Chapter 68 - Chapter 67: So What If We Make Him King

The people of Wakanda only saw a figure in the giant projection throwing down a Vibranium bomb that had been dismantled and crushed.

After a few attacks, their brutal and insane new King was defeated and subdued like a weak infant.

"We're saved, we're actually saved.

He saved us, saved Wakanda."

The people of Wakanda, having survived the ordeal, wept tears of joy.

"How did he do it with so many bombs?"

"He is the benefactor of all of us, who is he?"

Only the representatives of the four major tribes who witnessed the sacred challenge had seen Ron; the others did not know him. After asking for his name, everyone shouted, and a low, reverent sound echoed.

"Ron, Ron!"

When he appeared and saved Wakanda, all of Wakanda cheered his name.

… …

A night passed.

The King's power in Wakanda is almost supreme, but when a King tries to destroy his country and kill his people, he is destined to be abandoned by the populace.

The subdued new King was sentenced for an unprecedented crime of treason and thrown into prison, awaiting trial and execution.

No one doubted if there was anything suspicious about it; the new King's brutality and bloodlust had been witnessed firsthand by hundreds of representatives from the four major tribes.

The highest-ranking people in Wakanda, the former King, the former Queen, the priest, and the Prince, were almost all killed by him within a day.

Only Princess Shuri, who was eight or nine years old and knew nothing, survived the disaster.

Before one wave settled, another rose, and a piece of bad news spread among the people of Wakanda.

"The Heart-Shaped Herb was ordered to be burned by that demonic King, which means there will be no more Black Panther in the future, and no one will be able to protect us!"

The people were sad and confused, unable to accept it. Since ancient times, they had been accustomed to the leadership and protection of Black Panther.

At the same time, discussions were constantly ongoing in Wakanda about the immense power Ron displayed last night, instantly memorizing the distribution of those bombs with astonishing memory, and running throughout the city to dismantle the bombs in just a few seconds.

The new King, who had taken the Heart-Shaped Herb and wore the Vibranium armor, was like a rabbit to a lion in front of him, unable to resist the lion's courage, easily subdued, his helmet pulled off, and knocked unconscious with one blow.

Someone started discussing whether Ron, who saved their entire country, could become the new King.

"Even though he is not a Wakandan, why not?

Without him, Wakanda would no longer exist."

"But I heard he was with the new King."

"He was deceived by the treasonous new King, believing that the old King T'Chaka had basely killed his brother, and Klaw had deceived Prince N'Jobu, which is why he helped him get revenge and return to his homeland."

"This was said by that treasonous King himself, mocking our benefactor in prison, saying he was kept in the dark from beginning to end."

"He is too kind; it's not his fault.

How dare he mock our benefactor!"

A small portion of people felt that the grace of saving the country outweighed everything.

However, most Wakandans still held onto tradition and could not accept an outsider as the King of their country.

… …

"I propose Ron as our new King!"

Central Tower, the meeting hall where the King and tribal chiefs discuss matters.

The tall central throne was vacant, and the four tribal chiefs were fiercely discussing who should be the new King, whether the throne should remain vacant until Princess Shuri grew up, or if the entire tribe should choose a warrior.

Among them, the young Frontier Tribe Chief W'Kabi, seriously and strongly proposed it loudly.

Inside the hall, the four thought that this meeting concerning the future destiny of Wakanda involved only the four of them, and even the King's Guard were excluded.

But they did not know that Ron was actually sitting on the high throne, resting his head and watching them discuss, saliva flying everywhere, yet they could not see him.

"Charles's psychic abilities include psychic illusions, mind control, mental links, forced amnesia, psychic shields, and many other abilities."

One of these abilities is mental shielding, which uses mental manipulation like suggestion to make others unaware of one's own or nearby people's presence.

"Unfortunately, mind control requires constant concentration to maintain, otherwise I wouldn't have to listen to these four people discussing this issue here."

Ron still felt a bit regretful.

He couldn't control others for a long time; if he forcefully manipulated the four people's thoughts to vote him King today, the four would notice something was wrong the next day.

"I can only subtly instill weak thoughts and guide them within."

Among them, W'Kabi was grateful to him for helping him avenge his father, and he was a 'hawk' in Wakanda, dissatisfied with the current state of Wakanda.

He was most in favor of a powerful person like Ron becoming King and was the easiest to guide his thoughts.

"No, he is not a Wakandan!"

The remaining three tribal chiefs were all elders, staunchly adhering to traditional concepts, and strongly opposed.

"Your thinking is too conservative.

If it weren't for him saving Wakanda last night, could we still be sitting here safely?"

"And your grandchildren would have been blown to bits by the bombs long ago."

W'Kabi pointed at the three elderly tribal chiefs and said in a deep voice.

"Without him, Wakanda would have disappeared from the Earth, yet you still cling to tradition."

"It's true that he saved our Wakanda.

But there's no need to make him King to repay him; giving him some Vibranium will suffice."

After a moment of silence, the old woman from the Merchant Tribe, whose skin was as wrinkled as chicken skin, said.

"Every gram of Vibranium is priceless outside; we can give him an unimaginable fortune and our friendship with Wakanda."

"No matter what, ancestral traditions cannot be abandoned." The chief of the Mountain Mining Tribe, a slightly younger old woman, said with a firm tone.

"Alright, if you respect ancestral traditions, let's talk about tradition."

Under Ron's guidance, W'Kabi went straight to the heart of the matter, using their own logic against them: "I remember an ancient tradition that states outsiders are not without a chance to become the ruler of Wakanda."

"You mean that tradition."

Thinking of something, the elder from the River Tribe, with a lip plate embedded in his chin, suddenly looked up.

The three people in the conference room fell silent, their faces grim.

The ancient ancestors had their own wisdom for survival, such as choosing to submit and preserve their lineage when facing the possibility of destruction.

The tradition W'Kabi mentioned was exactly that.

If an outsider came, challenged the current King and won, and then made all the tribes of Wakanda willingly submit, they could ascend to the throne.

The so-called 'willing submission' was very clever.

It was actually a tradition created for a graceful surrender when things looked bad and the outsider was too powerful, so Wakanda wouldn't be destroyed.

"Times have changed!

When our ancient ancestors established this tradition, our technology was not yet so advanced, and the World was still an era of swords and spears."

That was a shameful tradition, said the chief of the Mountain Mining Tribe in an indignant voice.

In the cold weapon era, although equipment was very important, population was even more important. Wakanda, a small African country, had always had a sparse population, and at that time, they did not mine much of the Vibranium they possessed.

"In terms of technology, no country on Earth surpasses us today; there is no force or anyone who can conquer us now!"

The chief of the Merchant Tribe said unequivocally.

They no longer needed to compromise to preserve their tribe.

"What if he can?"

W'Kabi asked calmly.

"Then what if we honor him as King!" the stubborn three tribal elders said, not believing Ron could stand against their technology.
