After the brave elf finally completed his mission.
Amanda as commanded rallied up troops, from her order of nobility.
Nobility had four armies consisting of over 40,000 troops but now due to the events, they consisted of over 30,000.
Amanda sent one guild to each village, one commander's army to each town and city and the rest followed her for a march into the provincial capital. All within the first province.
Each village was cleared, not a single soul survived even though the villages were empty they still showed signs of a lot of struggle, sometimes the signs were of intense warfare, and sometimes it looked like the village didn't know what hit them.
Towns on the other hand were worse.
A commander and his army marched into a town.
The commander was an artimar his skin was a light blue, he walked with confidence his puffy dark blue hair, bounced with each stride.
He wore shiny thin plated steel armour.
As soon as they entered the place, it was only ruins, their was truly nothing left execpt large heaps of rubble.
The commander immediately commanded his captains to spread out and search for any survivors. The captains immediately went out with their guilds, looking for people. After several minutes, someone found something.
He walked over to find an unconscious female beastkin who was stuck under some rubble.
The commander stretched his hand, mana bursting out of it, blowing all the rocks away without injuring the woman.
Now with a better view they could all see the woman. She didn't seem to be injured at all even though she was under the rocks. She was just unconscious.
Which made commander hesitate in suspicion as they were told, to watch out for traps.
Until one of the sergeants recognized her as volka venderbush, saying she was under Joldwins guild.
The commander understood and decided to take her back immediately so she could be checked out.
This predicament was peculiar to them all with her being the only one alive but also being unscathed. Regardless of this they pressed on as she would be valuable for information.
Taking her back.
In trojan town.
A commander, another artimar with very dark blue skin and subtle grey undertones. His armour is made of black steel, with long grey strands hair spilling out from his helmet, which covered his face. Besides him was a grown woman with short ginger blond hair who stood at 5,5. She was the mix between the elegant features and thin figure of an elf and sturdy but short body of a dwarf. Her dark eyes scanned the area in deep worry. she wore leather dress, with a small satchel her callused hands clung tightly too.
They all walked into the devastated town.
Some of the commander's army spread out to cover the town, and look for survivors.
While he went with rest to cover the battlefield.
They continued forward, toward the edge of a crater.
The commander looked over the crater and saw what seemed to be a woman at the centre of it.
The commander commanded his guilds to see to this person. Two captains and their guilds ran to secure the large crater and see to the woman.
Everyone was focussed on the crater, but the half elf-dwarf woman looked forward worrying about something else.
The commander tried to reassure her but it was too late as she caught a figure far into the town. In front of the chairman's mansion. It was unrecognisable from that distance so she ran toward it.
With all she could.
Back to the crater everyone found out that it was the general Serene and she was alive.
But she had suffered life threatening physical injuries. The medic's were working overtime to try to bring her to stabilise completely so they could move her out safely.
As they did.
A voice rang out.
Which caught the attention of everyone even, Serene as her closed eyelids twitched.
"FERVEON!" she wailed in anguish.
The woman's face was full of tears, her body shaking with distress. On her knees she looked up at him, her arms barely holding her up, tears flowing from her face. "No, don't tell me no!" Her tears echoed throughout the hollowed town. She lost strength in her arms and laid on the ground. Her wailing continued to echo deeper throughout the town.
Rolland's body, skewed with bone spikes, was now a dried up husk of flesh and gore. The bones that impaled him were stained with decayed flesh and blood. A dreadful sight.
Then she began, smashing her hands on the ground beneath him.
"FERVEON" "FERVEON" "FERVEON—" she called his name out, sniffling and rubbing her face off the cold stone.
Rolland's corpse remained unresponsive despite her calls.
Her grieving turned sour as she began hitting her hand on the ground. Punching it continuously as her knuckles bled. Her repeated shouts only got more intense. Calling it him out again and again.
"YOU PROMISED… you knave" her voice cracked, "DAMN YOU—YOU FOOLISH MAN. I—" she took a moment, pausing her fist but then continued her lament "You idiot, I loved you!" She kept punching the hard stone. She punched it again and again. "HOW DARE YOU DIE ON ME! AFTER WE FINALLY GOT HERE, YOU DECIDED TO LEAVE ME." Her fist started making cracking noises as she hit the ground harder, her knuckles were now spitting blood.
By now it had gone completely numb.
Tears overflowed. Then her fist paused, in the air she tried pulling forward but she couldn't. "Why did you leave me" Her voice was strained but you could still hear her overwhelming sorrow, in every breath, "This was our time. To finally be together, after it all was said and done. I am sorry—I couldn't be there for you. Because maybe if I was, I would be able to help you and if not…To Die with you my love. I would."
She raised her head looking at his gorged body, the mere sight of him made her face scrunch as she immediately swung her head to the ground but before it could hit.
Her hand that had stopped was yanked up "Stop it Julie!" Julie was pulled to her feet, Serene let go and stumbled back due to exerting herself too much.
Serene, eyes were weary, she could barely stand up right, she was not in the best of states at all.
"General!"
Two captains came to hold her up, as she was struggling to stand up right.
Julie just stood there, her bleeding and broken fist still in the air, lowering her fist she turned her body around, and glared harshly at Serene.
Serene didn't react outwardly, her body barely able to stand on her two legs.
Julie then said "you don't know how I feel. Not even a little bit. You got to live your perfect ending—I didn't. So don't ever try to—stop me like that again." Her tone was so vile even the captains were surprised. Serene eyes narrowed at this, her face was still.
Julie walked away, to leave.
Serene fell to the ground.
"General!"
Conclusion of the towns.
The other two had no survivors.
In the cities, the only bodies that were recovered was the body of obsidian's son Baruss.
Then Galerius the Gale warden.
Then the provincial capital.
There was a fight due, the necromancer leaving the region with twenty thousand undead. Those only being bonewakers and every spectral undead. Along with every Drogger.
That leaves the remaining undead left the majority being bonewalkers any other being thralls All together the undead within the provincial capital were in the hundred thousands.
Amanda took a whole army with her to the provincial capital. Which consisted of Five commanders, fifty captains, one thousand sergeants and lieutenants and ten thousand soldiers.
No one expected the numbers to be so stacked against them luckily it wasn't just any order but it was nobility which is full of the most elite commanders and captains. The most skilled and experienced sergeants and lieutenants. The most coordinated soldiers. They were the best in terms of power and skill. They came in with capability, competence and the peak of Viscura talent.
There are the eagles that soared above all. Others.
With the blood swan overseeing them, they tore the undead apart.
Soldiers, coordinated and took down thralls horse effortlessly and sergeants picked up on mistakes solider made, allowing them to continue to fighting while repeating orders back from the lieutenants who were cutting down rows of thralls and bonewalkers while keeping the whole guild in order, so captains could focus on eradicating large chunks of undead. They would rampage through the battlefield ripping through undead with precision without having to worry. While commanders took on hordes of undead tearing through them and decimating them with their greater power.
Amanda just spectated, from a large pile of gigantic bones each commander took a specific quarter of capital dominating effortlessly.
She looked proudly upon her order.
Behind her, a boy who was a mix of aritmar and human with light tanned skin, his short black hair was locked up. He stood behind her with black leather armour, a rapier just like Amanda's on his belt and linen dark green blind fold wrapped around his eyes. He had a crest on his leather armour that depicted a knight with a sword.
After a while, the battle died down, nobility were so efficient they only retained a few 100 lower casualties which is expected when your army hasn't fought a battle in awhile.
Amanda thought differently as she began lecturing her whole order. For about an hour about what she observed that they did wrong, how they could improve. The boy behind her smiled at her teaching, listening intently.
Once she had finished they recovered obsidian's body which had shrivelled up quite a lot but they still took his body back in a large wooden cart.
Amanda as everyone was leaving realised something was missing "where is the fealty brat?"
She left everyone to go look for him.
She found him looking down at an axe with a rune on its blade, laid over decayed remains.
She landed behind him.
His blindfold in his hand as slow tears hit the blade.
"Is it related to you?"
"Yeah he was my step brother, donny. We were supposed to become strong together without using the easy way."
"Oh so you're both nobles?"
"Yeah—we are." his voice grew sad, as more tears came out.
Amanda eye twitched
"Grit yourself young man, and raise that axe, I don't think he would want you soiling his remains any longer."
He sniffed, "your right" his voice weak with emotion.
As he rubbed his eyes, he wrapped on his blind fold.
Picking up the axe. Amanda left first, her facial expression hadn't really changed as she maintained a serious face.
All of the first province had been cleared and with VC caravel being taken they knew the necromancer had fled to the region of umbra. So there was no need to check the second province.
The nobility order had left back to umbra.
End of chapter.
