I reached for the remote instinctively.
Soojin noticed. "Do you want me to turn it off?"
"No."
"You don't have to watch."
"I know."
But I couldn't look away.
The finalists still had their phones confiscated. They hadn't seen my livestream, and these interviews must have been recorded before I spoke. Whatever they said wouldn't be influenced by my apology.
Somehow, that made me more nervous.
An off-camera staff member asked, "How do you feel about Han Jiwon's provisional disqualification?"
I braced myself for disappointment. Maybe resentment. Maybe those carefully worded answers about respecting competition rules that people gave when they didn't want to say what they actually thought.
Jisoo appeared first.
