It was finally our turn.
Yuhyun stood beside me, close enough that our shoulders nearly touched. Harin took his place on my other side. Behind us, Seungho, Jaehyuk, Sunwoo, Woobin, and Sejin followed in a line.
I'd walked onto this stage so many times that I knew exactly how many steps it took to reach the center. Tonight, somehow, the distance seemed to have doubled.
The other teams had already received their results. Twelve trainees were moving on. Twelve others weren't. There were only four places left, and eight of us were about to find out which side we belonged on.
I glanced at Yuhyun. He caught my eye and gave me a small nod, the same one he'd offered before every practice run. I tried to return it.
We stopped before the judges' panel.
PD Kwon raised his tablet. "Vocal Team. Let's review your semifinal performance."
The massive screen lit up.
