The final shout came from Aunt He.
She squeezed into the crowd with difficulty, and began to curse loudly.
"All idle, huh? Didn't you see the child being kicked? You say pitiful, yet none of you go check on them! You're quite something with your mouths; you've done every good deed there is."
"Does being a widow mean she has to be invisible? Who made that rule? Her husband's dead, she's not a criminal! If she doesn't go out, what do they eat? Are you giving them grain?"
