Andrew had no words for this hunk of metal, immediately rushing toward an empty side.
And on the wreckage of a Logger Mech not far away, the lance he had thrown earlier stood waiting.
The previous attacks had already made the autonomous consciousness mark Andrew as the greatest threat. Typhon was constantly locking onto his movements.
The moment he grasped the lance's shaft, the Ether engine inside Typhon began to spin wildly, all its energy converging into the thrusters on its back.
When the energy accumulation reached its peak, the thrusters violently erupted with a dazzling orange-red flame.
Its massive, heavy, and sturdy right arm curled in front of its body, forming a ramming horn for its charge. Under the powerful propulsion, Typhon rushed towards Andrew at extreme speed.
But just as it reached Andrew, its charging motion suddenly changed.
The right arm, acting as the ram, swept out horizontally. The giant hammer on its arm, powered by Typhon's terrifying force, brought an immense impact, smashing violently against the shield.
This blow, augmented by the charge from the full-power thrusters, still forced Andrew to slide back a considerable distance.
His feet dug two deep trenches in the ground.
But it was also this strike that sent the deeply embedded lance right back into Andrew's hand without him needing to pull it out.
"Heh, you had fun with those last few hits, didn't you?"
Gripping his lance tightly once more, Andrew pointed it at Typhon and said confidently:
"Now, it's my turn!"
But as an intelligent construct, Typhon couldn't understand this.
Seeing that its previous attack was effective, it immediately prepared to press its advantage. It raised both arms high in a circular embrace, and the thrusters on its back once again spewed fierce flames.
This time, however, it wasn't for a charge, but to unleash an even more powerful attack than before.
Typhon's upper body, accelerated by the thrusters, pressed down at high speed, and its raised arms, driven by the momentum of its torso, slammed down violently.
But facing this fierce blow, Andrew simply held up his shield, motionless.
"BOOM!!!"
Typhon's arms once again slammed violently against Andrew's shield.
Block!
While this amount of force wasn't a problem for Andrew, it was for the ground beneath his feet. A crack appeared, then rapidly widened.
The splintering fissures spread out from under his feet, shattering the ground where he stood. A crater formed and continued to expand with the force of the collision.
But Typhon, the attacker, fared even worse.
The powerful recoil forced Typhon's upper body to involuntarily fly back up, tilting backward with an unstable center of gravity.
At the same time, the moment after the block, the lance in Andrew's left hand thrust out fiercely toward Typhon's chest. The sharp weapon tore a huge gash in the heavy armor over its torso.
The once-thick armor was split open by the blow, revealing the complex mechanical structure within.
This thrust from Andrew forced the already tilting Typhon to fall backward completely to avoid being instantly destroyed by the move.
But with its balance already gone, Typhon could no longer stabilize itself. It had no choice but to rely on its back thrusters to right itself, and even then, it had to brace itself with its arms on the ground to fully regain its footing.
And Andrew? How could he possibly let such a perfect opportunity slip by?
Tucking the lance behind him with his left hand, while keeping the shield on his right arm raised defensively, Andrew began to gather all his strength.
In just two seconds, a red light surged from his body and enveloped him completely.
The next moment, that immense power transformed into a thrust of infinite might that screamed through the air.
The lance in his left arm shot out diagonally upward toward Typhon's torso, carrying Andrew's peerless strength.
Its torso already damaged and its defense breached from the previous attack, Typhon was run straight through the chest. The sharp tip of the lance pierced its body and emerged from its back.
Instantly, its autonomous core severely damaged, Typhon's movements stiffened, becoming jerky and losing all fluidity.
But an autonomous machine is an autonomous machine. With its mission unchanged, it would faithfully execute its orders even on the verge of destruction.
Even with its core pierced, Typhon still used its last ounce of power to try and raise its arms, attempting to complete its orders.
Seeing this, Andrew didn't hesitate and yanked the lance out of its chest.
With nothing to plug the hole, hydraulic fluid and other substances began to pour out uncontrollably from within Typhon.
To prevent any surprises, Andrew turned his shield sideways and brought its edge down with brutal force.
The immense force smashed its head, which already looked like it was embedded in its body, deeper into its torso.
Now, under the combined effect of the two fatal wounds, the flickering lights on Typhon's body immediately went dark.
And with that, Ryza's greatest asset collapsed to the ground, motionless.
Andrew and Typhon's battle had concluded in just two or three short minutes. During that time, Ryza, Evelyn, and Astra Yao had also been fighting hard.
Ryza was hoping his faithful teammate would be victorious, so he gritted his teeth, relying on his heavy armor to stall for time.
Evelyn, on the other hand, wanted to end the fight quickly so she could help Andrew.
Astra Yao's song turned into a supporting force, buffing Evelyn while unleashing attacks like bolts of lightning. Evelyn herself relentlessly assaulted Ryza, her sharp strings flying up and down.
For a moment, they were at a stalemate, neither side able to gain the upper hand.
Just as Evelyn began to take more risks to find a weak point, the other battle, which she thought would last much longer, had already ended.
"BOOM!!!"
With a final deafening crash, Andrew turned his head, a mocking smile on his face as he looked at Ryza, whose attention had been drawn by the sound.
"Kid, where I come from, this thing counts as a toy."
Watching Andrew pull his shield from Typhon's body, trailing viscous, unidentifiable fluid, Ryza couldn't help but let out a terrified scream.
"Oh! Oh! Oh!!!!!!"
With his greatest asset gone, he had no will to fight. He immediately threw all the explosives he had on him.
Cluster grenades, thrown with all his might, and the hand cannon on his left arm firing frantically.
For a moment, the widespread explosions forced Andrew to use his shield to protect Evelyn and Astra Yao.
Seizing this brief opening, he shed his armor and ran to his motorcycle.
Then, he charged toward the pile of car wreckage.
While frantically revving the engine, he also shed the incredibly heavy armor to lighten his load.
He fled. His current pathetic state was a stark contrast to his earlier arrogance.
Upon reaching the car wreckage, he charged up the pile at a unique angle, then weaved through it a few times to get past the seemingly impassable road.
It was obvious this escape route had been prepared in advance.
Watching Ryza escape into the distance, Evelyn, who had been engaged in intense close-quarters combat, said apologetically to Andrew:
"Sorry, I let him get away."
But Andrew didn't seem to mind. He waved his hand and said:
"Don't worry, he won't get far."
With that, he pressed his earpiece and called out:
"Gouram, return!"
Andrew's voice and the sound from the speaker on the Gouram rang out simultaneously. The walkie-talkie-like function allowed Andrew to give commands even from a great distance.
As his words fell, the Gouram, which had stopped participating in the fight to conserve energy after destroying a Logger Mech, roared back to life at full power.
The front of the bike turned, its sharp fangs pulling free from the lumberjack's wreckage. With a roar of the engine, it stopped beside Andrew in just a few seconds.
Seeing the motorcycle that moved like an autonomous mecha, Astra Yao's eyes sparkled brightly.
Stepping over and mounting the Gouram, Andrew revved the throttle. The next moment, he was speeding away on the motorcycle.
Unlike Ryza, when he reached the car wreckage, Andrew didn't slow down to follow Ryza's old path.
Instead, he ducked his head slightly and slammed on the accelerator.
"BOOM!!!"
Ryza, who had just ridden out, hadn't even had a chance to breathe a sigh of relief when he heard a tremendous crash behind him.
The mountain of wreckage was smashed to pieces, sending metal fragments flying in all directions like a goddess scattering flowers.
The residual fuel in the cars ignited on impact, setting the scattered wreckage ablaze.
Terrified, Ryza could only twist the throttle desperately.
But it was useless.
It wasn't that his beloved bike had a problem, but that no matter how much he accelerated, the terrifying man behind him was slowly closing in.
Like a hunter confirming the prey's exhaustion, preventing any possibility of a counterattack.
Seeing Andrew stuck to his tail, Ryza was on the verge of a breakdown. Andrew, in turn, was now certain that he had no more tricks up his sleeve.
For something this inhuman, Andrew had no intention of showing mercy. He lashed out with a powerful kick.
Ryza, speeding at over a hundred kilometers per hour, instantly lost control from Andrew's kick. The wildly wobbling motorcycle threw him off.
After crashing through several giant cacti on the roadside, he skipped across the ground a few times and landed, quite fortunately, on the yellow sand beside the road.
The intense pain made him spit out a mouthful of blood, and more blood continued to pour from his mouth.
Right now, all he felt was pain, pain everywhere.
The pain was so intense he felt it was worse than death, yet the "Gray Rhino" inner armor he hadn't removed ensured he wouldn't die instantly, forcing him to savor this agony.
Now, he had no strength left to resist.
To be precise, his life was now on its final countdown.
But just then, Andrew casually arrived beside him.
After waiting a moment, he took out a healing potion and poured it into him.
After all, catching a live one was important.
There were too many unanswered questions, like the identity of the mastermind behind all this.
As the potion was poured into his mouth, Ryza, who had felt he was about to die, was astonished to find...
The pain wracking his body was rapidly disappearing, and his ribs and thigh, which he was sure were broken, were as good as new.
But before he could rejoice, Andrew's next words plunged him into an icy abyss.
"I suggest you tell me everything you know right now. Otherwise... with potions like this, you can experience the pain you just felt countless more times."
Feeling that his threat lacked some concrete substance and wasn't intimidating enough, Andrew thought for a moment and decided to sacrifice Evelyn's image a little.
After all, for the safety of her young lady, she surely wouldn't mind such a small sacrifice, right?
So, Andrew started making things up:
"And remember that woman with the golden hair? She grew up in a secret organization and knows countless torture techniques. If she gets her hands on you, it won't be as simple as what just happened."
Ryza, who had been hesitating and struggling because of Thorne's threats, immediately lost his nerve upon hearing this. He grabbed Andrew's pant leg and said:
"I'll talk! I'll talk! I'll tell you everything! I don't want to go through that pain again!!!"
Hearing this, Andrew nodded in satisfaction and dragged him back.
The utterly terrified Ryza immediately confessed everything he knew. But as he revealed more and more, an enraged Evelyn couldn't stop herself from kicking him hard in the face.
Blood instantly gushed from his cut mouth. A scarlet streak of blood mixed with saliva splattered on the yellow sand.
The dry sand quickly absorbed the moisture, revealing the broken tooth fragments mixed within.
These were the teeth shattered by the kick.
This time, there was no healing potion from Andrew to fix him up.
And because of Andrew's earlier threat, Ryza had developed a natural fear of Evelyn. After that kick, he didn't even dare to look up at her.
Astra Yao, seeing how scared Ryza was, quietly poked Andrew and whispered:
"Andrew, what on earth did you say to him? Why is he so afraid of Evelyn?"
Fearing further questions, Andrew immediately changed the subject.
Looking at Ryza, who was collapsed on the ground clutching his rapidly swelling face, and at Evelyn, who was struggling to calm herself down, Andrew asked:
"What do you want to do with him next?"
Though furious, Evelyn hadn't lost her head to rage. She took a deep breath, regained her composure, and said:
"The best thing to do is call Public Security. It's just... to be this brazen and also get military equipment, I wonder if they have connections within the Bureau..."
At this, Andrew perked up and immediately said:
"Let me make the call then. I know a police officer friend, she's got a strong sense of justice. I'm sure there won't be any problem if I ask her."
Surprised that Andrew actually had connections in Public Security, and having built a stronger foundation of trust in him after the battle, Evelyn nodded and said:
"In that case, I'll leave it to you."
