Chapter 270: Chuck and Dr. House - "Greg Wilson, I Don't Want to Kill!"

"No!"

Young Sheldon denied it. "Are you going to help me get treatment or not?"

"Don't get agitated."

Dr. House raised his hands to indicate that he meant no harm. "You're so irritable at such a young age, no wonder you have a stomach ulcer. I'll have someone check your labs right away."

"..."

Young Sheldon looked at Chuck with frustration.

He completely understood why the Great Demon King Chuck had brought him here for treatment.

"You're welcome."

Chuck met Young Sheldon's gaze, looked at the double karma points added in the system, and solemnly accepted the 'eye thanks'.

This was a win-win-win situation. He was ecstatic!

"Little genius, I can see you have a lot of ideas. You speculated that you have a stomach ulcer—have you thought about the cause?"

Dr. House couldn't help but tease him. "Of course, besides the stress from knowing this guy."

"It should be that bottle of weird-tasting soda I drank."

Young Sheldon didn't dare to say it was related to the Great Demon King, so he had already thought of another answer to this question.

"A weird-tasting soda?"

Dr. House looked at Sheldon with interest.

"Yes!"

Sheldon said dejectedly. "Because of the family's financial crisis, it's affected me too, so I can only choose cheaper local soda."

"You chose local soda because its selling point is that it's additive-free, healthier, and the taste suits you."

Chuck exposed Sheldon's lie.

"That's only one reason."

Sheldon immediately knew that Leonard had leaked the information, but he refused to admit defeat and retorted. "The family's financial crisis has indeed had some impact—although only 1%—but it did affect my decision."

"You think there's something wrong with the soda?"

Dr. House laughed.

"It's not that I think there's something wrong with the soda."

Young Sheldon said, chin raised. "It's that I'm sure there is something wrong with the soda. Trust my sense of taste!"

Dr. Cameron, the attractive doctor on Dr. House's team, came over to draw blood from Young Sheldon for testing. Hearing this, she couldn't help but interject. "Your sense of taste can sometimes lie, and you're still young. Your taste buds are still developing..."

"Maybe that's true for most people, but I am Sheldon Cooper! No one can fool me, including my own sense of taste!"

Young Sheldon said proudly. "If you don't believe me, go ask Medford Bakery." He paused, remembering how the bakery changed its recipe and he detected it immediately, almost causing his whole family to be evicted from their rental. Although he'd learned his lesson about not being overly vocal, he'd also become more confident in his sense of taste. "I am the master of my body..."

As he said this, he caught Chuck's gaze and remembered the times he had tried to be the master of his bladder, only to be defeated by Chuck's words and glances. He choked on his words, his pride turning into frustration.

"Even if there's something wrong with the soda, you seem very scientific... You drank so little, it shouldn't have caused a stomach ulcer."

Dr. Cameron chuckled.

"Of course I understand science. Saying it's not that serious without doing any tests isn't a scientific attitude. Are you sure you're a doctor?"

Sheldon looked at her questioningly.

"...I'll bring you my diploma later."

Dr. Cameron retorted, taking Sheldon's blood sample and leaving.

"I'll wait."

Sheldon took it seriously and called after her retreating figure.

"Your recovery is quite remarkable."

Dr. House focused his gaze on Professor Alicia Harper, giving her a penetrating look.

She had undergone brain surgery—drilling into her skull, almost to the point of irreversibility. Even though Chuck made the decision at the crucial moment to prescribe medication directly without further craniotomy, there should have been significant side effects. At the very least, it should have taken a long time to fully recover.

But looking at Professor Alicia Harper's condition now, it had only been a short time, and she showed no signs of any aftereffects, which surprised him greatly.

"Thank you again, Dr. House."

Professor Alicia Harper said warmly.

"No need for thanks."

Dr. House said, glancing at Chuck with a playful smile. "You should thank someone else, and that person would love to hear your thanks."

Professor Alicia Harper smiled, pulling Young Sheldon—who was clutching his stomach—aside, not getting involved in the banter between Dr. House and Chuck.

"Am I right?"

Dr. House pressed. "It must be nice to hear other people's wives thank you, right?"

"You'd have to ask your ex-wife's current husband."

Chuck said calmly. "Because although you have a lot to say now, it's clear you don't empathize."

"..."

Dr. House's lips twitched, then he smiled. "Looks like you're paying attention to me too."

Back then, because of his leg injury, his ex-wife didn't follow his medical advice in making the final decision. Feeling betrayed by the person he loved most, he chose to distance himself from his ex-wife, and she became his ex-wife. During that time, she met her current husband.

Chuck was clearly implying that during that time, when they were on the verge of divorce, his ex-wife's current husband had become involved with her.

The second part of his statement was that his ex-wife's current husband had recently contracted a rare disease, and his ex-wife came to him to treat her current husband, leading to a rekindling of their old flame and her husband being cheated on.

Chuck implied that he should have been the one to understand the joy of being the other man, but because he still loved his ex-wife, that joy was diminished to a minimum. He couldn't let go, and his feelings were more about what he'd lost than what he'd gained.

"Perhaps we should have a four-person date, exchange our experiences. That would be really interesting."

"Does Dr. Wilson have time?"

Chuck asked seriously.

"Ha, ha, that's hilarious."

Dr. House smiled dismissively, seeing Chuck again implying his relationship with his best friend, Dr. Wilson.

"Speaking of Wilson, he's crushing on a married woman—a former nun, you know. Let's invite him, and have a six-person date. That would be even more interesting."

He gestured for Chuck to look into the distance.

Just then, Dr. House's best friend, the warm-hearted Dr. Wilson, wearing a white coat, walked over, talking to a beautiful woman.

"Absolutely stunning, isn't she?"

Dr. House and Chuck looked over side-by-side. "Delicate yet damaged, needing care and guidance—exactly the type Wilson can't resist."

At that moment, Dr. Wilson, having already brought the woman over, noticed the two standing there looking at them and awkwardly introduced them.

"House, Chuck, let me introduce you. This is Mia. And this is Dr. House and Dr. Chuck Wolfe."

"Hello."

Mia smiled sweetly, then said goodbye to Dr. Wilson. "Dr. Wilson, I should go now."

"I'll walk you out."

Dr. Wilson wanted to spend a little more time with her.

"No need."

Mia shook her head, waved to everyone, and then turned and left.

"You went too far!"

Dr. House immediately scolded his best friend after watching Mia leave.

"What did I do?"

Dr. Wilson said helplessly.

"Remember that busty lady who came for a follow-up plastic surgery consultation?"

Dr. House feigned indignation. "Back then, I immediately calmed her down and asked you to come along. But now that something like this is happening, you didn't even invite me! Isn't that going too far?"

"I didn't ask you to invite me that time!"

Dr. Wilson glanced awkwardly at Chuck, refuting his best friend's teasing. "Mia isn't that busty lady..."

"Looking like her, even if she only had a tumor, I'd still be willing to take a look."

Dr. House retorted sarcastically.

"House!"

Dr. Wilson snapped. "Please show her some respect! Mia has a serious heart condition..."

"What? Getting emotional again?"

Dr. House interrupted, continuing his sarcasm. "Want another ex-wife's daughter as a best friend?"

At this point, despite his displeased expression, he gestured with his chin towards Chuck. "Hey, you stoic guy, tell me, are you interested in someone like her?"

"Yes."

Chuck replied bluntly. "But I won't make any moves."

"Oh, I know. You're a germaphobe."

Dr. House scoffed. "It's like I'm the only one who's done something terribly wrong. We're all the same—just men."

He pointed at Chuck. "You're about to win over Mrs. Harper."

Then he pointed at his best friend, Dr. Wilson. "And you—a renowned oncologist—what are you doing treating a heart patient? Do I need to tell you what you're up to?"

Dr. Wilson was speechless.

Because it was the truth.

Mia hadn't come to see him, the oncologist, at all. Rather, he knew Mia was coming and proactively offered all sorts of assistance.

This wasn't the first time.

He considered it helping a friend.

But the real reason... those who know, know.

"No, that's not what I meant."

Chuck shook his head. "The primary reason I won't take any action is because she has a serious heart condition, and I don't want to kill anyone."

"..."

Dr. House and Dr. Wilson were both stunned.

Dr. Wilson was speechless.

Dr. House immediately retorted sarcastically. "I know, so you're like Ron Jeremy in his prime!"

Chuck remained calm, not denying it.

"You're really confident—shameless, even."

Dr. House said with mock sincerity. "I really want to see you get your leg broken by a criminal while investigating a case someday, so I can see if being lame really doesn't affect you at all."

"Can we please stop talking about Mia?"

Dr. Wilson disliked discussing the pure, beautiful, and breathtakingly lovely Mia in this tone, and said with a wry smile. "Especially in this tone. It's a bit disrespectful."

"That's not your opinion—it's her husband's!"

Dr. House glanced at his best friend and said sarcastically.

"Her husband is missing."

Dr. Wilson sighed.

"Congratulations, you've got the job."

Dr. House said sarcastically.

"House!"

Dr. Wilson glared at his best friend, then looked at Chuck. "Oh, right, I forgot—could you help Mia find out where her husband is? It hasn't been 24 hours yet, so she can't report it to the police. She was so worried she almost had a heart attack, which is why she came for a checkup."

"Are you sure you want to help her find her husband?"

Dr. House's sarcastic remarks wouldn't stop.

Dr. Wilson ignored him, just looking at Chuck with expectant eyes.

"A request for help requires the person involved."

Chuck said noncommittally.

"Mia hasn't gone far. I'll call her back right away."

Dr. Wilson was overjoyed and immediately ran out of the hospital.

Dr. House watched this scene, a mocking smile appearing on his lips.

"Feels bad, doesn't it?"

Chuck stood next to him, watching Dr. Wilson's figure disappear into the distance, and said expressionlessly.

"There are some things you should say. If you don't, he'll never know how much it hurts you—or he'll always pretend not to know."

"..."

Dr. House's lips twitched as Chuck again implied his relationship with his best friend. He retorted, "We're not filming Brokeback Mountain."

"Is that so?"

Chuck said bluntly. "That's a shame. But I believe that one day I will call you Greg Wilson!"

Dr. House had only one expression in response. He put down his cane, extended two middle fingers, and preemptively indicated his internationally recognized friendly attitude for when Chuck addressed him that way in the future.

After a while, Dr. Wilson returned dejectedly and explained to the two. "Mia is gone."

"So soon? It seems she couldn't wait to leave."

Dr. House stroked his chin and said pretentiously. "Hmm, I'm curious why? It can't be to avoid you introducing her to a stoic detective to help investigate her husband, can it? Or is she just eager to escape a certain 'nice guy' who keeps pestering her?"

"I'll call her later."

Dr. Wilson said to Chuck. "She's driving right now. It's not safe for her to answer the phone."

"How sweet."

Dr. House mocked. "But I advise you not to introduce stoic Chuck to her. This missed opportunity is fate's warning to you. Otherwise, whether her husband is found or not, she'll have nothing to do with you anymore."

As he spoke, he winked and gestured for Dr. Wilson to look at Professor Alicia Harper, who was taking care of Young Sheldon.

Dr. Wilson hesitated for a moment, but seeing the teasing look in his good friend Dr. House's eyes, he forcibly suppressed his hesitation and laughed. "Don't be so cynical, okay? I trust Chuck."

He then looked at Chuck. "Chuck?"

"It's the client's personal request for help."

Chuck reminded him.

"Okay."

Dr. Wilson nodded, calculating the time, preparing to tell Mia the good news as soon as she got home safely.

"The lab results are in."

Dr. Cameron walked over with a report.

"How is it?"

Young Sheldon saw it too and immediately came over.

"You're fine."

Dr. Cameron smiled.

"Where's your diploma?"

Young Sheldon looked at her with suspicion.

"..."

Dr. Cameron was speechless.

She thought it was just a joke, never expecting him to actually want her to bring her diploma.

"You're wrong."

Dr. House took the report, glanced at it, and his eyes lit up.

"It's still too early to say!"

Sheldon retorted, unconvinced.

"I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about her!"

Dr. House's eyes were strange and amused as he spoke, then he limped away, leaning on his cane.

"I knew I was right!"

Sheldon proudly raised his head, then called after Dr. House. "Where are you going? You haven't told them why I was right!"

"To the morgue."

Dr. House stopped, turned back, and gave Sheldon a highly mocking look.

"..."

Sheldon realized with horror that he seemed to no longer be the owner of his bladder.
