There was no one in the entire unit who spoke fluent English, yet unexpectedly, during a tractor inspection trip to the village, we encountered someone who did.
Zhao Ziyu excitedly walked over to the secretary.
"Secretary Wang, we found her! Did you see that girl just now? Her English is particularly fluent!"
"Really?"
"Yes, really! I already asked her, she knows everything and her accent is exceptionally pure; you'd think she had lived abroad!"
Secretary Wang was a bit curious.
"How could a village girl possibly speak English?"
It wasn't meant to be dismissive, it's just that, in a place where the average education level doesn't even reach first grade, where people might not write their own names fluently, how could someone speak fluent English?
