The Division Fourteen mentioned by Gu Ji, is precisely the Public Security Bureau Eight Office mentioned by Li Yaoguang earlier: a branch established by the Special Service Bureau under the Wu Province Public Security Bureau. Most of them hail from the Armed Police Academy's security studies, well-versed in special driving, security, staff operations, logistics, and tactical command, responsible for the close protection of high-ranking officials within the bureau.
"Because of your outstanding performance in the 'Golden Shield Operation', Mr. Li recommended you to the provincial bureau, and even the Ningzhou State Security Branch expressed to the higher-ups their intention to transfer you for security work."
This statement by Lei Wanshan indeed surprised Gu Ji.
Li Ruilin valuing him for the sake of honing his skills was expected, but he didn't anticipate even the National Security Bureau would point him out.
Could it have been Shi Zhengmin or Zeng Dan's suggestion?
