"So you still recognize it's your house."
Dirk Carter said through gritted teeth.
Then he turned towards Hadley Thorne and Colter Hall's direction and said, "Secretary Thorne, Mayor Hall, about four or five days ago, I reported to both of you that a friend of mine went missing. Just now, my friend was found, and it was at Astrid Giles' home."
This statement caused instant clamor in the meeting room.
The other Standing Committee members started discussing amongst themselves.
Hadley Thorne and Colter Hall exchanged glances, both finding the situation quite absurd.
"Comrade Astrid, is what Dirk Carter says true?"
Hadley Thorne asked.
Meanwhile, Astrid Giles appeared calm.
With a chuckle, she said, "Comrade Carter, let me ask you a question first. Did your people have permission when they went to someone else's home?"
"Of course not, if I needed permission, my friend wouldn't have been found."
