Chapter 24 - Fun Before The Storm

This is the second day since we arrived at the Empire, and to be honest, I couldn't do anything yesterday because I was busy fucking Sayo the entire day and all through the night, as if we were seriously planning on having a child. It was so intense that even today, Sayo couldn't stand properly, her legs still shaking uncontrollably, her muscles clinging to the lingering memory of the orgasms she had.

Well, right now, I'm fully hooded, walking around the capital of the Empire. After asking around here and there and using a bit of my power on a soldier, I managed to gather some intel about Lady Aria. Though the information I got wasn't about her crimes or fetishes since I didn't dig that deep. It was just her usual schedule—when she moves around in her carriage with her guards, scouting for her next prey. I was given two possible routes, but I chose the one she uses most often according to the intel.

For now, I want to keep Sayo and Leyasu out of this until I meet Night Raid. I made a five-day advance reservation and left a substantial amount of money for both of them. I also used a bit of my Teigu to convince them not to look for me, telling them I went to search for Tatsumi and that I'd be fine. I couldn't simply trust the two of them not to come looking for me otherwise.

The day was still ripe, with about seven hours left before nightfall. I walked into a bar filled with prostitutes and dancers shaking their asses. I sat down in one corner and waved at two dancers to come over and shake their asses for me. Even though my body was still sore from the previous night, I couldn't stop myself from enjoying the sight of beautiful asses bouncing right in front of my face, hehe.

Gulp!~ Gulp!~ Gulp!~

"Haaa~, the taste of booze during the day really hits differently," the blonde-haired woman said with a wide grin as she slammed the massive jug onto the table, her lewd chest bouncing from the impact.

Tatsumi simply stared at the woman in front of him. He was eager about how this strange, drunk woman claimed she could help him, but at the same time, he couldn't help wondering how someone could move around so comfortably with such voluptuous jugs.

"Have a drink, young man. It's good to have some fun sometimes, you know?" the blonde-haired woman said, pushing a jug of booze toward Tatsumi. Tatsumi quickly raised his hand and gently pushed it back toward her.

"Haha, thank you. I'm good. So please tell me, how do I get hired by the government?" Tatsumi asked, anticipation clear on his face. At the moment, nothing else mattered to him but his ambition.

The woman stared at him briefly and clicked her tongue. "Tch. You're no fun. But well, I know a guy in the military who could help you but it doesn't come for free. It costs money," she said, making a spending gesture with her hand. It was obvious she was already tipsy from downing such a large jug of booze.

Hearing her words, Tatsumi hesitated. 'Now it makes sense. Since millions apply every year, it's natural some soldiers would become corrupt and accept bribes to enlist candidates. If that's the case…'

"I understand," Tatsumi muttered as he bent down and rummaged through his bag. A moment later, he pulled out a large pouch of money and placed it on the table.

"This should be more than enough."

"Wow~, you're rich. How did you get so much money?" the woman asked as she picked up the pouch and opened it, realizing it was filled to the brim with silver coins.

"Well, I killed danger beasts on the road and added it to the money I already had," Tatsumi replied.

"I see… so you're strong. You'll become a commanding officer in no time once I speak to that person."

'Is this guy stupid? Why would he hand over this much money to a stranger? He could even use it to become a successful merchant within months, yet he wants to join the rotten military.'

Suddenly, the blonde-haired woman stood up from her seat, staggering slightly before steadying herself. "I'll be taking my leave."

"Alright then, I'll leave everything to you," Tatsumi replied.

"I think meeting me will serve as a valuable lesson for you. I'll take care of it, so wait for me here, okay?" the blonde-haired woman said with a sheepish smile before walking out of the bar.

"Okayyy~!" Tatsumi waved, giggling mischievously as he imagined himself clad in a pristine military uniform. Lost in his fantasies, he began to drool without realizing it.

Watching him from afar, the barman simply shook his head without saying a word.

An hour passed. Then two. Three. Four. Five. Customers came and went, but Tatsumi was still there, waiting patiently.

'Now that I think about it, I don't even know that woman's name. Well, it doesn't matter. She'll be back soon.'

Tatsumi stayed until nightfall, eventually falling asleep on the bar counter until the barman walked over and tapped him.

"Sir, we'll be closing soon," the barman said in a loud yet respectful voice.

"Oh, I—I'm waiting for someone."

"Sigh… sorry to break it to you, sir, but you've been scammed," the barman said with a weary sigh.

"Eh? Huh? WHAT?!" Tatsumi exclaimed, jolting upright as his brain finally caught up.

"To think you'd trust a random person in the Empire like that, haha," the barman laughed mockingly.

"But that's fraud! That should be illegal! I'll go look for her!" Tatsumi shouted, grabbing his now nearly empty bag and preparing to rush out.

"I'd advise you not to bother. The Empire is far bigger than you think, and you don't even know her name. Just give up already, mister. I'm about to lock up," the barman said.

Tatsumi's face darkened as the realization finally sank in. He slowly walked out of the bar, checking his bag in hopes of finding at least a single silver coin but there was nothing.

"To think I got scammed by that big-titted woman… what was I thinking?" Tatsumi muttered dejectedly. After wandering the city for about an hour, the streets grew quiet and dry. He noticed homeless people sleeping in front of shops, stalls, and along the roadside. Walking further, he found a small spot by the main road and laid down.

"I guess this is the valuable lesson she said I'd learn," Tatsumi muttered as he curled up in a corner, covering himself with a small piece of cloth. He was about to drift off when he suddenly heard the sound of a carriage approaching his direction.
