Chapter 28 - THE POUCH

The stadium had sustained massive damage after the clash, the bars of the dungeon gates crooked in different directions.

The imprints of the slashes of the chakras—how many were there? 1, 2, 3... 17. I could see seventeen slashes from where I was sitting.

The sandy ground of the field had a mushy hole in the middle of the arena, cracks in the sand, and a deep cavity at the centre. Araegon's gravity kick had done a number on the arena.

Blood was seeping out from the chain that was stuck in Lord Namor's chest; at least from my direction, I could only see his blood and not the wound that was caused by the chain.

Araegon's face was ice-cold seeing the body of Namor. He had probably done this a hundred times, but I guess he never really got used to it.

Araegon curled his lips, as if giving someone a command, but didnt utter a word.

The chain gained movement and proceeded to shake Namor's body, remaining connected to it the entire time.

The chain moved up into the air, the body of Lord Namor got elevated from the ground, and with a clean pull from Araegon's hand, the chain was finally yanked out of Lord Namor's chest.

I closed my eyes and covered them as soon as Namor's body touched the ground. He had been flipped over, and a whole chunk of his chest was missing.

I couldn't bear to look at it.

The ladies in the crowd were soft-hearted too—or at least soft-sighted—and they closed their eyes in panic, crying out in disgust.

What did you even expect when you came here?

Well, as for me, I am just a 14-year-old trapped in this timeline.

Lord Namor might not have had any family, as there was no crying in the lords' section this time.

Two servants entered the gates of the field, likely to collect Lord Namor's body.

They walked directly to where Namor's corpse had fallen, only to retreat from it in a hurried rush.

Instead, they approached one of the walls and knelt down. Lord Namor's weapons had fallen after his death; they collected the artifacts and cleaned them thoroughly with a clean cloth.

They had brought a bag with them made of quality material with different diamonds embroidered on it. They carefully put the weapon inside, and ran back in the direction they came from.

On the way back, they noticed the body of Lord Namor and stopped for a while, stealing glances up toward the messenger.

I couldn't catch the messenger's exact expression, but he must have nodded at them, because the very next second, they returned to carry the body of Lord Namor.

One servant supported the head, the other the feet, they carried and tossed his body outside the main entrance for the vultures to feed on.
