"PRITI! What…are you doing?"
"You…you don't…belong here. You too…French guy. I don't have much time, just know…"
She coughed up blood. My eyes widened. Shit, what the hell was happening?! I rushed over to her and gripped her face.
"What is happening?! Why are you-"
"Kavya. Get out of here somehow…he's gonna…"
She hacked and gasped, her hands gripped the wall.
"RUN!" she yelled before collapsing.
The officer turned towards us and pulled out his gun. I squeezed my eyes closed, gripping onto Antoine's arm.
Bang!
I slowly opened my eyes and the officer plummeted to the floor, gripping his leg. The blood trickled through the wooden floor.
"Oh hello…Ayaan." the officer laughed, a deeper voice than his voice earlier booming out.
Ayaan gripped the handcuffs whilst stomping towards the officer. He clicked them onto the officer.
"Dicio, what are you doing?!"
He laughed.
"You don't actually believe that's my real name?"
"Then…who are you?"
He smiled and placed his hands onto his shoulders. The handcuffs…disappeared?! Ayaan's hands trembled slightly.

I then blinked at that moment. He was gone. I shivered and knelt to the ground. My stomach churned slightly.
"Ugh…we have to…get the body to the station." I mumbled breathlessly.
"What? But maybe we can save-"
"She's dead. For sure."
My head span. What the hell was happening? How did he disappear, what was she yelling at?-
I have to focus…Clues…clues…
He said that wasn't his real name. Dicio…could stand for something. A codename of some sort. I also had to look into the identity of this young lady. Alright…I'll find out.
*
I chugged the cold coffee and slammed my head onto my desk. My fingers twiddled with my new handcuffs.
"Whoa, did you even sleep?"
"Ha…no."
This motherfucker really had no match. The woman has never been in any shady business, nor has she had contact with any criminals. She only had a mother, who was a housewife to her father. They were an ordinary family. Her neighbour hood was middle class and she had no record of mental instability. The only connection she had was with my brother's company…one of the supervisors. Other than that, nothing.
And Dicio…had nothing either. Other than being a cop and an alpha like me, it was like he appeared from thin air.
"You should rest Ayaan."
"Can't…you didn't really see any files on Dicio right?"
"Who's Dicio?"
My eyes widened.
"Did I hear you right just now?"
"Uhm YEHA, who the fuck is that?"
"A COP WHO WAS-"
My ears rang and I groaned out in pain. Fuck, that hurt.
"I think you should take some days off." he said.
"Nah I'm fine, just working a little too-"
A warm liquid leaked out of my nose.
"OH MY GOD, YOU'RE BLEEDING!"
"Am I?…I…"
My head banged onto the table and my eyes closed.
*
"Hey…Ayaan."
A hand brushed onto my face.
"Can I kiss you?"
I nodded unconsciously. Soft lips brushed onto mine. I gripped onto his head and kissed him passionately. His tongue slipped into mine and I huffed. As my hands moved up his chest, his hot skin twitched.
My blood flowed to my head. My body froze. I can't move.
"You really think you deserve this?…"
I looked up and Dicio's face smiled. As his face warped, my emotions flowed as images popped up in my mind.
"Why the fuck would you do this to me?!" Kavya yelled.
"You've always been the stupid child of mine. Why can't you make us proud for once?" Mom hissed.
"You…left me behind. Like I was nothing." Kavya sobbed.
"You're a disgrace." the voices boomed.
I gasped and opened my eyes to a white ceiling. My hands shuffled through my sheets. Thank god that was just a dream.

"Kavya!"
"Yes?…" I answered.
Antoine hugged me from behind. My face flushed.
"Yesterday must've been awful for you."
"Yeah…your scent calms me down though…"
His pheromones got stronger. I huffed and laughed.
"You sneaky little…"
I swallowed my words and turned towards him. Our eyes locked, hands touched and I leaned in. Our breaths mingled as my hands slipped into his pants. My fingers stroked the cloth around his dick. His head pulled back, his lips trembling on his flushing face. His breathy gasps escaped his lips, pulling me towards the edge.
"I'm so fucking pent up right now…you don't even know." I huffed.
"Then…"
His lips pressed onto my ear.
"Give in…"
***
My hands shuffled through the papers. Suddenly, they slipped out of my grip and tumbled to the floor.
"Fuck!"
My fist slammed into the wall. When I removed my hand, a hole was left in the wall. I gripped my head.
We worked together for so long…so why?

"The new guy has gotten quite a few cases done in the time I can snap my fingers. He's truly a talent."
"Yeah. Rumour has it that he might've been an accomplice in those murders…that's why he's so quick with solving the case!"
"Isn't it rude to gossip about a new co-worker?" I asked.
The officers gasped and returned to their seats.
I glared at Dicio. He breathed in, moving his long black hair out of his face, and continued typing on his computer.
"How'd you do it?"
His purple eyes darted towards me and he smiled.
"What do you mean?"
"How did you find out the murderers so fast?"
"Well…I got all the warrants in a day to search apartments. I found the dna samples, and-"
"Alright, I get it. Just make sure you're not doing anything too hasty, like investigating a house or facility without a warrant."
"Got it, sir."
"I'm not your boss, don't call me sir. Just call me by my name. You do remember, don't you?"
"Yeah…Ayaan."
He smiled.
"How's work for you?" he asked.
"Oh…you know, paperwork."
I haven't been promoted in a long time, and the boss really just made me stay in the front desk, deal with the local drunkards or teenagers. I wasn't a secretary…but it was still something I didn't want to settle for…
"Yeah…you must be having a hard time."
I nodded.
"Well then, if you're not working overtime, do you want to go out for a drink?"
"…sure."
