Chapter 109 - Chapter 108 – Su Meier

"Feng Wuya?"

Why was he here?

Qin Yi's heart immediately tensed with suspicion.

He couldn't fathom the man's motive—but in his eyes, Feng Wuya was nothing but a madman, selfish and dangerous.

If he could help it, Qin Yi would never have anything to do with him not until the day he became strong enough to settle their old score.

For Feng Wuya to seek him out alone could only mean trouble.

Still, Qin Yi didn't hesitate. With a flick of his spiritual power, he unsealed the door.

Outside stood Feng Wuya his form faintly translucent, a soul body.

Qin Yi noticed at once that the man was not anchored to his Soul Banner. He was standing here, directly in the mortal realm, completely exposed.

This lunatic… what was he planning?

Qin Yi grew even warier, though he didn't regret opening the door.

After all, this was the heart of Blood Feast Valley, surrounded by disciples.Even Feng Wuya wouldn't dare act recklessly here.

And besides—if the madman really did attack him in public, then even if Qin Yi died, the sect would never let Feng Wuya go unpunished.

His death in exchange for Feng Wuya's life?A fair trade, considering Qin Yi was only a clone.

"You have one life," he thought coldly, "but I'm just one of many bodies.Your life for one of mine—no loss at all."

Taking a deep breath, Qin Yi watched as Feng Wuya stepped inside. Before the man could speak, Qin Yi raised his voice first.

"Let me say this up front—the quota for the secret realm is decided by Senior Brother Zhou.I have no say in it.If you want to change the candidates, go talk to him, not me."

Feng Wuya's brows furrowed slightly.

Mad as he was, he wasn't stupid he easily heard the warning beneath those words.Qin Yi was invoking Zhou's name to shield himself.

But Feng Wuya was not one to be cowed.Without a word, he reached back and closed the door.

Click.

The latch fell into place.

Feng Wuya's eyes darkened, a quiet menace flickering in them.He stared fixedly at Qin Yi, as if one wrong word might trigger violence.

Yet Qin Yi remained calm—he even smiled, almost tauntingly.

"What's this? Planning to attack?"

"I admit, I'm no match for you right now.If you strike, I'll surely die."

"But will you dare?"

"Will you really dare kill me Zhou Shixiong's personally appointed disciple?"

"Think about it. My death would bring yours. Not a bad trade, eh?"

"And as the sect's envoy, Senior Brother Zhou would definitely avenge me.I only hope he makes it slow for you…"

His words seemed to be dissuading Feng Wuya, but Qin Yi knew exactly what he was doing.

The more rationally one spoke to a madman, the more it stoked his rage.A true lunatic despised being looked down on.And once he felt slighted—he'd act out, no matter the cost.

But Qin Yi had misjudged.

No matter how he needled, Feng Wuya didn't take the bait.He stood there, unmoved.

That alone made Qin Yi uneasy.

Had the man seen through his ploy?

It wasn't impossible. From any outsider's perspective, Feng Wuya clearly held all the advantage.

Qin Yi was a mere fourth-layer Qi Refiner, while Feng Wuya had long reached the pinnacle of the Qi Refining stage.

The gap between them wasn't small it was a chasm.

In a straight fight, Qin Yi would die within moments.

But Qin Yi didn't think himself entirely helpless.

First of all, this was the center of Blood Feast Valley—other disciples were all around.Even if none were his friends, they'd never side with an outsider from Luoshan City.

Secondly, he had his greatest trump card talismans.

Dozens of them.

Each one carrying the force of a late-stage Qi Refiner. If push came to shove, he could unleash them all at once.Even Feng Wuya might not walk away unscathed.

Still, despite all Qin Yi's provocations despite the growing tension Feng Wuya did not attack.

That restraint shocked Qin Yi.

For the first time, he found himself truly wary of the man.

Sometimes, the most terrifying person isn't the lunatic who loses control—but the one who can still endure.

A madman who can wait…is a storm waiting to break.

Feng Wuya drew a long breath, then finally spoke, his tone low and deliberate.

"The quota for the secret realm… has nothing to do with either of us.

On the surface, it seems you took my spot, but I bear you no grudge for that."

"Because," he continued, "I've already obtained another."

Qin Yi blinked, then understood.

So Feng Wuya's rampage at the City Lord's Mansion had actually worked. He really had secured a place.

But what did that have to do with him?

"Oh? Then congratulations," Qin Yi said curtly."But that doesn't concern me, does it?You came all this way just to tell me the good news?"

His tone was sharp, testing again, probing for the limits of Feng Wuya's patience.

But the man still didn't bite.

Instead, he said evenly,

"Yes, I did obtain the slot but what you don't know is how.

It came with a price…an agreement with the City Lord himself."

Qin Yi's expression soured, but before he could dismiss it,Feng Wuya leaned forward slightly, his eyes glinting.

"Do you know what that agreement was?"

Qin Yi opened his mouth to say "I don't care" but Feng Wuya spoke first.

"He asked me… to kill someone."

A long, cold silence filled the room.

Then Qin Yi muttered, "I didn't hear that and I don't want to.You should leave."

He summoned a wave of spiritual force to open the door, signaling the end.

But Feng Wuya didn't move.

He smiled faintly.

"There's no need to worry.I've already laid a sound-proofing barrier around this room.No one can hear us."

Qin Yi's face darkened.

After a moment, he asked quietly,"The person you're supposed to kill… is it me?"

Feng Wuya shook his head. "No."

"Then why come to me? Why tell me any of this?"

Feng Wuya's expression tightened grim, reluctant.

Finally, he said,

"The City Lord calculated that to kill this person,I'll have to go through you.

Otherwise, I'd never have a chance."

Qin Yi frowned, taken aback.

"Who… are you supposed to kill?"

Feng Wuya's lips curved into a thin, unsettling smile as he spoke each word clearly

"The Sect Master of the Xuan Sect…the one hundred seventy-first woman to bear the title…Su Meier."
