Chapter 173 The building is deserted!
The night was as dark as ink, and moonlight, filtering through sparse clouds, spilled onto the streets of Manhattan, casting a silvery veil over the bustling city. Lin En Harvey's home was located in a quiet neighborhood, and at this moment, he stood by the window, gazing at the night outside, his heart filled with complex emotions.
In the living room, Hans sat on the sofa, his expression tense and wary, his eyes constantly darting towards the door, as if searching for an opportunity to escape.
Lin En turned around and looked at Hans, a hint of almost imperceptible gentleness in his voice: "Hans, I know you're scared and confused right now. But please trust me, I genuinely want to help you."
Hans didn't speak, only lowered his head, his hands clasped tightly together, appearing somewhat ill at ease.
He knew full well the discrimination and pursuit he faced as a Mutant in this society.
And Lin En, this FBI Agent, although he was temporarily protecting him, who could guarantee that he wouldn't suddenly change his mind and hand him over to those who wanted to exploit him?
"Hans, I brought you home not to imprison you, but to keep you in a safe place, far from those who are hunting you," Lin En continued, trying to move Hans with his sincerity.
Hans looked up, meeting Lin En's eyes, seemingly searching for an answer.
He slowly began to speak: "Lin En, I know you are a good person, but I can't keep living like this.
I must find a place that belongs to me, a place that can truly accept me."
Lin En sighed; he understood Hans's worries and desires.
But he also knew that letting Hans leave now would undoubtedly push him into a dangerous abyss.
"Hans, leaving now will only put you in a more dangerous situation," Lin En said earnestly.
"Those who want to use you won't let you go.
And I am the only one who can offer you protection."
Hans fell silent, knowing Lin En spoke the truth.
But the fear and unease in his heart made it difficult for him to make a decision.
He looked out at the night, a strong impulse surging within him—to escape!
Just as Lin En turned to prepare some food for Hans, Hanssuddenly stood up and walked silently towards the door.
His movements were light and swift, like a leopard poised to strike.
However, Lin En's vigilance far surpassed that of an ordinary person.
He sensed the anomaly almost the instant Hans moved.
He sharply turned around, just in time to see Hans about to touch the doorknob.
"Hans, stop!" Lin En sharply commanded, his voice echoing in the night, carrying an undeniable authority.
Hans's body trembled slightly; he stopped and turned to face Lin En.
His eyes held both fear and unwillingness.
"You… you already noticed me?" Hans's voice trembled slightly; he hadn't expected his plan to be discovered so quickly.
Lin En walked up to Hans, his gaze piercing as he stared at him: "Hans, do you think I'm bluffing? I'm telling you, from the moment you walked in, I've been watching you.
Every one of your movements, every one of your glances, nothing escapes my eyes."
Hans lowered his head, knowing he had nowhere to hide in front of Lin En.
He tried to explain: "Lin En, I just… I just wanted to see the World outside, I didn't really want to escape."
Lin En shook his head, a hint of disappointment in his tone: "Hans, you're wrong.
Running away doesn't solve problems; it only puts you in deeper trouble.
You should trust me, trust that I can help you find a better way out."
Hans was silent for a moment, then looked up, meeting Lin En's eyes: "Lin En, I know you're a good person, and I want to trust you.
But… but I'm really scared, scared that those people will find me and lock me back in that dark place again."
Lin En looked at Hans's fear-filled eyes, and a strong protective urge welled up within him.
He reached out and gently patted Hans's shoulder: "Hans, don't be afraid.
As long as I'm here, no one can harm you.
I will help you find a place that belongs to you, a place where you can truly feel safe and free."
A glimmer of tears flashed in Hans's eyes, and he tightly gripped Lin En's hand: "Lin En, thank you.
I really… I really don't know how to repay you."
Lin En smiled, his tone relaxed: "Repay? You just need to trust me, that's enough.
Now, let's go back to the living room and talk about our next plan."
With that, Lin En led Hans back to the living room, and the two sat on the sofa, beginning to discuss their next steps.
Lin En thoroughly explained his plan to Hans, including how to find the experimental Base, how to rescue other imprisoned Mutants, and how to expose the crimes of those criminals.
As Hans listened to Lin En's plan, his fear and unease gradually dissipated.
He began to believe that perhaps he could truly find a place that belonged to him, a place that could accept him and make him feel safe and free.
The next morning, sunlight pierced through sparse clouds, spilling onto the vast, boundless desert.
Golden sand glittered dazzlingly under the sun, like an endless golden ocean.
Hans, Lin En, and a group of FBI Agents stood at the edge of the desert, their gaze focused on the ancient map in Hans's hand.
"This is it," Hans pointed to a mark on the map, a hint of almost imperceptible tension in his voice.
"This secret passage leads to the core area of that experimental Base, but… but it might be full of traps."
Lin En looked at Hans, his eyes revealing determination and trust: "Hans, since we've come this far, there's no turning back.
No matter how many dangers lie ahead, we will face them together."
Hans nodded, taking a deep breath as if to brace himself.
Then, he crouched down and began to dig in the sand.
Soon, a hidden entrance appeared before everyone.
The opening was small, just big enough for one person to pass through, but a chilling aura emanated from within, sending shivers down one's spine.
"Everyone be careful, follow behind me," Hans said, and was the first to duck into the opening.
Lin En and the FBI Agents followed closely, walking cautiously, afraid of triggering any traps.
The secret passage was dim and narrow, with only the faint light of flashlights leading the way.
The air was filled with a damp and musty smell, as if no one had been here for a long time.
Hans walked at the very front, using the route from his memory to guide everyone past one trap after another.
However, just as they were about to reach the end of the secret passage, a violent tremor suddenly occurred.
Immediately after, the walls on both sides of the passage began to slowly move, threatening to trap everyone inside.
"Oh no! It's a trap!" Hans shouted, quickly stopping to try and find a way to stop the mechanism.
Lin En was right behind Hans, his gaze searching around: "Hans, quickly look for any switches or buttons!"
Hans frantically fumbled along the wall, but it was completely smooth, with nowhere to operate anything.
Just then, an even more violent tremor came, and rubble began to fall from the ceiling of the passage.
"Quick! We have to get out of here as fast as possible!" Lin En yelled, pushing Hans forward, trying to make him speed up.
However, Hans suddenly stopped.
He stared ahead, his eyes filled with terror: "Lin En… ahead… there's no way out!"
Lin En froze; he quickly went to Hans's side and indeed saw that the passage ahead was sealed by a huge stone slab.
And at this moment, the wall behind them was still closing in; they were completely trapped here.
"How could this happen?" an FBI Agent cried out in fear.
"Don't panic!" Lin En roared, trying to keep himself calm.
"Hans, are you sure this is the only way out?"
Hans nodded, his face pale: "I… I'm sure.
The map only marked this one secret passage."
Lin En frowned; he knew they couldn't just sit there and wait for death.
He looked around, trying to find a glimmer of hope.
Suddenly, his gaze fell on a section of the wall illuminated by the flashlight.
There was an inconspicuous protrusion there, looking like some kind of mechanism.
"Hans, look at that protrusion!" Lin En said, pointing to the protrusion on the wall.
"Try to press it."
Upon hearing this, Hans immediately reached out and pressed the protrusion. With a click, the stone slab in front slowly moved aside, revealing a passage.
"Quick! Let's go!" Lynn shouted, leading everyone swiftly through the passage, escaping the dangerous secret tunnel.
When they finally emerged from the secret passage into a spacious underground area, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. This was clearly the core area of the Base, but it was eerily silent, as if no one was there.
"Everyone be careful, there might still be an ambush here," Lynn warned, leading them cautiously forward.
However, their vigilance didn't last long. Just as they were about to reach a laboratory, gunshots suddenly rang out. Bullets echoed in the empty underground space, narrowly missing their vital spots.
"Find cover!" Lynn yelled, quickly pulling Hans behind a nearby laboratory table. Other FBI Agents also scrambled for cover, engaging in a fierce firefight with the enemy.
The enemies were clearly prepared; they were numerous and well-equipped. Although Lynn and the FBI Agents fought valiantly, they gradually began to lose the upper hand.
"Hans, do you have any way to help us get out of this predicament?" Lynn asked Hans while returning fire.
Hans looked around nervously, and suddenly his gaze fell on a control panel: "Lynn, over there! That control panel might control the defense system here!"
Upon hearing this, Lynn immediately aimed at the control panel. He took a deep breath and steadily pulled the trigger. The bullet accurately hit a button on the control panel, and instantly, an alarm blared throughout the entire underground space.
The enemies were clearly startled by the sudden alarm; their offensive instantly weakened. Lynn and the FBI Agents seized the opportunity to counterattack, using the terrain advantage to gradually force the enemies back.
After a fierce battle, the enemies were finally repelled. Although Lynn and the FBI Agents sustained minor injuries, they managed to save their lives. They looked at the messy ground and the enemy corpses, feeling a lingering fear.
"Hans, are you alright?" Lynn asked Hans, concerned.
Hans shook his head: "I'm fine. Thank you, Lynn. If it weren't for you, I might have died here already."
Lynn smiled: "We're partners, aren't we? Partners face difficulties together and defeat enemies together."
Saying that, he patted Hans's shoulder: "Alright, we need to leave here quickly. There might be other ambushes here, so we must be careful."
Hans nodded, taking a deep breath as if preparing for the challenges ahead. Then, he followed Lynn and the FBI Agents, continuing deeper into the mysterious experimental Base.
Lynn and Hans walked through the dark corridor, their footsteps echoing in the empty space. They arrived in front of a closed door, its mottled marks telling of its past glory and present desolation. Lynn took a deep breath, grasped the doorknob, and pushed hard. The door slowly opened, revealing the interior of the Mutant laboratory.
However, the sight that greeted them stunned them. The laboratory was empty; the once busy researchers, advanced experimental equipment, and the imprisoned Mutants were all gone. Only a solitary experimental table remained, with some unfinished experimental apparatus and scattered documents on it.
"How could this be?" Hans said in disbelief, his gaze searching the laboratory, hoping to find a clue.
Lynn frowned. He walked to the experimental table and carefully examined the documents. Suddenly, his gaze was drawn to a handwritten note. On the note were a few hastily scrawled words: "Lisa, danger, run!"
"Lisa?" Hans repeated in confusion, "Who is this?"
Lynn looked up at Hans, a hint of worry in his eyes: "It seems we arrived too late. The people here might have evacuated already, but... but someone seems to have been left behind."
Hans was startled; he quickly understood Lynn's meaning: "You mean, that Lisa?"
Lynn nodded, pointing to a hidden corner under the experimental table: "Look there."
Hans followed Lynn's finger and indeed saw a small girl curled up in the corner. She wore ragged clothes, her hair was disheveled, and her face was full of fear and unease. Her eyes were fixed on Lynn and Hans, as if they were her only hope at that moment.
"Lisa, don't be afraid," Lynn said softly, trying to approach the little girl, but she suddenly recoiled, a hint of wariness flashing in her eyes.
"Don't come closer!" she shrieked, her voice trembling slightly, "Are you here to catch me?"
Lynn froze; he hadn't expected such a reaction from the little girl. He looked at Hans, who gently shook his head, signaling him not to be impatient.
"Lisa, we're not here to catch you," Hans said gently, his voice seemingly possessing a magic that slightly eased the little girl's tension, "We're here to help you. Can you tell us what happened here?"
The little girl, Lisa, hesitated for a moment. She looked at Lynn and Hans, seemingly judging whether they were trustworthy. Finally, she slowly opened her mouth and recounted what had happened.
It turned out that Lisa was a Mutant, imprisoned in this laboratory because of her special abilities. The researchers in the laboratory had been experimenting on her, trying to find a way to control Mutant abilities. However, just a few days ago, something unexpected happened in the laboratory. A group of unknown individuals broke into the laboratory, killed most of the researchers, and tried to take all the Mutants.
"I was undergoing an experiment at the time, and they injected me with a strange drug," Lisa said, a hint of fear in her voice, "That drug made my abilities go out of control, and I... I killed a few people."
Lynn and Hans were both shocked to hear this. They hadn't expected that this little girl had gone through such a terrifying experience.
"What happened then?" Lynn asked.
"Later, those people seemed to notice my abnormality," Lisa continued, "They were afraid I would lose control again, so they left me here and fled."
Hans clenched his fists, a flash of anger in his eyes: "These people are truly insane! How could they treat you like this?"
Lisa lowered her head and said nothing. Her tears welled up in her eyes, but in the end, they didn't fall. She knew that crying wouldn't solve anything.
"Lisa, you don't have to worry," Lynn said, walking over to Lisa and gently patting her shoulder, "We will protect you and won't let anyone harm you again."
Lisa looked up at Lynn and Hans. A glimmer of trust flashed in her eyes, but more than that, there was confusion and helplessness. She didn't know what her future held, nor where she should go.
"Lynn, what are we planning to do next?" Hans asked, looking at Lisa with concern.
Lynn pondered for a moment, then slowly spoke: "We can't let Lisa stay here; it's too dangerous. We must find a safe place for her to live a normal life."
Hans nodded, knowing that what Lynn said was true. However, they were currently in the middle of a desolate area, surrounded by barrenness. Where could a safe place be?
"Perhaps, we can go find my friends," Lisa suddenly said, a hint of hope in her voice, "They are also Mutants, and they have been looking for a place that can accept us."
Lynn and Hans exchanged smiles; they seemed to see a ray of hope. Perhaps Lisa's friends could indeed show them a way, leading them to the Haven for Mutants.
"Lisa, can you take us to find your friends?" Lynn asked.
Lisa nodded: "I can try. But we have to be careful; there might still be ambushes from those people here."
Chapter 174 Hans' identity!
The afterglow of the setting sun spilled onto the streets of Manhattan, the golden light intertwined with the city's hustle and bustle, forming a unique picture. Lynn and Hans walked through the bustling crowd, returning to this familiar yet strange place. After escaping from the Mutantlaboratory, they had experienced too many twists and turns and changes, and now they could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"Hans, what are your plans for the future?" Lynn looked at Hans beside him, with a hint of concern in his tone. He knew that Hans had once been a marginalized Mutant, and although he was now free from the laboratory's confinement, the road ahead was still full of unknowns.
Hans was stunned; he didn't expect Lynn to ask this question so suddenly. He lowered his head and thought for a moment, then smiled bitterly: "I... I never really thought about it. I always thought I would be imprisoned by those researchers until I died."
Lynn frowned; he was clearly dissatisfied with Hans's answer. He stopped and looked at Hans seriously: "Hans, you can't think like that. You are a person, a person with free will and the right to choose. You can't give up your future because of your past experiences."
Hans looked up at Lynn's firm gaze, and a strange sense of emotion welled up in his heart. He had never seen such a sincere and determined person, nor had he ever felt such warmth and care. He knew that Lynn was a trustworthy person, and also a person who could change his destiny.
"But... what can I do?" Hans asked hesitantly, his tone revealing a hint of confusion and helplessness.
Lynn patted Hans on the shoulder and smiled: "Hans, you have abilities that others don't. You can do many things, as long as you are willing to try."
Hans was startled; he had never thought that his abilities were an advantage. In the laboratory, he was studied as a monster; in society, he was rejected as an anomaly. He had never thought that his abilities could become a value, a value recognized by society.
"Lynn... do you really think I can?" Hans's voice trembled slightly, and his eyes flickered with hope.
Lynn nodded, his tone firm and powerful: "Hans, I believe in you. Moreover, I have a proposal, I wonder if you are willing to consider it."
Hans looked at Lynn in confusion, waiting for him to continue.
"I want to invite you to work under me," Lynn said, his eyes revealing an expectation, "I have a team, and they are all fighting for justice and freedom. I believe that your joining will make our team even stronger."
Hans was stunned; he didn't expect Lynn to make such an invitation. He looked at Lynn, and a complex emotion welled up in his heart. He knew this was an opportunity, an opportunity to change his destiny. But he also knew that this meant he would face more challenges and dangers.
"Lynn... I... I don't understand. Why do you trust me? I am a Mutant, an outcast rejected by society." Hans's voice was a little choked, and tears flickered in his eyes.
Lynn looked at Hans, his heart filled with sympathy and understanding. He knew that Hans had experienced too much suffering and torment, and he needed time to accept and adapt to this new World. But he also knew that Hans was a person with potential, and as long as he was given a chance, he would surely be able to shine.
"Hans, I trust you, not because you are a Mutant, but because you are a person with conscience, courage, and responsibility," Lynn said, his tone firm and warm, "I know you have experienced a lot of pain and torment. However, these experiences have not made you decadent and depressed, but rather have made you stronger and braver. I believe that you can become a member of our team and contribute your strength to our cause."
Listening to Lynn's words, a warm current flowed through Hans's heart. He had never felt such sincere care and trust, nor had he ever thought that he could become a valuable asset in the eyes of others. He looked at Lynn, his eyes shining with firm resolve: "Lynn, I am willing to join your team. I will do my best to contribute my strength to your cause."
Lynn smiled, his smile filled with relief and joy. He knew that he had made the right decision. Hans's joining not only made their team stronger but also allowed Hans to find his own belonging and mission.
"Hans, welcome to our team." Lynn extended his hand and shook Hans's hand tightly, "From now on, we are comrades. No matter how many difficulties and challenges we encounter in the future, we will face them together and overcome them together."
Hans nodded, his eyes shining with firm resolve: "Lynn, I will remember your words. From now on, I am a member of your team. I will do my best to fight for our cause to the end."
The two looked at each other and smiled, as if they had found a spiritual connection at this moment. They knew that the road ahead was still long and difficult, but as long as they were united and moved forward bravely, nothing could stop them.
In the bustling district of Manhattan, Lynn hurried between the tall buildings, his destination the FBI Headquarters building. He felt both nervous and determined, for he knew that he was about to have an unusual conversation with his superior, Richard. This conversation not only concerned his personal will but also involved Hans's future—his comrade who had experienced life and death together in the Mutantlaboratory but now faced social exclusion and identity dilemmas.
Walking into Richard's office, Lynn felt a suppressive atmosphere. Richard was sitting behind a large desk, his brows tightly furrowed, seemingly troubled by a pile of tedious documents. Seeing Lynn, he merely looked up indifferently, motioning for him to sit down.
"Lynn, you've come at a good time. Do you have a progress report on the recent Mutant case?" Richard's voice sounded a little tired, but he still maintained the authority of a superior.
Lynn took a deep breath, deciding to cut straight to the chase: "Richard, I'm not here for a case report today. I want to talk about Hans."
Richard's eyes instantly sharpened: "Hans? That Mutant? Why are you bringing him up?"
"I want him to join the FBI, to become one of us." Lynn's words were firm and powerful, as if every word had been carefully considered.
Richard slammed his hand on the table and stood up: "Lynn, are you crazy? The FBI is an agency that upholds justice, not a shelter! Let a Mutant join, have you considered the consequences? What will the public think? What will our colleagues think?"
Lynn did not back down; he looked directly into Richard's eyes: "I have considered all the consequences, but I am more aware of Hans's value. He not only has extraordinary abilities, but more importantly, he has a heart that longs for justice and is willing to sacrifice himself to protect others. In the Mutant laboratory, he saved me and other innocent people. Doesn't such a person deserve a chance from us?"
Richard's expression was complex; he was clearly touched by Lynn's words, but his inner concerns had not been completely eliminated: "Lynn, I understand your position, but this is not a simple matter. Mutants have always been controversial in society, and letting Hans join the FBI will undoubtedly cause a huge uproar."
"An uproar is inevitable, but we cannot give up doing the right thing just because we are afraid of an uproar." Lynn's tone became more impassioned, "Richard, you and I both know that the FBI's duty is to protect the people and combat crime. Hans's abilities, if used for good, will be a great asset to us. Moreover, this is also an opportunity to show the public that Mutants can also contribute to society."
Richard fell silent; he walked to the window and gazed at the city outside. Lynn's words stirred waves in his heart, and he had to admit that Lynn had a point. As a leader, he should have the courage to break prejudices and try new possibilities.
"Alright," Richard finally turned around, his eyes flashing with determination, "but this matter must be handled with caution. Hans needs to first pass a series of rigorous tests and evaluations to ensure that he can be competent for FBI work and will not pose a threat to society. Moreover, his identity must be strictly confidential and only revealed when necessary."
Lynn breathed a sigh of relief; he knew this was already a huge concession. He looked at Richard gratefully, "Thank you, Richard. I'll make sure Hans is ready for all the challenges."
A few days later, Hans was secretly taken to the FBI's training Base. He looked a bit uncomfortable in the temporary training uniform, but his eyes were full of anticipation and determination. Lynn stood beside him, patting his shoulder encouragingly.
"Hans, are you ready?" Lynn asked, a hint of undetectable tension in his voice.
Hans nodded. Although his heart was also filled with trepidation, he knew this was the moment to change his fate: "I'm ready, Lynn. Whatever the outcome, I'm grateful for this opportunity you've given me."
In the following days, Hans underwent unprecedented rigorous training. From physical fitness tests to shooting training, from tactical drills to psychological evaluations, each item tested his limits. But he never gave up; every fall made him stronger, and every failure made him crave success more.
At the same time, Lynn was secretly garnering more support for Hans. He communicated with his colleagues, sharing Hans's story and transformation, gradually winning the understanding and support of some people. Although there were still dissenting voices, Lynn believed that time would prove everything.
Finally, it was the last day of the evaluation. Hans stood in the center of the shooting range, facing dozens of moving targets. His heart raced, but his eyes were exceptionally firm. With a command, he quickly pulled the trigger, each shot accurately hitting the target.
After the evaluation, Richard personally announced the results: "Hans, you performed exceptionally well. After comprehensive consideration, the FBI has decided to officially accept you as one of our members. Welcome to our team."
Hans was stunned; he couldn't believe his ears. It wasn't until Lynn came over and hugged him tightly that he realized it was all true. Tears welled up in his eyes, tears of joy and gratitude.
"Thank you, Lynn. Thank you for giving me this opportunity," Hans's voice was choked.
Lynn smiled and patted his back, "Don't thank me, Hans. You earned this with your own efforts. Remember, you're not just a Mutant; you're also an FBI Agent. Your mission is to protect the people and uphold justice."
Hans nodded, his eyes filled with determination and pride. He knew that from this moment on, his fate had completely changed. He would fight alongside Lynn, facing future challenges and adventures together.
The next morning, the sun's rays filtered through the sparse clouds, scattering across the streets of Manhattan. Lynn had gotten up early; he stood by the window, watching the city gradually awaken in the morning light. His heart was full of anticipation because today he was going to take Hans to find a home of their own.
Hans had also packed his luggage early; he stood beside Lynn, his eyes gleaming with anticipation for the future. "Lynn, thank you. If it weren't for you, I might still be in that dark laboratory," Hans's voice was low and sincere.
Lynn turned around and patted Hans's shoulder, "We're friends, aren't we? Friends help each other and face difficulties together."
The two smiled at each other, then walked out the door. They walked through bustling streets and arrived at a quiet community. It was shaded by green trees, and the houses were scattered in an orderly fashion, as if isolated from the World. Lynn knew this was the place they wanted to find.
"Hans, what do you think of this place?" Lynn asked.
Hans looked around and nodded, "It's very good, I like it a lot. It's very quiet here, very suitable for us."
"Then let's go look at the house," Lynn said, leading Hansto a house for rent. It was a two-story building with a simple and elegant exterior and a refined interior.
The landlady was a kind old woman who greeted them warmly. "Welcome to view the house. I'm the landlady here; you can call me Mary."
Lynn and Hans exchanged a few pleasantries with Mary, then began to tour the house. Each room was spacious and bright, and the furniture was all inclusive. Hans was particularly satisfied; he felt he had finally found a place to settle down.
Just then, Hans suddenly remembered something: "Lynn, I... I want to bring Lisa too. She's a little girl I met in the laboratory. Like me, she's also a Mutant. I feel she's lonely, and I want to take care of her."
Lynn was slightly stunned by the request. He hadn't expected Hans to ask for such a thing, but he quickly understood Hans's intention. He patted Hans's shoulder, "Hans, this is your decision. I support you; Lisa is also a poor child. Let's help her if we can."
Hans's eyes flashed with gratitude upon hearing this. "Thank you, Lynn. I knew you'd agree."
So, the two found Lisa. When Lisa heard she could live with them, her eyes sparkled with surprise. She tightly held Hans's hand, as if she had found someone to rely on.
The three returned to their new home together, and old lady Mary also warmly welcomed Lisa. She prepared a lavish lunch for them, the table laden with various delicacies.
At the dining table, everyone ate and chatted, and the atmosphere was very harmonious. Hans and Lisarecounted their experiences in the laboratory. Although that time was full of fear and pain, in their narration, it seemed to have turned into an adventure story.
Lynn listened with great interest, occasionally interjecting with questions to make the atmosphere more lively. Old lady Mary also listened intently; she hadn't expected these three young people to have gone through so many twists and turns.
"You are truly strong," old lady Mary said emotionally. "I'm glad you found this place, and I hope you can find a sense of home here."
Hans's eyes welled up with tears upon hearing this. He had never felt such a warm atmosphere, nor had he ever experienced the feeling of home. He looked at old lady Mary and Lynn gratefully, "Thank you, you've made me feel the warmth of home."
Lisa also nodded in agreement, "Yes, I like it here too. Thank you for being willing to accept me."
After lunch, everyone began to divide the work to clean the new home. Hans was responsible for cleaning the living room and bedrooms, while Lisa helped organize the kitchen and bathrooms. Lynn and old lady Mary decorated the living room together.
Amidst the busyness, time quietly slipped away. Before they knew it, dusk had fallen. Everyone sat around the living room sofa, watching the lights gradually illuminate outside the window, their hearts filled with peace and contentment.
"What are we eating tonight?" Lisa suddenly asked. Her voice broke the silence and brought everyone back from their thoughts.
"How about we have hot pot?" Hans suggested. "When I was in the laboratory, I always wanted to eat a hot hot pot."
"Okay!" Lynn and Lisa agreed in unison. They both loved the lively atmosphere and rich taste of hot pot.
So, everyone began to prepare the ingredients for the hot pot. Hans was responsible for slicing meat and washing vegetables, while Lisa helped prepare seasonings and tableware. Lynn was responsible for starting the Fire and boiling Water. Amidst the busyness, everyone seemed to have become a family, and their tacit understanding and intimacy continued to increase.
Finally, the hot pot was ready. Everyone gathered around the dining table and began to enjoy the delicious dinner. The steaming hot pot emitted an enticing aroma, making one salivate. Everyone ate and chatted, and the atmosphere was very lively.
"Hans, what are your plans for the future?" Lynn suddenly asked. He wanted to know Hans's plans for the future.
Hans was silent for a moment upon hearing this. He looked up at the window, his eyes gleaming with firm determination: "I want to become an FBI Agent, just like you. I want to use my abilities to protect others and fight crime."
Lynn's eyes flashed with appreciation upon hearing this. "That's a very good goal. I believe you can achieve it."
Lisa also nodded in agreement, "Yes, Brother Hans is amazing! He will definitely become an excellent Agent!"
Chapter 175 Lin En bravely stood up for justice!
With everyone's encouragement and support, Hans's confidence grew even stronger.
He knew he still had a long way to go, but as long as he had the companionship and support of his friends, he would surely overcome difficulties and achieve his dreams.
After dinner, everyone continued to sit around chatting.
They talked about their past and future, as well as the interesting and embarrassing things between them.
Amidst laughter, time quietly slipped away.
Before they knew it, the night had grown deep.
After bidding each other goodnight, everyone returned to their respective rooms.
Lying on the soft bed, Hans felt an unprecedented sense of peace and contentment.
He knew he had finally found a place he could call home.
Here, he had friends, warmth, and hope.
He closed his eyes, his heart filled with anticipation and longing for the future.
He knew that as long as everyone worked together, they would surely create a better future.
Night fell, stars twinkled, and moonlight filtered through the curtains, spilling onto the floor of their new home, adding a touch of mystery to the quiet night.
Lisa curled up on the bed, her breathing even and calm, already deep in slumber, with a lingering smile from the day's play on her face.
Hans and Lynn, however, sat on the living room sofa, the atmosphere becoming serious and focused.
"Hans, do you have any other clues about that mysterious organization that runs the experimental Base?" Lynn's voice was low and earnest; he knew the importance of this question.
That organization not only concerned their past experiences but might also hide future crises.
Hans frowned, lost in thought.
Those days in the laboratory were both a nightmare and a challenge for him, and he tried to recall every detail.
"Actually, there's one detail I haven't told you yet." Hansslowly began, his voice tinged with uncertainty, "Deep within the experimental Base, during an escape attempt, I unintentionally stumbled into a secret room.
Inside...there was a strange symbol."
"A symbol?" Lynn leaned forward slightly, his eyes sparkling with curiosity and eagerness, "What kind of symbol was it?"
"It was a dinosaur head symbol." Hans said, gesturing in the air to approximate the shape, "That symbol was very striking, carved into the wall of the secret room, like some kind of totem or emblem.
I just felt a chill down my spine at the time and didn't have time to look closely before I escaped."
Lynn's brows furrowed upon hearing this.
A dinosaur head symbol—this information sounded both unfamiliar and bizarre.
"Are you sure it was a dinosaur head? Not some other animal or pattern?" he pressed, trying to glean more details from Hans's description.
Hans nodded, his gaze firm: "I'm sure.
That symbol was very clear—a dinosaur head with its mouth open, sharp teeth, and fierce eyes.
Moreover, the atmosphere in that secret room felt very off; I sensed that some unspeakable secret was hidden there."
Lynn fell into deep thought.
The dinosaur head symbol—this clue seemed inconsistent with everything they had understood before.
Who exactly was that mysterious organization?
Why were they conducting Mutant experiments?
And why would they leave such a symbol in a secret room?
"What do you think this symbol means?" Hans broke the silence, his voice tinged with anxiety.
He knew that this symbol might hide unimaginable secrets and dangers.
Lynn shook his head, his expression grave: "It's unclear at the moment.
But we can start with this symbol; perhaps we can find more clues about that organization.
Hans, can you still recall the exact location of that secret room?
Perhaps we can go back and investigate it again."
Hans's eyes flickered with hesitation upon hearing this.
He knew what returning to that experimental Basemeant.
It was not just a recollection of the past, but a challenge to fear.
"I...I can try." he said softly, his voice carrying a hint of determination, "But, we must be careful.
The power of that organization should not be underestimated; they might still be looking for us."
Lynn nodded; he understood Hans's concerns.
However, to unravel this mystery, to find the truth about that organization, they had to move forward bravely.
"Don't worry, Hans.
We will be fully prepared and won't let anything happen." he reassured, also cheering himself on.
The two continued to discuss their plan; the night grew deeper, but their hearts were filled with determination and courage.
They knew that this night was just the beginning, and the road ahead would be long and difficult.
However, as long as they stood shoulder to shoulder, nothing could stop their progress.
The next morning, as the first rays of sunlight pierced through the clouds and fell upon the window sill of their new home, Lynn and Hans were already fully prepared.
They put on black tight-fitting clothes, hats, and sunglasses, ready to head to the experimental Base that had once left them with lingering fear.
Before setting off, Lynn specifically checked their equipment, ensuring everything was foolproof.
"Hans, are you sure it's okay for us to go like this?" he asked again, although he already had an answer in his heart, he still wanted to hear Hans's opinion.
Hans took a deep breath and nodded: "No problem, Lynn.
We are ready.
As long as we act carefully, we will surely find that secret room and uncover the secret of that symbol."
The two exchanged a smile, then walked out the door.
They passed through bustling streets and arrived at a secluded corner.
There was an abandoned factory area there, and the experimental Base was hidden within it.
They cautiously approached the Base, avoiding all surveillance cameras and patrols.
Finally, they arrived at the entrance of the secret room.
Hans nervously swallowed, took a deep breath, and pushed open the door of the secret room.
The secret room was pitch black, with only faint light seeping through the crack in the door.
Lynn turned on his flashlight, illuminating the path ahead.
They groped their way along the wall until they reached the spot where the dinosaur head symbol was carved.
The symbol remained striking and eerie, as if narrating some unknown secret.
Lynn carefully observed every detail of the symbol, trying to find clues within it.
Hans, meanwhile, vigilantly watched their surroundings, in case of any sudden occurrences.
"Lynn, look at this." Hans suddenly pointed to a line of small characters below the symbol.
Lynn quickly leaned in to examine it.
It was a line of text written in strange symbols that they had never seen before.
"What...what kind of writing is this?" Lynn asked, puzzled.
He tried hard to recall his knowledge but was unable to identify the meaning of these symbols.
Hans also shook his head: "I don't know either.
But, these symbols look very familiar, as if I've seen them somewhere before." He frowned in thought, then suddenly a light bulb went off, "That's right!
In one of the rooms at the experimental Base, I once saw an ancient book.
It had these symbols on it!"
Lynn's eyes flashed with hope upon hearing this: "Really?
Where is that book?
Can we find it?" He knew that this book might hold the key to unraveling the mystery.
Hans nodded: "I remember the location of that room.
Let's go find it quickly!" With that, he turned and walked towards the exit of the secret room.
Lynn followed closely, and together they left the secret room, embarking on the journey to find the book.
Lynn and Hans searched in the gloomy secret room for a long time but found nothing.
The secret room with the dinosaur head symbol seemed like a huge mystery, devouring all their hope and clues.
The two exchanged glances, their eyes flickering with disappointment and helplessness.
"It seems we came for nothing this time." Lynn sighed, his voice revealing a hint of exhaustion.
He patted the dust off his clothes, preparing to leave this depressing place.
Hans also shook his head, his expression downcast: "Yes, we searched every possible place, but found nothing.
That organization is truly too cunning."
The two walked out of the secret room and returned along the same path.
Along the way, they remained silent, each pondering their next steps.
However, in this silence, an urgent cry for help suddenly broke the night's tranquility.
"Help! Someone's robbing me!" The voice, filled with terror and despair, came from a nearby street.
Lynn and Hans exchanged glances upon hearing this, their eyes flashing with determination.
They knew that as former victims, they understood even more the importance of receiving help in times of crisis.
Therefore, they rushed without hesitation towards the direction of the voice.
When they arrived at the scene, they saw two thugs surrounding a woman, attempting to snatch her handbag.
The woman's face was pale, her hands clutching the bag tightly, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness.
"Stop!" Lynn roared, charging forward. His voice was deep and powerful, instantly attracting everyone's attention.
The two thugs turned their heads, saw Lynn and Hans, and a hint of disdain flashed in their eyes. "Hmph, where did this kid come from, daring to meddle in our business?" one of the thugs sneered, brandishing a gleaming knife.
Lynn was not intimidated; he stood calmly, his gaze like a torch, staring at the two thugs. "Put down the knife; you have already broken the law." His tone was firm and unquestionable.
The other thug scoffed, "Law? Here, we are the law!" With that, he also pulled out a knife and, along with his companion, approached Lynn and Hans.
Facing the two knife-wielding thugs, Lynn and Hans did not back down. They knew that if they retreated now, the woman would be in an even more dangerous situation. So, they exchanged a smile and tacitly sprang into action.
Lynn lunged forward, grabbed one of the thugs' wrists, and twisted it forcefully. The thug cried out in pain, and the knife in his hand flew out. At the same time, Hansalso acted quickly, subduing the other thug to the ground.
The entire process was fluid and clean. The two thugs hadn't even had time to react before they were firmly controlled by Lynn and Hans.
"You... what do you want to do? Let us go!" one of the thugs struggled, a hint of panic flashing in his eyes.
Lynn looked at them coldly: "What do we want to do? You should ask yourselves what you want to do? Robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, you have already broken the law. Now, come with us to the Police Station."
Upon hearing this, the two thugs' faces instantly turned pale. They knew they were truly caught this time. Under the escort of Lynn and Hans, they obediently walked towards the Police Station.
The rescued woman followed them, profusely thanking them with tears of gratitude: "Thank you, thank you so much. If it weren't for you, I really don't know what I would have done."
Lynn and Hans exchanged a smile, their hearts filled with satisfaction and pride. They knew that although they hadn't found any clues about the mysterious organization this time, being able to help others was also a rare reward.
At the Police Station, Lynn and Hans handed the two thugs over to the Police and recounted the details of the incident. The Police praised their brave actions and promised to deal with the two criminals according to the law.
By the time they left the Police Station, it was already very late. Lynn and Hans walked home, their hearts filled with warmth and strength. They knew that no matter how many difficulties and challenges they would encounter in the future, as long as they remained righteous and brave, they would surely be able to overcome everything.
"Lynn, thank you so much today," Hans suddenly said, a hint of gratitude in his voice.
Lynn smiled and patted Hans on the shoulder: "What are you talking about? We're friends, aren't we? Friends are supposed to help each other and face difficulties together."
Hans nodded, a resolute gleam in his eyes: "Yes, we are friends. No matter what we encounter in the future, I will face it with you."
The two smiled at each other and continued on their way home. The night breeze blew gently, carrying a hint of coolness and tranquility. But on this night, Lynn and Hans's hearts were filled with warmth and strength.
The next morning, sunlight filtered through the curtains, dappling Lynn's face. He rubbed his sleepy eyes, got out of bed, and began his busy day. As an ordinary employee of a technology company, Lynn's life was originally uneventful, but ever since he and Hans experienced that thrilling rescue operation last night, a strange passion seemed to have ignited in his heart.
He quickly washed up, put on a neat shirt and trousers, and set off for the company. Along the way, his mind kept replaying the events of last night, especially the dinosaur head logo. Although it had been confirmed last night that the two thugs were not connected to the mysterious organization, that logo was like a thorn, deeply embedded in his heart.
Entering the company building, Lynn took the elevator to his floor. He took a deep breath, trying to pull his thoughts back to work. However, as he passed by his supervisor Jack's office, he suddenly stopped. His gaze pierced through the slightly ajar door, landing on the faint logo on Jack's shoulder.
"Dinosaur head?" Lynn's heart jolted, and his heartbeat instantly accelerated. He tried to control his impulse, pretending to walk by casually, but a monstrous wave surged in his heart.
Throughout the morning, Lynn was absentmindedly handling his work. His gaze occasionally darted towards Jack's office, trying to confirm the logo again. Finally, at lunchtime, he found an opportunity to "casually" meet Jack.
"Supervisor Jack, your shirt is really nice, what brand is it?" Lynn asked casually, his gaze fixed on Jack's shoulder.
Jack smiled slightly, seemingly unaware of Lynn's unusual behavior: "Oh, this? I just bought it casually on the street; I also think it's quite special."
Lynn nodded, pretended to chat casually for a few moments, then hurried away. But a huge commotion had been stirred in his heart. That logo was exactly the same as the dinosaur head logo he had seen in the secret room last night! Could it be that Jack was actually connected to that mysterious organization?
Lynn spent the afternoon's work almost in agony. He constantly pondered how to further investigate this matter. Finally, the closing bell rang, and he eagerly found Hans.
"Hans, I found a big clue!" Lynn exclaimed excitedly as soon as he entered the room.
Hans was organizing documents; he looked up at Lynn, puzzled: "What big clue? Did you find that organization?"
Lynn shook his head, saying mysteriously: "Not directly finding the organization, but I found that someone within our company might be connected to them!"
Hans frowned upon hearing this: "Are you saying... someone in our company is a member of that organization?"
"Yes!" Lynn nodded affirmatively, "Today, I saw a dinosaur head logo on Supervisor Jack's shoulder, exactly the same as the one we saw in the secret room last night!"
Hans fell silent for a moment. He knew that if this clue was true, it would mean they were one step closer to uncovering the mysterious organization. However, he also understood that such matters could not be easily concluded.
"Lynn, are you sure you didn't see it wrong?" Hans asked in a deep voice, "That logo might just be a coincidence."
Lynn shook his head, his tone firm: "I'm sure I didn't see it wrong! That logo is too distinctive; I couldn't possibly have misremembered it!"
Hans looked at Lynn's determined eyes, and his heart couldn't help but waver. He knew Lynn was a cautious person and wouldn't jump to conclusions easily. Perhaps this clue was indeed worth investigating further.
"Alright," Hans took a deep breath, "So what do we plan to do next?"
A hint of resolve flashed in Lynn's eyes: "I plan to secretly investigate Jack and see if he's really connected to that organization."
Hans nodded in support: "Then be careful, don't tip them off. If you find anything, tell me immediately."
Over the next few days, Lynn began to secretly observe Jack's every move. He used his work convenience to quietly check Jack's computer files, monitor his whereabouts, and even tried to find clues in his office. However, after several days, he found nothing.
Jack's work performance had always been normal, with no suspicious behavior. There were no traces related to the mysterious organization in his computer files either. Lynn began to doubt his own judgment; could he have really seen it wrong?
However, just as he was about to give up, an unexpected discovery rekindled his hope. That day, he inadvertently saw Jack quietly enter a secluded conference room during his lunch break. Lynn's heart stirred, and he quietly followed him.
He hid outside the conference room door, peeking through the crack. He saw Jack sitting at the conference table, talking to a stranger. The stranger's face was covered by sunglasses, making his features indistinguishable, but on his shoulder, there was a clearly tattooed dinosaur head logo!
Chapter 176 The Secret of the Club!
Lynn's heart skipped a beat; he knew he hadn't been mistaken! Jack was indeed connected to that mysterious organization! He quietly pulled out his phone and took a picture of the scene as evidence.
However, just as he was about to leave, he accidentally stepped on a loose floorboard, which creaked. The people in the conference room immediately became alert. Jackpushed open the door and saw Lynn standing outside.
"Lynn? What are you doing here?" Jack's face darkened, and his tone revealed a hint of displeasure.
Lynn's heart tightened, but he quickly composed himself, forcing a casual smile. "Ah, nothing, I just happened to be passing by and heard some noise inside, so I came over out of curiosity."
Jack looked at Lynn suspiciously, seemingly not believing his explanation. But he didn't say anything more, just let out a cold snort, then turned and went back into the conference room.
Lynn knew that he had already alerted Jack this time. He had to tell Hans this news as soon as possible to discuss the next steps. However, just as he was about to leave, he suddenly realized his phone was gone! His heart sank; he knew something was terribly wrong. That phone contained the evidence he had just taken!
Lynn stood at the end of the corridor, a mix of emotions in his heart. He had thought his actions were cautious enough, yet he still accidentally startled Jack. What made him even more anxious was that his phone, which held crucial evidence, was now nowhere to be found. Just as he was filled with remorse and about to return to his office to search, a familiar figure appeared in his line of sight.
"Lynn, your phone." Jack walked over and handed him the phone, a subtle smile on his face.
Lynn froze. He took the phone, his heart filled with doubt. He quickly unlocked it and checked its contents. To his surprise, all the photos, videos, and even the picture he had secretly taken earlier, were all perfectly intact.
"You... you didn't look at the contents?" Lynn looked up at Jack, asking tentatively.
Jack shrugged, looking innocent. "Of course, I didn't look. I'm not the kind of person who likes to pry into other people's privacy. I just saw your phone fall on the ground, so I picked it up and returned it to you."
Lynn pondered internally. Jack's words seemed reasonable, but his intuition told him that things were far from that simple. He decided to confront him directly and see how Jack would react.
"Jack, I have a question for you." Lynn took a deep breath, his gaze fixed on Jack's eyes. "What exactly does that Dinosaur tattoo on your shoulder mean?"
Upon hearing this, a flicker of surprise, barely perceptible, crossed Jack's face, but he quickly regained his composure. He chuckled, seemingly a little surprised by Lynn's question.
"Oh, that? It doesn't have any special meaning. It's just the emblem of a football club I joined during college. The club is called Manhattan Dinosaur," Jack said dismissively, as if it were the most ordinary thing.
"Manhattan Dinosaur?" Lynn frowned. The name sounded a bit unfamiliar, but he didn't show it. "Can you tell me more about this club?"
Jack shrugged, seemingly unwilling to say more. "There's really nothing much to say. It's just a group of young people who love football, gathered together and gave themselves a cool name. That Dinosaur emblem, we designed it ourselves; we thought it was pretty cool."
Lynn nodded, pretending to have an epiphany on the surface, but he became even more suspicious in his heart. He knew that things were often not as simple as they appeared. Was this Manhattan Dinosaur club really just an ordinary football club? Or was it inextricably linked to that mysterious organization?
"Jack, how long have you been a member of that club?" Lynn continued to probe.
Jack thought for a moment and replied, "About four or five years, I can't remember the exact time. Why, are you interested in it?"
Lynn shook his head and smiled, "Nothing, just curious. You know, I'm also quite interested in football."
The two chatted for a few more minutes before returning to their respective offices. Lynn sat at his desk, his mind racing. He opened a search engine, trying to find information about the "Manhattan Dinosaur" club, but the results were a great disappointment. There was very little information about the club online, not even a decent photo.
"It seems I'll have to go there myself," Lynn decided. He resolved to personally investigate this mysterious football club to see if it was connected to that mysterious organization.

There was very little information about the club online, not even a decent photo.
"It seems I'll have to go there myself," Lynn decided. He resolved to personally investigate this mysterious football club to see if it was connected to that mysterious organization.
After work, Lynn didn't go straight home but drove to the address of the football club Jack had mentioned. However, when he arrived, he found only a desolate, overgrown empty lot, without a single person in sight.
"What's going on?" Lynn was filled with doubt. He looked around, trying to find some clues, but it seemed no one had been here for a long time.
Just as he was about to leave, a strange voice suddenly sounded behind him: "Are you looking for the Manhattan Dinosaur Club?"
Lynn spun around, only to see a burly middle-aged man with a weathered face standing in front of him. On his shoulder, a dinosaur head logo was clearly tattooed!
"You… who are you?" Lynn looked at the man in front of him warily, his heart full of caution.
The man smiled slightly, seemingly not bothered by Lynn's wariness: "Don't be nervous, I'm a member of the Manhattan Dinosaur Club and the person in charge here. You can just call me Old Dinosaur."
"Old Dinosaur?" Lynn frowned, the name sounded a bit strange, "Why are you here? Isn't the club already…"
Old Dinosaur shook his head, interrupting Lynn: "The club hasn't disbanded, it's just that we've encountered some trouble recently, so we temporarily moved our activity location."
"Trouble?" Lynn keenly caught the word, "What trouble?"
Old Dinosaur sighed, his expression becoming serious: "Actually, our club has always been targeted by a mysterious organization. They want to annex us, using our resources and influence to expand their sphere of power."
Lynn's heart jolted; he knew he had finally found a clue! He eagerly asked: "Then do you know what kind of background this mysterious organization has?"
Old Dinosaur shook his head: "I'm not too clear about their specific situation, but I know their power is very vast, and their methods are extremely ruthless. Several members of our club have already been ambushed by them."
Lynn took a deep breath, his heart filled with shock. He hadn't expected to inadvertently get involved in such a complex dispute. But he also understood that since he had already embarked on this path, there was no turning back.
"Old Dinosaur," Lynn looked firmly into Old Dinosaur's eyes, "I am willing to help you fight against this mysterious organization. However, I need more information and clues."
Hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Old Dinosaur's eyes. He tightly grasped Lynn's hand and said gratefully: "Thank you, Lynn. With your help, we will definitely be able to defeat that mysterious organization!"
The night was as dark as ink, the city's clamor gradually subsided, leaving only faint streetlights swaying in the cold wind. Lynn and Hans drove through narrow alleys, heading for the "Manhattan Dinosaur" football club hidden deep within a dilapidated industrial area. Both were filled with doubt and anticipation; their goal for this trip was to uncover the untold secrets behind this football club.
"Are you sure this is where we're supposed to go?" Hansasked suspiciously, looking at Lynn while steering the wheel.
Lynn nodded, his gaze firm: "The address Old Dinosaur gave me is here. He said this is their new training Base. And, I checked, this club's performance has been skyrocketing since ten years ago, almost as if it's been touched by magic."
"magic?" Hans scoffed, "Do you believe in that kind of thing?"
"No." Lynn shook his head, "But I believe there must be some unknown reason behind this. Perhaps, it's related to that mysterious organization."
The car stopped in front of a deserted warehouse. The two got out and looked around. It looked extremely desolate, a stark contrast to the image of a football club. However, when they pushed open the warehouse door, they were surprised to find a completely different world inside.
The spacious area had been converted into a modern training ground, brightly lit, with all kinds of training facilities. On the field, several players were training vigorously, their movements agile and powerful, as if every action contained infinite strength.
"Welcome to Manhattan Dinosaur." A familiar voice sounded in their ears; Old Dinosaur had appeared behind them at some point.
"This place…" Lynn looked around, his eyes shining with surprise, "It's truly incredible."
Old Dinosaur gave a wry smile: "We also had to choose such a hidden place to avoid being tracked by that mysterious organization. But, it's good this way, at least we can focus on training."
Lynn and Hans exchanged glances, becoming even more certain of the connection between this club and the mysterious organization. They decided to investigate further to see if they could find more clues.
As night fell, Manhattan's streets were brightly lit and bustling with people. In a bar called "Dinosaur's Nest," Lynn and Hans, dressed as fans, blended in with a group of fervent football enthusiasts. They had only one goal—to get close to Saka, the main striker of the Manhattan Dinosaur football club.
"I heard Saka is coming here tonight to celebrate the victory, we need to seize the opportunity." Lynnwhispered to Hans, while his eyes vigilantly scanned the surroundings.
Hans nodded, holding a glass of beer tightly, yet barely tasting it. He was both nervous and excited; they had been preparing for this moment for too long.
The atmosphere in the bar gradually heated up, and with cheers, Saka finally appeared. He was wearing a cool jersey with the Manhattan Dinosaur emblem, and the slightly bulging muscle on his shoulder was particularly striking under the lights.
"Saka! Saka!" The fans cheered, crowding around him as he walked towards the bar.
Lynn and Hans exchanged glances, tacitly following him. They found an opportunity to squeeze next to Saka and started chatting enthusiastically.
"Saka, your performance today was amazing! That goal was simply a stroke of genius!" Lynn exclaimed, feigning excitement.
Saka smiled, a hint of pride in his eyes: "Thanks for the compliment, brothers. I was in good form today, and I had good luck too."
Hans seized the opportunity to interject: "Saka, we're your die-hard fans. Can you tell us how you developed such astonishing speed and strength? We want to learn too."
Saka's smile stiffened slightly at his words. He glanced at the two, seemingly assessing their intentions. After a moment, he chuckled lightly: "Brothers, this isn't something you can train for overnight. And, some things… are natural."
Lynn and Hans's hearts tightened; they knew Saka's words carried a deeper meaning. But to avoid alerting him, they continued to feign admiration.
"Saka, you are our idol! Can you give us a chance to train with you? Even for just one day!" Lynn pleaded.
Saka thought for a moment, then finally nodded: "Alright, since you're so enthusiastic, I'll make an exception this time. Come to the club tomorrow afternoon to find me."
Lynn and Hans exchanged smiles; they knew the first step of their plan had succeeded.
The next afternoon, the two arrived at the Manhattan Dinosaur football club's training ground on time. Saka was already waiting for them, accompanied by a few teammates.
"Welcome to the Dinosaur's Home." Saka greeted them with a smile, "Today, I'll let you witness real training."
Over the next few hours, Lynn and Hans underwent high-intensity training with Saka and his teammates. Although they were also skilled, they appeared dwarfed in comparison to Saka. Saka's speed, strength, and reaction time were superhuman, as if his body had been enhanced by some mysterious power.
After the training, Saka invited the two to his private lounge to chat. Lynn and Hans knew this was their crucial moment to uncover the truth.
"Saka, we have a question for you." Lynn took a deep breath, deciding to lay his cards on the table, "Are you… a Mutant?"
Saka's expression changed dramatically at the question. He widened his eyes, staring intently at Lynn and Hans, as if trying to see through their thoughts.
"Why would you think that?" Saka's voice was low and wary.
Hans added: "We noticed your performance in the game, as well as your speed and strength during training. These are not things ordinary people can do. Moreover, we heard that the Manhattan Dinosaur Club hides some unknown secrets."
