Chapter 162 - Chapter 156: The Incomplete God

Star-Lord had heard from his crew that Yondu had originally intended to send him to his father, but the cunning space pirate leader broke his promise and kept him, training him to be a thief.

Because of his small stature, he could pass through narrow places like pipes to reach areas My Lord couldn't, and steal things.

"You're not qualified to know, Quill.

The whereabouts of Ego are top secret, and I'm considering whether to trade him for your life."

After a moment of tension, Yondu thought of an excuse and feigned calmness with a sneer, explaining his instinctive glance at Star-Lord just now.

Then, ignoring his shouts, he had his subordinates take him to the back.

"Think about it, no one else is qualified to deal with a Raiders crew member."

Controlling the projector on his wrist, he displayed a galaxy coordinate.

"Ego is right here."

Yondu didn't know what Ron wanted with Ego, but since Ego's life or death had nothing to do with him, he readily gave up the coordinates.

As for Ego being Star-Lord's biological father, he felt it was better to have no father than such a one.

"You may leave."

The Collector, who was nearby, recorded the coordinates and got what he wanted, so Ron waved his hand.

"Cosmic Orb."

Yondu didn't move, frowning.

He hadn't forgotten The Collector's bounty; that was a huge fortune.

If Star-Lord hadn't gotten the Cosmic Orb, he wouldn't be here.

"You overestimate the thief under your command.

He didn't bring the Orb here to me at all."

The Collector shook his head.

Yondu looked at Star-Lord, who awkwardly said, "I was captured and brought here, almost sold."

To be precise, he had already been sold, sold to Yondu.

"What? No Cosmic Orb!"

The two subordinates Yondu brought were furious; wouldn't that mean they came for nothing?

"Useless!

You messed everything up.

Boss, I suggest we stew him when we get back!"

"Enough, let's get out of here first."

Facing his subordinates' aggression towards Star-Lord, Yondu's face filled with anger, and he reprimanded them.

Then he turned and left with his people.

Having obtained the coordinates, Ron did not leave immediately, asking The Collector to upgrade his spaceship first.

Ego was there and wouldn't run away.

Sharpening the axe does not delay the chopping of wood.

The distance was quite far, almost spanning half of the Universe, and the Inhumans' space navigation technology was somewhat backward.

The Collector not only liked to collect artworks but also various advanced technologies, so he was in charge of modifying the spaceship.

"I'm taking Karina with me. You can just find a robot maid; she'll perfectly meet your requirements."

After half a day, when the modifications were complete, Ron and Daisy left after giving The Collector a few instructions.

The Collector's collection was here and wouldn't go anywhere; he could study and admire it anytime.

He also took Karina with him before leaving.

"If Thanos comes looking for you asking about me, you can tell him honestly."

Thanos and The Collector cooperated to issue a bounty in his name. Ron didn't hide or avoid detection when he came to the Land of Nihility; many people saw him, so Thanos would surely come to The Collector again to inquire about him.

And The Collector had already become his subordinate.

He valued The Collector's collection and his intelligence channels; he couldn't let Thanos kill The Collector and destroy this place.

"Yes, Master."

"When I brought you onto the ship as a child, they all wanted to eat you; they hadn't tasted a Terran yet."

"I saved you, Quill, but this time I can't protect you either.

You've messed up an unprecedented big business deal for us Raiders!"

On the way out of the Land of Nihility, Yondu showed a mouthful of metal-studded rotten teeth and sneered menacingly.

"The boss must lead by example and not show favoritism."

"Exactly! The Captain can't show favoritism either!" His two vicious pirates cheered and repeated.

"I could execute you with a whistle, but I'll keep your fat for now. When we get back to the ship, you can make your final contribution to us Raiders."

He reminded his adopted son, hoping he would understand and try to escape before returning to the ship.

Once they were back on the ship, he wouldn't be able to protect him easily.

"Fat? What are you talking about?

Are you referring to my lean, sculpted muscles?"

Star-Lord, who was tied up and carried, was indignant upon hearing this.

"And? Who would constantly think about eating people? Everyone on that ship is a bunch of perverts and freaks."

"Don't think I don't know, you kept me because—hey, what's that!"

He spoke halfway through his angry, resentful words, then suddenly changed his tone, widening his eyes and looking in surprise towards the horizon.

As if there was something bizarre and astonishing there.

"What?"

Yondu and the two others turned to look.

Bang!

The ropes were cut by a dagger, and a current generator was pulled from behind his waist and thrown to the ground, emitting a burst of electricity. The three were electrocuted and fell to the ground.

Zzzzzzz!

"Now another crime will be added to your list: betrayal of your Captain!" Yondu, who had been caught off guard and knocked down, twitching all over from the electricity, said to the freed Star-Lord.

"Kill him, Captain!" The two space pirates cried out with ferocious expressions, "We can bring his body back too!"

Yondu had a Yaka Arrow at his waist, made of sound-sensitive metal, incredibly strong in penetration. He could control it through telepathy and sound.

He could control the Yaka Arrow to kill enemies without using his hands or feet; a mere whistle could wipe out a small squad.

"Whoosh, whoosh."

Yondu began to whistle, but it was intermittent due to the electricity, and the arrow at his waist flew up and fell down, seemingly unable to attack at all.

"Looks like you won't be eating me."

Seeing this, Star-Lord, who had been tense, smiled triumphantly, shrugged, and then stepped forward to take the projection communicator from Yondu's hand.

"What are you doing, Quill?" Yondu's face instantly changed.

"You can't fool me, Yondu.

How many years have I known you, twenty or thirty?"

Picking up the communicator containing Ego's coordinates, Star-Lord's eyes were complex as he weighed it twice and said.

"Ego is my father, isn't he?"

"Put it down!"

Yondu didn't want Star-Lord to go find his insane, emotionless biological father, and he shouted urgently.

He whistled, trying to control the Yaka Arrow to destroy the communicator.

This time, the Yaka Arrow flew up without any hindrance.

"Sorry, Yondu.

I'm free."

But Star-Lord was faster, raising his gun and aiming it at Yondu's head.

"I'm going to find my father, not follow you and be a thief."

Under the power-adjusted bullet, the anxious Yondu's forehead was hit red and he passed out from the heavy blow.

The other two pirates were also knocked out by him and thrown together near the spaceship docking area of the Land of Nihility.

"Father, I'm coming."

Piloting the spaceship they had arrived in, and using the coordinates retrieved from the communication log on the communicator, Star-Lord's eyes seemed to burn with Fire, unable to suppress the excitement in his heart. He left the Land of Nihility, rapidly warped, and embarked on his journey to find his father.

In the vast space.

A beautiful silver spaceship, traveling through various wormholes built by major interstellar empires in the Universe, appeared before a Planet whose overall color was crimson.

"What a beautiful Planet."

Jane and Daisy looked down, exclaiming in surprise.

The Planet was filled with trees and flowers of various colors, almost covering the entire land, like a space botanical garden and flower garden.

Compared to the gray and dilapidated Morag, and the dirty and chaotic Land of Nihility, this Planet was simply breathtakingly beautiful.

Karina, who had just been able to leave The Collector, was also somewhat surprised by the beauty of this Planet.

The Collector's collection was not lacking in beautiful artistic items, but in terms of beauty, this Planet was not inferior to anything in The Collector's collection.

"Beneath the beautiful surface, deadly murderous intent is hidden."

Overlooking the Planet, which was almost the size of the Moon from space, Ron's eyes were fixed, and he murmured in a low voice.

Seeing the appearance of this Planet, he knew he had found Ego.

"Ron, is this the living Planet you're looking for?"

Jane asked in surprise.

On the way, Ron had told them about his purpose this time: to find a Planet that itself possessed life.

"He's so huge, what does he eat to satisfy his appetite?

Other Planets? Does that count as eating his own kind?" Daisy tilted her head, asking playfully.

"He is a God; he doesn't need to eat."

Ron replied.

"A God?

He's also a God? Are all Celestials different in appearance?"

The two looked at each other in confusion.

This Planet, apart from its size and original form, bore no resemblance to the Celestial head in the Land of Nihility.

"A God."

Karina was startled, and her hand involuntarily touched the porthole.

A living God?

She hadn't expected life to be so exciting on her first day away from The Collector, to actually see a living God?

"He's an exception.

He's like a deformed child who was delivered by caesarean section just as he started to develop as a fetus."

Ego's situation was more complex; he paused before thinking of a similar description.

"Uh..."

The three had strange, indescribable expressions, wondering what such a fetus would grow up to be like.

The distance here was a bit far, so Ron ordered the crew to pilot the ship downwards.

The Celestials in the MCU are slightly different from their comic book counterparts; their birth involves a special process.

The life seeds of the Celestials are planted deep within a life-bearing Planet, growing by absorbing the intelligent life energy from the Planet.

Finally, when enough intelligent life energy is absorbed, the Celestial will emerge from the Planet's core, like breaking through an eggshell. This phenomenon is called a Divine Manifestation.

Each Divine Manifestation is accompanied by the destruction of a Planet.

The power of the Celestials is thus evident; they possess Planet-destroying Power from birth.

In the comics, Ego is not a Celestial, but a unique life form called a Living Planet.

However, in the MCU, Ego's origin became that of a Celestial. Unlike other Celestials, he was born with only a brain.

The rest of him was formed over millions of years after he gained consciousness, by using his divine Power to control surrounding molecules and shape layers of crust, eventually forming a Planet.

Ron suspected that when the Celestial seed was developing in the core, the life Planet chosen to gestate him was somehow destroyed.

Eventually, only he, with a newly developed brain, remained.

And then Ego grew in such a deformed way.

Seeing that the spaceship was close enough, he closed his eyes and let his psychic abilities spread out to make contact.

Template recorded: Incomplete Celestial Ego: 8 million.

A few seconds later, he opened his eyes and glanced at the ability panel.

Ron was somewhat disappointed.

Is it still in an incomplete state, after all?

Although the 8 million ability points demonstrated Ego's Power.

"I remember when Ego first appeared, he instantly destroyed a huge interstellar fleet chasing Star-Lord and his group with a single blow.

And that was just a divine Power manifestation of a clone.

He almost devoured tens of thousands of Planets.

From this, it can be seen that he is not weak."

As for his brain being destroyed by a bomb with massive energy, it can only be said that he hadn't developed a body to protect his brain.

But this did not satisfy him much.

If it's not a complete Celestial template, how much Power can it provide?

"But looking on the bright side, incompleteness also has its advantages, right?"

He comforted himself inwardly.

Ego's Power was somewhat unexpected. If it were a complete Celestial, it might take a while to gather the required ability points.

Anyway, the Power of the template is cumulative; even if an incomplete template is purchased first, and then a complete template, the ability points will not be wasted.

After thinking about it, he accepted it.

Suddenly, a giant face rose from the Planet's surface, which had been still. It opened its eyes and gazed with majesty.

"Who are you?"

Ego sensed Ron's presence.

Looking at the giant face spanning thousands of miles on the surface, everyone on the spaceship was startled and shocked.

Although the Celestial head in the Land of Nihility was also huge, it was inanimate. Unlike the current scene, they felt like ants being gazed upon by a towering giant.

"No matter who you are.

Wherever this spaceship comes from, stay."

Ego made a move, and giant tentacles of divine Power, emitting White light, emerged from the Planet's surface, extending thousands of miles and reaching out to grab the approaching spaceship in space!

In the beautiful palace on the surface, Ego's clone closed his eyes; his consciousness returned to his main body to control his divine Power.

"Fa-father..."

And in front of him, Quill's body was pierced by divine Power tentacles, his eyes glazed over, his consciousness blurred, as the divine Power within him was being absorbed.

He was still muttering like a fool.

Because The Collector took some time to upgrade the spaceship, Star-Lord arrived earlier than Ron.

Unfortunately, things were a bit different from his imagined father-son reunion and tearful embrace!

After Ego's divine Power clone appeared, he heard from Star-Lord that he was the child Yondu had kept.

Seeing that there was a descendant who had actively delivered himself, he immediately attacked Star-Lord without mercy to check if Star-Lord had inherited his divine Power.

The plot was different from the original. Originally, the reason Ego was so gentle with Star-Lord was that he intended to deceive him at first.

It was mainly because he had heard rumors of Star-Lord being immortal after holding the Power Stone, and he had confirmed that Star-Lord had successfully inherited his Celestial Power.

Plus, Star-Lord's mother was the woman he loved most.

That's why he didn't reveal his true colors at first.

Ego's plan to devour the Universe had been prepared and implemented long ago. For this, he had planted Celestial Flowers, condensed from divine Power, on tens of thousands of Planets.

And had descendants with tens of thousands of women.

He had been waiting for a descendant who could inherit his Celestial Power and help him complete this grand plan.

Over the long years, however, expectation after expectation brought only disappointment, and Ego became irritable and disappointed.

The bones of descendants who didn't satisfy him had already piled up into a small mountain.

When another descendant came before him, he was not in the mood to ask further, and with a restless, mechanical mood, he tried it casually.

But he didn't expect a huge surprise to fall upon him.

"Ten thousand years have passed, and I've finally met a descendant who inherited my Celestial Power. My long-planned great scheme can be implemented."

"During the process of devouring those Planets, there can be no disturbance whatsoever; it must be foolproof."

When Ego discovered someone in space and emitting psychic abilities to probe him, he immediately chose to act!

He used to kill anyone and any spaceship that discovered his location, let alone at this critical moment!

"Being so irritable isn't good."

Facing the divine Power tentacles controlled by Ego, Ron's face was expressionless. He teleported into space and controlled a giant hand formed by vast Fear Power, striking out fiercely!
