After bidding farewell to Shen Ziyu, Wang Jiu was soon greeted by a group of old men with graying beards lining the path.
Without exception, these old men were members of the Cyan Cloud Grand Competition Organizing Committee. Their statuses varied, yet they all wore anxious expressions. Leading them was a man who appeared just over thirty, standing out amongst the elderly crowd with his unique presence. He was the second-in-command from the Lu Family, Lu Xin, who had long accepted his fate. Compared to the elderly around him, Lu Xin was noticeably more anxious. He clasped his fists, opened his hand, and spoke directly:
"Mr. Wang Jiu, Mr. Wang Jiu, can we have a word?"
Wang Jiu sensed no malice from the other party, nodded, and followed the group into a medium-sized meeting room. A bunch of old men shuffled in, and the last one carefully closed the door, then stood by it, listening with an ear to the door, looking wary.
