Crying inwardly, Emil stretched out his hand once more toward the chest. The banging inside grew louder, and now, to his increasing horror, a faint whimpering sound joined the cacophony.
As night began to settle over the dark wilderness, the strange noises from the chest and Emil's fright rubbed off to drayce as well. Swiftly, with caution crossing his feature he reached for a bow strapped across his back, nocking an arrow in its streched string, he remained perfectly still waiting silently for the chest to be opened.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Emil yelped in fright as soon as he opened the lid.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!" another shrill voice screamed in reply as the occupant of the chest sprang forth in a blur of panic and chaos from inside.
SWOOSH!!!!
THAK!!!!!
Just for a moment his eyes widened for a split second before Drayce released his arrow.
