The production assistant led me away from the event hall. I followed, expecting clothing racks and stylists armed with measuring tapes.
Instead, we turned into a corridor I'd never seen before.
White walls. Fluorescent lights. Closed doors labeled Legal, Medical Compliance, and Personnel.
No costumes anywhere.
"I thought this was a fitting," I said.
The assistant glanced back. "There's something we need to clarify first. It shouldn't take long."
We stopped outside Conference Room B.
Two people waited inside: a woman in a blazer with a production tablet, and a man wearing wire-rimmed glasses beside a folder stamped MEDICAL COMPLIANCE.
My stomach tightened.
"Please sit down, Han Jiwon."
The assistant left. The door clicked shut behind me.
The woman offered a polite smile. "I'm from production administration. This is our medical compliance representative. We're reviewing finalist eligibility records ahead of the live broadcast."
"Is something wrong?"
