The next morning, I arrived at Trainer Song's studio carrying my notebook and a demo saved on a production-issued tablet.
My throat felt raw. I'd slept for perhaps four hours, and every time I blinked, the unfinished chorus seemed to appear behind my eyelids.
Through the window, I spotted Trainer Song speaking with a woman wearing a production lanyard. A music coordinator, judging by the scores spread across her desk.
I knocked.
"Come in."
Trainer Song looked up. "Han Jiwon. You registered an original composition."
"Yes, sir."
"Title?"
"UNLABELED."
The coordinator tapped something into her tablet. Trainer Song pointed to the chair opposite him.
"Tell us what it is."
I opened my notebook to the summary I'd rewritten after leaving the practice room.
"Alternative R&B with some contemporary pop elements. It's about the pressure of being defined by other people's expectations. About wanting someone to see you without demanding an explanation for everything."
