Chapter 190 — Uzumaki Boruto
"Interesting… how very interesting… this distortion in the timeline..."
Yusuke's gaze shimmered with curiosity, his eyes glowing as anticipation replaced confusion.
"Who caused it, I wonder? No need to speculate… I'd rather see it for myself."
Muttering softly, Yusuke vanished from where he stood—disappearing before anyone could even blink.
Moments later, he reappeared just beyond the outer boundary of Konohagakure.
"Oh? This is getting good… Uchiha Sasuke, hmm?" he mused, observing a cloaked man accompanied by a blonde-haired boy whose appearance strongly resembled Naruto's childhood self—although with a more modern sense of style.
Sasuke and Boruto were completely unaware of Yusuke's presence. Silently, he shadowed them toward the village gate and slipped through unnoticed, using his own Sharingan to bypass the barrier.
"So that's how it is… I almost forgot this arc of the story. So that's Urashiki Ōtsutsuki, huh…"
"He merged two sets of Six-Tomoe Rinnegan and two sets of Blue Rinnegan to eventually awaken the Golden Rinnegan… how fascinating."
Yusuke's lips curled into a subtle smile. The Golden Rinnegan, known as the apex of the Ōtsutsuki clan's ocular evolution, was only attainable by focusing every ounce of one's power into a single origin point. The results were terrifying.
Meanwhile, Sasuke and Boruto had already entered the village and were wandering aimlessly.
"We need to find Naruto quickly," Sasuke said, urgency evident in his voice.
They leapt onto a rooftop, staring up at the Hokage Monument.
"So… the current Hokage is Grandma Tsunade?" Boruto asked, surprised.
Sasuke gave a brief nod and began focusing his chakra to search for Naruto's presence.
"Let's find him first," he muttered.
"But Uncle Sasuke… how are we supposed to protect Dad?" Boruto asked, his expression uncertain.
"We'll protect him… from the shadows," Sasuke replied coolly before moving on.
As they turned a corner, Boruto suddenly bumped into someone.
"Who are you—Dad…?" Boruto's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Huh? Who are you, kid?" A young Naruto scratched his head in confusion, staring at them with innocent curiosity.
"What's going on here? Did we land in the wrong timeline?" Sasuke frowned deeply.
They were supposed to arrive during a period when Naruto was older—not still a naive and energetic child.
"A distortion occurred when you passed through the portal… caused by an unknown interference," a voice whispered inside Sasuke's mind.
"Uhh… hi! I'm Boruto," the boy said quickly, trying to keep his cover.
"Oh, I'm Naruto Uzumaki! I'm gonna be Hokage someday!" the young Naruto replied with a bright grin. "But wait a second… you look kinda familiar, Mister."
His gaze now shifted to Sasuke.
"Ugh… it's our first time visiting this village. We're… traveling performers," Sasuke muttered, trying to bluff his way through.
"HELP!" a voice screamed from down the road.
Jiraiya suddenly appeared, yanking Naruto by the collar and sprinting off with him.
With no choice, Sasuke and Boruto followed. But just as the chaos escalated, Tsunade appeared and slammed her fist to the ground.
"You idiot! Jiraiya, do you have a death wish?!"
Her fist crackled with Armament Haki, and the ground beneath her cracked from the sheer pressure.
"T-Tsunade! Don't use Haki on me! I'll really die!" Jiraiya turned pale, trembling under her glare.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes. That technique… Armament Haki? Since when did she have that? I don't remember this from the original timeline... I'll have to ask Sakura about it later.
"If this happens again…" Tsunade threatened, her knuckles tightening.
With a single punch, the earth shattered.
Boruto and Naruto froze in place, jaws dropping. Even Sasuke couldn't hide his awe.
"Who… who are you exactly?" Tsunade asked, her eyes now on Boruto.
"Uhh… we're just traveling artists!" Boruto tossed a red orb into the air.
"Planetary Devastation — Heavenly Star!"
Of course, it wasn't a real technique. The orb simply exploded into colorful lights, like a harmless firework.
"You're not from this village, huh? Fine. Let these two accompany you while you explore Konoha," Tsunade said, walking away—leaving Jiraiya and Naruto bruised and groaning.
Just as Naruto was about to scold Jiraiya, the white-haired Sage was already off flirting with a woman—and got slapped immediately after.
Boruto could only sigh. This guy's supposed to be a legendary Sannin? Doesn't match what Mom told me at all…
"I'll leave them with you, Naruto. I'm off," Jiraiya waved, disappearing into the distance.
"Ero-sennin, come back here!!" Naruto yelled, chasing after him.
"…Guess I'll show you around," Naruto said with a shrug.
As they walked, they ran into a young Sakura.
Sasuke instantly vanished from view.
Boruto couldn't stop staring—at his younger uncles… and his mother. Eventually, Naruto brought him home for the night.
That evening, the two of them stayed up talking. Bit by bit, everything Boruto experienced that day helped him mature. For the first time, he truly began to understand his father.
Later that night, Boruto stepped outside and found Sasuke waiting for him beneath the moonlight.
"Uncle Sasuke… is it true that you once defected from Konoha?" he asked solemnly.
They sat together, speaking about Sasuke's past.
"Yes… your father saved me," Sasuke murmured, eyes distant. Without him… I wouldn't be who I am now.
"Should we tell them something about the future? Like about Urashiki?" Boruto asked.
"No, kid. That could warp the timeline. Worst case… you could be erased from existence."
The voice that interrupted them was calm—but unfamiliar.
Both of them immediately turned, on full alert. They thought it might be Urashiki.
But what stood before them… was not an Ōtsutsuki.
"Who are you?" Sasuke demanded, drawing his sword.
"Oh? You don't recognize me? That's going to make things complicated," the man replied, his voice relaxed.
It was Yusuke.
Internally, he called to his system.
"System, why don't they recognize me?" he asked with a confused frown.
[There is only one system. And it has only one host.]
"I see. So that means I have no future?"
[Correct. Your past has also been severed.]
"In that case, even if I kill my past self, it wouldn't matter?"
[Affirmative.]
Yusuke looked back at Sasuke.
"My name is Hatake Yusuke. Older brother of Hatake Kakashi."
He let out a sigh of irritation. He never liked mentioning that annoying little brother of his.
So… he's Grandpa Kakashi's older brother? Boruto thought, eyes wide.
"As far as I know, Kakashi didn't have an older brother," Sasuke said, frowning.
Still… the silver hair and the eye patch made it hard to deny the resemblance.
"Maybe the timeline is already shifting," Yusuke said with a flat tone.
"How do you know all this?" Sasuke asked, his gaze sharp.
"Oh, come on, little Sasuke. I'm your teacher's big brother. Show a little respect."
And with that, Yusuke's body slowly faded from view—leaving Sasuke and Boruto stunned in the silence of the night.
