The modern world, Lake Benqi.
The surface of the lake was calm and tranquil, with a gentle breeze and perfect sunlight. Being one of the Fuji Five Lakes, this area was relatively undeveloped, offering a pristine natural landscape. However, the thunder of armed helicopters' rotor blades, the shouts of the American soldiers, and the defensive perimeter checkpoints scattered along the lakeshore disrupted the serene scenery.
Occasionally, a gunshot would ring out, followed by people rushing over, and each campsite sounding sharp alarms, as if everyone were bracing for an enemy.
In the end, it often turned out to be a misunderstanding, nothing like the thrilling plot of an action movie where a lone soldier encounters an unknown monster. Mostly it was just nerves stretched too tight, a sense of being on edge, firing at any slight noise, almost leading to friendly fire.
