Chapter 181: Storm
Drawing upon the power of the Nine Realms and representing the collective will of Asgard, Hela finally entered her peak state. She shed her status as Arthur's servant and ascended once more to become the proud and powerful Goddess of Death.
"You seem very angry?" Arthur said with a smile. He didn't care in the slightest how furious Hela was or how much power she could unleash when provoked.
"Commanding the power of Asgard, I shall pass judgment upon you!" A trace of ferocity appeared on Hela's cold face.
The dark green storm continued to swirl as an arc of light erupted from Hela's body. It spread across the sky like a brilliant, scattering aurora, only stopping once it covered the entirety of Asgard.
The entire space was being frozen by Hela's infinite mobilization of power. Arthur felt that his spatial displacement ability, granted by the Snake Talisman's deep invisibility, had failed. Even using the power of the Space Stone, tearing through this locked-down space would be extremely difficult.
A black-and-green spike began to condense in front of Hela. Its size was so massive it looked like a skyscraper falling through the sky.
The skyscraper-sized spike shot out at extreme speed. It locked onto Arthur, moving too fast to dodge!
In the air, Arthur pushed the Dragon Talisman to its limit, raising hundreds of energy shields in front of himself all at once.
Carrying terrifying power, the massive spike seemed unstoppable. It easily pierced through the energy shields Arthur had raised; the nearly solidified energy shattered, sending countless golden fragments dancing through the air!
Maintaining its relentless momentum, the spike pierced through over a hundred layers of energy defense in a short time, lunging toward Arthur.
The phantom of an ox lit up in the depths of Arthur's eyes. He took a step forward, crossing his arms in front of his chest to defend.
Blood splattered as the sharp spike struck Arthur's arms. The powerful Impact caused the spike to crumble continuously, followed by a violent explosion. Arthur was slammed into the royal palace, and as the massive spike embedded itself, it triggered another blast. Just like when Surtur emerged, the luxurious palace was once again reduced to ruins.
In the distance, Hela watched Arthur's figure disappear but did not let down her guard. If the Demon were that easy to deal with, she wouldn't have bowed her head and served him for so long, only daring to resist now.
The previous attack was powerful, but it had also consumed a lot of her energy. Hela continuously absorbed power from Asgard's crystal core to replenish her internal energy stores.
As expected, a black figure flew out from the soaring flames and dust a few seconds later, leaving a trail in the sky as it flew at high speed—and his speed was still increasing.
Through her period of endurance, Hela's understanding of the Demon had increased significantly. His combat characteristics involved his speed and strength continuously increasing during battle, and she had yet to see his limit—she didn't even know if he had any limits at all... Hela knew she had to end this quickly. She had to resolve the Demon with the most decisive attacks. Once he was allowed to maintain that combat state and accumulate energy, she would surely be the one to lose in the end... If she failed, she couldn't imagine any possibility other than death; the Demon was never one for mercy.
Hela also accelerated to meet him, swinging her sword with all her might!
The green and black figures collided violently in the sky. The powerful shockwaves pulverized nearby buildings, and the Undead Soldiers at the center of the battlefield were instantly torn apart.
Arthur shattered Hela's longsword with a punch. The healing power of the Horse Talisman flowed, instantly mending the wounds on his hands. Hela condensed another longsword from the void to attack again.
In Asgard, both possessed infinite energy. Their battle was like a needle meeting a whetstone—fierce and sharp.
Their speeds were both increasing, and the force of their attacks grew more powerful with each strike. Two spheres of light, one green and one black, collided repeatedly in the sky. The resulting Impacts spread to the ground, destroying mountains and buildings.
Initially, the two were evenly matched, but as the battle progressed, Arthur slowly gained the upper hand.
Hela was inwardly alarmed. No matter how powerful an attack she launched, Arthur would neutralize it. Even if she broke through his defenses and injured him, his terrifying self-healing ability allowed him to return to his peak state instantly.
As the fight continued, Hela grew even more startled. She suddenly realized she had seemingly never found the limit of the Demon's power... Hela began to feel a hint of regret; her resistance against the Demon this time didn't seem to have the high chance of success she had imagined.
Hela was pushed back once again by Arthur. Two laser beams followed her like shadows; their piercing power shattered her defenses and bored through her chest. Just as blood began to flow from Hela's chest, surging energy quickly repaired her wound, but her own healing ability was far weaker and slower than that of the Horse Talisman.
Hela dodged and fled continuously, heading straight toward the gathering energy storm.
Arthur flew in pursuit, constantly firing powerful lasers at Hela. Soon, the continuous lasers left countless bloody holes in her body. The speed at which she drew on Asgard's power to repair her body could not keep up with the speed of Arthur's attacks.
Hela flew into the dark green energy storm. Vast amounts of energy poured in, instantly mending her broken body. The swirling energy storm became even more violent, as if it would drain all of Asgard's stored energy, or perhaps it was about to lose balance and explode completely... An explosion of an energy source of this scale would be enough to destroy all of Asgard, sending it plunging into the abyss of the Universe.
Hela made up her mind. Even if Asgard were destroyed, she could rebuild it, but if she lost this war, she would lose everything.
From the center of the vortex, Hela let out a roar and pushed out the violent energy storm with all her strength!
The energy storm instantly swept through Asgard's city-state. Objects were ground to dust, and the earth split open to reveal blue crystals underground. The entirety of Asgard was shaking violently.
Arthur frowned slightly at the storm before him. The attack range was so large there was no space to dodge, and it remained locked onto him.
After thinking, Arthur still had no better solution. He chose to wrap himself in more energy shields and actively meet Hela's attack. After all, he was immortal and indestructible, and the Horse Talisman could remove any pain in time.
Seeing Arthur's move, Hela's furrowed brow immediately relaxed. She reached out a hand, and as Asgard's energy surged wildly, countless blades pierced into the storm.
Chapter 182: The Summit
Asgard returned to peace, with the palace majestic and imposing under the sun.
Inside the palace, Arthur sat high on the throne, symbolizing the highest power of the Nine Realms.
Just moments before, Asgard had been engulfed in war, but now it was as if time had reversed; everything was intact. The only difference was that Hela knelt before Arthur.
Hela no longer possessed her former arrogance; her face was calm, and her eyes revealed a dullness born of shattered hope.
"How is this possible?" Frigga shook her head, her face full of disbelief. Her wounded body was out of place in the magnificent palace.
She couldn't understand how Hela, who possessed infinite power in Asgard, could have failed. She would rather see Hela, who killed Odin, rule Asgard than see a demon sitting on the throne.
"Haven't you recognized reality yet?" Arthur said, looking at the despairing Hela, "My poor servant..."
After a long while, Hela finally looked at Arthur. "What kind of monster are you?"
"I am a demon." Arthur rested his hands on the armrest, calmly looking at Hela.
"Those energies were enough to destroy everything; no life could have survived..."
Hela murmured to herself. Even though the outcome was already decided, she still couldn't accept her failure.
"I can understand a servant wanting to resist their Master," Arthur said disdainfully, "It's a pity you don't have the strength..."
"I am the Queen! Even if I die today!" Hela suddenly roared.
"No, you never were." Arthur smiled. "You were once Odin's enforcer, and now you are merely a demon's servant."
"Yes, I was Odin's enforcer..." Hela was momentarily dazed. "But the resting place he gave me was Éljúðnir. All the glory of Asgard has nothing to do with me. From then on, I will not be anyone's enforcer!"
"I once said you could be Queen, as long as you were willing to kneel before me..." Arthur said, pressing his hand on Hela's head.
A faint blue light shone, and his other hand slowly drew a long sword from the void. The sword was entirely red, exuding a scorching aura even when exposed to the air.
Frigga, below the great hall, couldn't help but take a step back, and Hela, kneeling on the ground, was also filled with terror... They both sensed the power of this long sword.
The Twilight Sword, Surtur's weapon. In the original plot, Surtur, bathed in the Eternal Flame, was supposed to wield the Twilight Sword and cleave all of Asgard, but Arthur had rewritten all of it.
The Twilight Sword could suppress the vitality of Asgardians and diminish their divine power; it was the bane of all Asgardians.
"No..." Hela, controlled, could only roar.
Arthur pushed Hela to the ground. He gripped the Twilight Sword with both hands reversed, and with a single strike, pierced Hela's chest, pinning her to the ground.
Hela let out a wail, like a vengeful spirit crying in the realm of death.
"Sometimes death is a release, but can you achieve that release?" Arthur said coldly, "As the Goddess of Death, you often bestow death upon others, but as my servant, your death can only be judged by me."
The Twilight Sword continuously absorbed Hela's life force and suppressed her divine power, amplifying the pain a hundredfold. Moreover, Asgard would continuously transmit energy to Hela to sustain her life, so Hela couldn't even end this suffering... Hela trembled all over, she reached out and clutched Arthur's pant leg, veins bulging on her arm.
"Master, I was wrong... Pull it out, please!"
Arthur merely smiled and shook his head, "Feel the pain, this will be a long process..."
Arthur took out the Space Stone, and as blue light blossomed, the entire space of Asgard was sealed.
"I believe that next time we meet, you will be obedient." Arthur said, "Hela, even in pain, do not forget your mission. My task for you is to conquer the entire Universe..."
"No..." Hela watched the blue light carry Arthur away, shouting in despair... In London, Gwen, clad in her spider suit, leaned against a tall building, her hands pressed against the wall, overlooking the bustling streets below.
The voice of Anti-Demon Alliance leader, Tony Stark, came through her earpiece.
"More than twenty national leaders are participating in this London summit. HYDRA's target is these Presidents and Prime Ministers. They want to use this to destabilize the international situation and even provoke a Third WorldWar."
"The HYDRA organization will expand rapidly in chaos, and they thrive in a global war situation, so we must stop them!"
"Commander Hill has brought people to participate in the security inside the venue, but I think those security personnel may not be reliable. As seen from the previous 'Demon Project' incident, HYDRA's infiltration is pervasive... So Captain, you need to be vigilant."
"Received." Captain America, inside the venue, looked around and said. He was wearing a sharp black suit, blending in with a group of international Agents responsible for security.
"Agent Barton and Miss Spider are responsible for the outer perimeter. Please report any anomalies immediately... Of course, Jarvis has already monitored all surveillance cameras in London; he should be the first to discover anything."
"Received!" Gwen and Hawkeye replied simultaneously in the communication channel.
"OK, stay sharp everyone!"
Tony, inside the venue, said in a low voice. As a representative of Stark Energy, he also participated in this summit, specifically in the meetings concerning the global new energy construction plan.
Gwen had already participated in many important missions and was no longer a novice, so she still had the leisure to gaze at the Thames.
Time passed quietly, and Gwen, like the other members, reported in the communication channel, but after more than an hour, there were still no anomalies.
The security level of a summit where several national leaders gathered was still excellent; even HYDRA would not find it easy to create trouble.
Suddenly, Gwen heard a burst of chaotic gunfire from the communication channel. She took one last look at the sparkling Thames under the sunlight, then leaped and fell downward.
The huge convention hall was in chaos. Agents from various countries formed a human wall with their bodies to protect the Presidents and began an emergency evacuation.
Captain America was leading a group of S.H.I.E.L.D.Agents to intercept a group of suspicious individuals. Hill, wearing high heels, walked out from the side, holding a gun in one hand and throwing Captain America's shield over with the other.
A tactical grenade with its pin pulled rolled over. Captain America unhesitatingly raised his shield and pressed down on it. Several Agents quickly dove backward to dodge.
"Bang!"
A muffled explosion sounded, and Captain America was thrown back. The weapons used by these suspicious individuals were clearly specially modified and enhanced for power.
Chapter 183: Safety Exit
On the other side of the venue, Tony stopped a panicked waiter and placed his champagne on the waiter's tray.
"I suggest you stay in the restroom; the'Safety Exit' might not be safe..."
After saying this, Tony walked against the flow of the crowd to the window, rolled up his suit sleeves to reveal metal bracelets—these two metal bracelets were used for Iron Armor identification—and watched the mechanical launch pod flying in from the distance.
"Hands up!"
Suddenly, a group of people carrying submachine guns rushed into the venue; they were wearing black suits and demon masks to distinguish their identities.
They instantly took control of the scene. Those wealthy individuals who controlled the economic lifelines of many regions could only tremble and raise their hands under the gun barrels, as their bodyguards had not been able to enter a venue of this level.
"Get down!" one person said, pointing a gun at Tony.
Tony raised his hands and said with a smile, "Okay, sir, please calm down!"
"Tony Stark?" He suspected his eyes were playing tricks on him; wasn't Iron Man in New York?
Suddenly, Tony turned and jumped off the windowsill, and the next second, a burst of bullets shattered the railing.
Tony accelerated his fall, and the golden Iron Armor launch pod arrived behind him, beginning to assemble onto his body after the infrared identification was successful.
The Iron Armor helmet closed, and Tony quickly activated the power units to decelerate, with the arc reactor thrusters firing at full power. After stopping, Tony quickly accelerated and flew upward, the process without the slightest hesitation.
Tony returned to the window, "Hello!"
The Palm Cannon fired, blasting a gunman against the wall, and then he turned and knocked down another enemy with a punch.
"Bang, bang, bang, bang..."
Several submachine guns fired in unison, and countless bullets hit Tony's Iron Armor. Even though those firearms had been modified, they couldn't even scratch the paint on the Iron Armor.
Two rows of firing ports rose from Tony's shoulders, and the automatic targeting system instantly locked onto seven enemies located among the crowd and behind cover.
A volley of ammunition was fired, leaving arc-shaped white trails in the hall, and the seven people wearing demon masks were killed and fell to the ground at the same time.
"Mr. Stark!" Among the onlookers were Tony's friends and business partners.
"Everyone, stay safe. I suggest you just stay in the room and don't run around; it might be even more dangerous outside..."
As he spoke, Tony turned and flew out from the windowsill, flying around the entire building until he reached the front.
Tony entered through a front window. Captain Americawas holding his ground, holding his shield in one hand to block bullets and firing back with the other. Seeing him, Hill immediately explained the situation.
"The Presidents have already descended via the elevator to the underground emergency shelter area. The emergency shelter area connects to the'Safety Exit', we just need to hold this corridor!"
Tony immediately questioned, "Is the'Safety Exit' really safe? What if HYDRA knows the location of the'Safety Exit' and has laid an ambush in advance?"
"But the problem is that S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't know the location of the'Safety Exit' either..."
"Jarvis, keep an eye on the block at all times, and report any situation to me with precise locations."
Tony raised his arm and fired a small missile. After it exploded at the other end of the corridor, the sparks almost reached them, and the entire hotel building was shaking slightly.
Suddenly, Tony saw a black Shadow rush out from the flames on his screen. His speed was extremely fast, faster than the flames produced by the explosion and the high-temperature, high-pressure gases.
"Watch out!"
Tony had just issued the warning when he was knocked to the ground, followed by Captain America. All the Agents in the room were not spared; they didn't even know what had happened.
"Jarvis, motion capture!"
"Yes, sir!"
The Iron Armor helmet shot out an infrared beam that scanned the entire hall, and the next moment, Tony was knocked down by a punch again.
The opponent was not only extremely fast but also had high physical strength, with force of at least around twenty tons.
Fortunately, the attack method was singular and could not break through Tony's Iron Armor in the short term.
Jarvis also reached a conclusion; the scan showed the opponent's speed reached an astonishing two hundred miles per hour, with a speed per second exceeding one hundred meters.
"His speed is too fast, everyone be careful!" Tony warned again, but on the other side, Captain America, who had just climbed up, was hit again.
A person with such high-speed movement ability was simply their nemesis. Although Tony's speed could exceed the speed of sound when flying at full speed, it didn't mean he possessed the same reaction speed.
Suddenly, a voice came from the corner of the room, "Okay, okay, I got it!"
Tony looked over and saw a man leaning against the corner, talking on the phone. Tony also got a clear look at this superhuman with super-fast speed.
He was wearing a blue combat suit with a lightning bolt symbol on his chest, which matched his ability quite well.
He had medium-length silver-white hair and was wearing windproof goggles; he seemed a bit impatient while taking the call.
The person who arrived was none other than Baron Strucker's capable subordinate, Quicksilver. Ever since Scarlet Witch disappeared, Quicksilver had been executing high-risk missions within HYDRA alone, and this time he had followed the others to London.
"Bang, bang, bang..." A series of gunshots rang out as those well-trained Agents fired toward where Quicksilverwas.
But those bullets all hit the wall. Quicksilver's voice came from another place; he was sitting on a wooden table, swinging his legs.
"Then send the address of that'Safety Exit' to my phone, I'm going now."
"Bang, bang, bang, bang..." The Agents fired in unison again, but before they could empty their magazines, everyone was knocked down again. This time, Quicksilverstruck extremely heavily; the ordinary Agents vomited blood and lost the ability to act.
Tony scanned again and found that Quicksilver had already left; he recalled the keywords from that phone call.
"He's gone?" Captain America asked, bracing himself up with his shield.
"Jarvis, can you try to track him?" Tony asked as he got up.
"Sir, his speed is too fast. I am extracting surveillance video from every intersection to search for his figure frame by frame, but there is too much data and I need some time."
"But we don't have time!" Tony said.
"He's gone, his target is the'Safety Exit'!" Tony flew backward out the window and said to Hill, "We need to know the location of the'Safety Exit'; those presidential bodyguards are no match for him!"
As he spoke, Tony flew out the window and gained altitude.
Jarvis's voice rang out again, "Southeast direction, he has been spotted at the intersection leading to Oxford Street."
Tony controlled the Iron Armor and flew toward the southeast.
"Mr. Stark, I think I know the location of the'Safety Exit'." Gwen's voice came through the communication channel.
Gwen, who was swinging on webs in the street, looked at the chaotic street in the distance and said. She also saw a sudden commotion on the street, as if a calm surface of water had been stirred up.
Chapter 184: Spider-Sense
Gwen dived down at high speed, her hands shooting out webs to grab the buildings on both sides to slow down, gliding over the heads of the crowd like a pendulum.
A white-haired old man's cowboy hat was blown off by the wind Gwen kicked up. Ignoring his hat, the old man pointed at Gwen's back and shouted in surprise, "Spider-Woman!"
At the intersection, Quicksilver stopped in the middle of the road. A car drove toward him, and the driver slammed on the brakes after reacting. The friction between the tires and the asphalt made a tooth-grinding screech, mixed with a series of urgent honks.
The crowd of onlookers also broke into gasps, but Quicksilver remained calm. He held his phone, pointing at the street signs as if comparing something.
"67 Fifth Avenue... This way?"
Quicksilver dashed out. A moment later, he had run through the entire street but hadn't found the emergency exit he wanted, so he returned to the intersection again to check the signpost.
Quicksilver stood still. To avoid him, the oncoming car crashed into a storefront on the side.
"Turns out I came to the wrong place. This is Fourth Avenue..." Quicksilver muttered.
Suddenly, a voice rang out from behind: "Hey, fast-running kid, you're under arrest. Stop!"
Quicksilver turned around against the street sign. A pink figure was standing on a street lamp.
"Spider-Woman?" Quicksilver was a bit surprised. "Why are you in London... did you come with the Anti-Demon Alliance? That's unlucky. I'm actually a fan of yours!"
"My fan? Hello..." Gwen was stunned. "Are you called Flash? I see a lightning bolt on your chest. Do you need a photo or an autograph?"
"Quicksilver!" Quicksilver put on his glasses. "Let's save the photo and autograph for next time? Sorry, I'm a bit busy right now. I still have to go assassinate a few Presidents."
As he spoke, Quicksilver ran off, and Gwen's web shot through the air and hit the ground.
"I don't need fans who assassinate Presidents..."
Gwen said as she also leaped out, swinging on her webs to follow the direction Quicksilver had left.
At the next intersection, Gwen caught up with Quicksilver, who was checking the signs to identify the direction.
"So he has no sense of direction!" Gwen complained in her heart.
Gwen shot her web and successfully caught Quicksilverwhile he was looking at the map. With a hard pull, Quicksilver flew out and slammed heavily onto the road.
"Sorry, my fan, but I have to stop your crazy actions."
Gwen landed on the ground, looking warily at the fallen Quicksilver.
"Why is your Anti-Demon Alliance in London instead of dealing with Demons?" Quicksilver grumbled as he climbed up from the ground.
"Uh... actually, 'Anti-Demon Alliance' is just a title; we're also called the 'Avengers.' Our duty is to protect Earth. Doesn't that sound more high-end than assassinating Presidents? Do you want to join us? We happen to be a bit short-handed right now," Gwen introduced solemnly.
"No, I'm doing just fine in HYDRA!" Quicksilver said dissatisfiedly.
"You really are from HYDRA!"
Facing this major evil organization again, Gwen felt a bit of excitement.
"So?" Quicksilver shook his head and said, "You guys haven't even dealt with the Demon yet..."
"The Demon is no longer on Earth. He left when the Battle of New York ended," Gwen said.
"But I saw him with my own eyes after the Battle of New York—the Demon!" Quicksilver said angrily. "He kidnapped my sister and even brainwashed her, yet you 'Anti-Demon Alliance' people are here minding other people's business."
"Your sister?" Gwen suddenly remembered the girl who had fought alongside her during the Battle of New York. "The girl by the Demon's side?"
"What does it matter if you know..." Quicksilver said flatly, and suddenly he charged forward.
"!!!"
Her Spider-Sense blared an alarm. Without any hesitation, Gwen threw a full-force punch to the side.
"Bang!"
A loud noise rang out as Quicksilver was sent flying by Gwen's punch. He crashed through the glass display window of a shop.
Gwen walked up and let out a breath while looking at her fist.
"I met someone before who was very fast. Compared to him, you're much slower..."
Quicksilver struggled to climb up from the ground; Gwen's strength was not small.
"Who is he?" Quicksilver tested. "The Demon?"
"How did you know!" Gwen was quite surprised.
"If it's him, it makes sense." Quicksilver wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. "In my whole life, I've only met one person faster than me, and that's the Demon... No, now it's two."
Quicksilver looked at Gwen, his eyes filled with wariness.
"No, no, no, you are indeed fast. I can't beat you in terms of speed!" The humble Gwen waved her hands and said, "I just have very fast reflexes. I can predict your moves in advance. Of course, if you were a bit faster, I'd have no choice but to take the hit..."
"Really?"
Quicksilver suddenly dashed out, pushing his speed to the absolute limit he could reach.
"!!!"
Gwen was just about to reply to Quicksilver when her Spider-Sense signaled another alarm, and she attacked subconsciously.
Quicksilver was sent flying again, crashing through a wall.
"I'm really sorry..."
As Gwen spoke, she continuously shot webs to bind Quicksilver's legs. She didn't feel at ease until his legs were completely wrapped in webs, as tight as a mummy.
She looked at Quicksilver. Due to the impact, his face was covered in bruises, and blood was streaming down.
"Wait a moment, I'll call an ambulance for you right now!"
Gwen was about to pull out her phone when she suddenly froze... because she saw the wounds on Quicksilver's face healing rapidly. The wounds that were still bleeding healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.
This scene felt familiar to Gwen. She remembered the Spider-Beastman she had encountered in Queens.
"This is..." Gwen was full of caution. "It's best if you can recover from your injuries on your own. Fortunately, I've already restrained you."
"This is all thanks to the Demon!" Quicksilver said flatly, seemingly not proud of his powerful healing ability. "And are you sure you've restrained me?"
Suddenly, Quicksilver stood up. His two legs, which were almost bound together, began to move in small steps. Although his stride was small, the frequency was very high. His running speed was only slow compared to his original speed; in the eyes of an ordinary person, it was still as fast as a bolt of purple lightning.
Moreover, while running, he was continuously unraveling the webs on his body. At his speed, those webs wouldn't be able to restrict him for long.
"Hey! Stop! Think about your sister who's controlled by the Demon. She definitely wouldn't want to see you doing this. We can go rescue her together!"
Gwen chased after him. Fortunately, Quicksilver's speed was reduced, and with the trail of webs as markers, she was able to keep up.
Chapter 185 Anti-gravity Field
Quicksilver seemed to know that with Gwen's intervention, he couldn't complete the assassination mission, so he changed his plan and began his escape.
Unlike ordinary Agents or assassins, Quicksilver, as Baron Strucker's secret weapon, held a very high rank, and even the failure of this mission wouldn't affect him.
Gwen pursued Quicksilver until she entered an abandoned factory district.
Here, Quicksilver completely vanished without a trace, and there were no webs as markers. But Gwen refused to give up; Quicksilver was very powerful, and given the faction he belonged to, letting him go would pose a great danger. Gwen wanted to do everything in her power to arrest him.
Gwen cautiously stepped into the abandoned factory. With her spider-sense, she wasn't afraid, and combined with the Iron Spider Suit's defense, even if Quicksilver ambushed her from the shadows, it wouldn't pose a threat.
It was somewhat dark inside the factory. Gwen crawled along the walls, moving very carefully, not making a sound.
Suddenly, she heard some muffled voices coming through a wall.
"A kid actually flipped a truck!"
"It's incredible, it's an anti-gravity field..."
Without a clue, Gwen chose to follow the direction of the sound. She moved silently through the factory buildings, each leap cautious. Soon, she entered an unfinished building and arrived in the stairwell.
The outside of the spiral staircase used steel pipes as railings, and the unfinished building hadn't been roofed yet, so a beam of light shone down from directly above.
Hidden in the shadows, Gwen also saw the people in the stairwell: a strange group consisting of two young women and three children.
One of the women even looked familiar, but Gwen couldn't quite remember who she was... "Witness the moment of miracle!"
One of the little girls said, picking up a wine bottle and extending it beyond the spiral staircase to drop it. But strangely, after a few seconds, there was no loud crash of the bottle breaking...
Even more astonishing, the wine bottle actually dropped down from the floor above again. The bottle moved repeatedly between the floors, as if the bottom of this unfinished building had a portal connecting to the sky.
"What?" Gwen exclaimed, peering out from between the floors and witnessing this scene.
She was only tracking a HYDRA superhuman criminal, so how did she accidentally discover an unfinished building producing supernatural phenomena?
A brown-haired woman in the stairwell also exclaimed in astonishment after seeing this incredible sight. She picked up a soda can from beside her, preparing to experiment herself.
The woman threw the soda can down. After a few seconds of falling, the can indeed disappeared again, but that soda can didn't return from above, cycling between the two like the wine bottle.
"Uh..." The other red-haired woman was a bit confused. She asked, "Where did it go?"
"Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't. There's no pattern," a little boy explained.
"No, there must be a pattern, it just hasn't been discovered yet!" the brown-haired woman said assertively, pulling an instrument from her backpack.
Gwen watched with curiosity. She quietly approached to observe; getting close to a few ordinary people was simple for Spider-Woman.
The brown-haired woman adjusted the instrument. The waveform displayed on the electronic screen constantly changed, with pointers and readings fluctuating greatly at all times.
"I've never seen such strange data," she said, "except..."
"Except in New Mexico?" the red-haired woman teased. "That stormy night, we drove in the wilderness and picked up a man who fell from the sky. He wasn't wearing clothes, revealing huge pectoral muscles and..."
"Darcy!" she interrupted, annoyed.
Listening to these words from the shadows, Gweninstantly connected the dots. The man who landed in New Mexico must be Thor, right? Then the brown-haired woman in front of her must be Thor's girlfriend, Dr. Jane Foster. No wonder she looked so familiar...
Jane frowned, holding the instrument. She pulled out the instrument's signal cable and rotated it, then suddenly stopped.
"Who? Who's there!" Jane's face was full of vigilance. "Come out!"
Gwen, in the shadows, was startled. She had absolutely not revealed any trace, but it was normal for Jane, a Nobel Prize-nominated Dr., to have the ability to detect her.
Gwen then appeared. Her sudden appearance startled everyone else. After all, supernatural phenomena were occurring, and the person who appeared subsequently also carried a mysterious and eerie aura.
"Who are you?"
Jane took a step back. Darcy, the intern beside her, put her hands on her chest and made a showy boxing gesture.
"Hey! Don't be nervous, I mean no harm!" Gwen quickly explained. "I'm Spider-Woman, a Superhero from New York. If you use Twitter or Instagram, you should know me..."
"Spider-Woman? Is it really you? Did you come to Londonthrough this portal?" the little girl asked, curious and excited. She seemed to be a fan of Gwen's too.
"Spider-Woman? Shouldn't you be in New York?" Darcyasked, confused.
"The Anti-Demon Alliance is on a mission in London," Gwen explained directly. "Hello, Ms. Jane. Thor is also a member of the Anti-Demon Alliance. We are all friends!"
"I don't know any Thor!" Jane said angrily.
"She just dumped that alien!" Darcy explained from the side.
"So why are you here?" Jane suddenly asked, pointing outside the staircase. "Has S.H.I.E.L.D. also discovered it? A miraculous anti-gravity field."
"Probably not, but now it has been discovered. I need to report this situation to Mr. Stark," Gwen said. "I came here to pursue a suspect who tried to assassinate the President. Have you seen anyone suspicious?"
"Suspicious person?" Darcy nodded and said, "She approached us secretly, wearing a pink suit with a spider sticker on her back..."
"Excuse me, that's not a sticker, so you haven't seen anyone suspicious," Gwen couldn't help but interrupt.
It seemed that the superhuman named "Quicksilver" had already escaped. With his speed after breaking free from the web's restraint, perhaps only a demon could catch him. Gwen wisely chose to give up...
However, she didn't come away with nothing. She successfully prevented HYDRA from launching a terrorist attack, and learned that demons were still on Earth, although this information still needed verification...
Finally, there was this miraculous anti-gravity field. Gwenbelieved it had great research value.
"Mr. Stark!" Gwen called out to Tony through the comms channel, but there was no response. Gwen continued to call, "Captain? Ms. Hill? Agent Barton..."
Still, no one responded to her.
"Damn it, the signal in this area is being interfered with, even communications are cut off!"
Seeing this, Jane finally breathed a sigh of relief...
