Chapter 24 - 24. Too Close to Stop

Gwen Stacy came to Peter's home today to hand in the science project they had been working on together.

Aunt May and Uncle Ben welcomed her warmly, just as they always did, their familiar kindness putting her at ease.

After a brief exchange, Gwen made her way upstairs toward Peter's room, expecting to find him buried in his notes or tinkering with something scientific. Instead, when she pushed the door open, the room was empty.

"Huh? Where's Pete?" she muttered, stepping inside.

Her eyes drifted around the room. It was clean, neatly organized, almost unnaturally so for someone his age.

The bed was made, the desk tidy, every book aligned with care. Gwen crossed her arms lightly and let out a small huff.

"For someone who's reborn," she said quietly to herself, "I guess adult life is full of responsibility."

She walked closer to his study table and noticed several notes pinned to the wall above it.

Her curiosity got the better of her. Gwen leaned in, scanning the handwriting, her brow slowly furrowing as she read.

"Damn… in the future he got cucked? And it was MJ?" she whispered in disbelief. Her eyes narrowed as another name caught her attention. "Huh? Paul Baker? Who is Paul Baker?"

Her fingers carefully lifted one of the papers as she continued reading. The more she learned, the heavier her chest felt.

According to the notes, when Peter was twenty-eight, MJ had been stranded in an alternate dimension during a crisis battle against Benjamin Rabin, also known as The Emissary.

"Damn, red flag," Gwen muttered under her breath, shaking her head. "You can't handle four years apart and you left Peter? Four years equals six days in the timeline."

She moved on to the next set of notes, her expression hardening with frustration and sympathy at the same time. Then her eyes froze.

One note was marked with red ink.

"Gwen Stacy?" she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Her heart began to pound as she read through the pages beneath it. The words felt unreal, like they didn't belong to her life, yet they spelled out her fate with terrifying clarity.

After stopping Max Dillon, Harry attacked Peter as the new Green Goblin, blaming him for his father's death. Consumed by rage, Harry kidnapped her and threw her down.

Gwen swallowed hard, her fingers trembling slightly as she turned the page. She read until there was nothing left, then slowly closed the notes. The room felt quieter than before.

"Well," she said after a moment, forcing herself to breathe evenly, "Norman Osborn is getting better now. Thanks to Peter, Norman was able to get back his company."

She placed the school notes they had worked on together neatly on Peter's table, careful not to disturb anything else.

As she turned to leave, something at the side of the desk caught her attention. A small container sat there, pristine and oddly out of place.

"Huh?" Gwen leaned closer. "Why does this look so perfectly—ouch!"

A sharp sting shot through her wrist. She recoiled instinctively, clutching her arm as she looked down in shock.

A spider clung to her skin for a brief moment before dropping away. A wave of dizziness washed over her almost immediately, her vision blurring as her legs grew weak.

"W-What…?" she murmured, stumbling backward.

She collapsed onto Peter's bed, her body going limp as consciousness slipped away.

As for the spider, it calmly crawled back into its container, as if nothing had happened at all.

[Peter's POV]

"Alright, another day's work for yours truly, Spider-Man," I muttered to myself as I clung to the side of a building. "Now I gotta head back home. Gwen must be there by now."

I swung through the city, the night air rushing past me, my muscles still warm from the fight earlier.

After taking down those two helicopter robbers and grabbing pizza with Yuri, exhaustion finally began to settle in. My mind replayed the conversation we had.

Yuri said she would look into the matter about the mask. I tightened my grip on the webline as a knot formed in my chest. I hope it's not Martin Lee. I really pray it isn't him.

A few swings later, I landed near my block, just two streets away from home. I slipped into an alley, peeled off my suit with practiced efficiency, and stuffed it into my backpack.

In my everyday clothes again, I took a breath and walked the rest of the way, trying to look like a normal teenager instead of someone who just stopped an armed robbery.

As soon as I stepped inside, the familiar smell of food greeted me.

"Peter," Aunt May called from the kitchen, her voice warm. "Gwen's napping in your room."

"Napping?" I repeated, pausing mid-step.

Aunt May was busy prepping dinner, moving around the kitchen with effortless grace. She glanced at me with a knowing smile. "Yes, Peter. And make sure you take good care of that girl," she said, followed by a playful, teasing laugh. "Fufufufu…"

I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly. Yeah, Aunt May definitely thought she could see right through me. I mean, I hadn't even asked Gwen out to prom yet. Though… I was planning to do it today.

My heart beat a little faster as I headed upstairs. I reached my room and gently opened the door.

Gwen was lying on my bed, but something immediately felt off. She was sleeping in a strange posture, one arm hanging awkwardly at her side, her breathing shallow. My chest tightened.

Then it hit me.

My spider-sense flared violently.

"Gwen?" I rushed to her side, panic surging through me. I gently shook her shoulders, my voice trembling despite my effort to stay calm. "Hey, Gwen! Gwen!"

No response.

My hands moved on instinct. I grabbed my water bottle from the desk, twisted it open, and sprinkled water onto her face. "Come on, Gwen," I pleaded, my heart pounding in my ears. "Please wake up."

I watched her closely, fear clawing at my chest as I waited for any sign that she would move.

Until a few seconds later, Gwen woke up, slowly moving her eyes.

"Hey, Petey," she murmured.

"Jesus, don't scare me like that," I said to her, a hand on the back of her head and another on her hand.

"Sorry, I just…."

"Huh? Gwen…?"

I noticed Gwen's face was getting red, and even redder. Her breathing was heavy, like she was hungry.

"Peter…."

"Oi! Gwen…!"

She pushed me down in an instant. She was on top of me, her legs on my waist as she bit her lips.

"Peter…, I… can't take… it…!"

"Gwen, get a hold of yourself—!"

I tried to stop her, but she pinned both my wrists to the bed and gave me a fierce kiss.

At first, I was shocked and thought, worth it. But something was not right. She pinned my wrists to the bed. I couldn't move.

I may be strong, but Gwen is like a feather with the brain of an Einstein. But this strength, it's as if…

"Petey…, you're burning up…"

"Huh…?"

I looked at my arm and my body. I was getting red, like I was in heat. Then something snapped in me, one of my memories.

And one of those memories was me and Silk doing, uhhmm…, adult stuff.

Don't think of naughty stuff, readers. I can see you thinking about NSFW shit.

Back to where we were, I noticed there was a reddish bite on her hand and grabbed her wrist forcefully to check.

"Fuck, a bite mark…? Don't tell me she…!"

I checked and noticed the spider was still there inside the container, except it was not shut properly.

"Ahh…, Peter, you naughty boy."

Is Gwen for real right now? Well, I remember Silk and I got bitten by the same spider, and we did uhhmm…, again, "adult stuff," air quotes included.

I web-shot the door in my room and it auto-locked. I tried to escalate the situation and…, holy mother of Lord…, Gwen was taking her clothes off.

"Peter…, just do it…."

Black lingerie set, and big boobas…, not to mention such a curvaceous figure. I think she can be on par with Felicia's level.

"..."

Sigh. As Uncle Ben once said, "Great power comes great responsibility". And this responsibility, well…

It's going to be a complicated one. Because right now, I'm entering the demon's den. And when I mean demon…

I. Mean. It.
