Maeve Winters was taken aback and asked, "What's wrong?"
Dirk Carter continued to ask, "Did Templeton Quill tell you he released those two clues as a way to stay alive?"
Maeve Winters nodded and said, "I went to the detention center and asked him face-to-face. He said it himself. With so many charges against him, he was sure to face the death penalty, so he released those two clues hoping to get a reprieve."
Dirk Carter rubbed his chin in thought for a while, then said, "Based on the two clues he's given, solving these two cases would indeed be huge. But haven't you thought about why he suddenly decided to talk?"
"Isn't it because he's afraid of dying?"
