Maeve Lane was slightly taken aback, probably not expecting Mrs. Roland to be so straightforward.
Raymond Roland coughed and said, "Rowan, things aren't certain yet, calm down first."
If it turns out to be just empty joy, the blow to Rowan would be even greater.
Even though, from the first glance he took at Maeve Lane, he felt a kind of inexplicable familiarity.
Usually calm and composed, he found himself impatient, with a bunch of questions he wanted to ask her.
Mrs. Roland also realized her actions might have been a bit inappropriate, so she tried to hold back her tears and said, "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't scare you, I'm just a bit excited."
Maeve Lane slightly lifted her gaze, "It's fine, I understand."
And then, the table went silent.

Raymond Roland broke the silence and said, "Let me introduce myself first... I'm Rowan's husband, Raymond Roland."
Maeve Lane added unmoved, "I'm Maeve Lane."
