Heavy snow fell, transforming the entire city into a glistening white expanse.
At the city gate, an old man and a young boy walked together.
The old man, with white hair and a weathered face, wore a tattered old robe, his long hair disheveled.
The young boy, just over ten years old, had a troubled expression, holding the reins of a small donkey.
The little donkey was also thin and small, looking as if it hadn't eaten for a long time, its head drooping, carrying a bundle of belongings in a tattered cloth bag on its back.
The two of them, along with the donkey, left long tracks in the snow.
"Master, when will we buy a horse to ride? I'm exhausted," the young boy panted, shrinking into himself as he asked.
Today, due to the snow, there were few people entering the city.
The old man with white hair, looking shabby, was surprised to see a little girl standing at the city gate: "Since when did the Capital City have a girl guarding the gate?"
