"What's wrong? Are you upset about having to do your postpartum care properly?"
Mrs. Qi got upset hearing this.
She was well aware of stories of mothers-in-law in the village making life tough for their daughters-in-law.
But she couldn't bring herself to do such things.
All of her daughters-in-law at home, every single one of them, had to complete their postpartum confinement whenever they had children.
Like with her fourth daughter-in-law who had twins before, the doctor said it took a toll on her health, so Mrs. Qi, as a mother-in-law, insisted she have a double confinement.
Mrs. Qi thought of herself as not the world's best mother-in-law, but at least as a rare good one.
Who knew she'd receive such comments now?
Mrs. Qi was very angry and felt aggrieved.
