"And a good morning to you too Kyra and thank you for the extra pillow"
"Pip"
"And to you Piplup, but why do you have a death grip on me?"
Looking down to my side Piplup was holding on to me, even when I stood up Piplup in her sleep wouldn't let go. Seeing that she would get anywhere with me, Kyra ignored me then rolled over in her sleeping bag to catch some more z's.
"Morning Hikari", "morning Noah"
"Woopa"
"and to you too Wooper"
While looking at Wooper I wondered where my other pokemon was, looking around the camp I found Petilil who was peacefully sitting on Turtwig's shell, in contrast Turtwig was eating his breakfast while glaring at Shinx.
Shinx for his part was just staring at Turtwig, while occasionally shaking his tail. Out of the corner of my eye I found Shinx's bowl tucked in a corner. The turd had already eaten and was just messing with Turtwig.
Turning my head to the side Noah was walking with Wooper, they were walking into the trees of the forest, maybe he wanted to test something out?
Hearing my stomach, I still had to make breakfast for me and my penguin that still wouldn't let go, sighing while shaking my head I went to grab my bag, once she smells breakfast she'll let go of me.
Sure enough while I was making breakfast Piplup completely woke up and let go of me, looking down at her while I stirred a pot of food. She looked at me and noticed my raised eyebrow and she tried to gesture why she was in that position.
Five very confusing minutes later it clicked, for the last few days to avoid spilling her Buizel bites she had the barrel in a death grip however with nothing to grab on to I became the next option.
Giving her a warm smile I made sure that the food was fine before giving Piplup a big hug, she really was like a heavier stuffed animal.
Suddenly we heard a loud boom coming from the direction Noah and Wooper went, the loud noise also got Kyra up, as she shot up from her sleeping bag and reached for her pokeballs.
Just as everyone in our group was about to rush into the forest, Noah came out with Wooper hopping along, he looked nervous. "It's fine, nothing to worry about, it was just some training with Wooper."
Neither me or Kyra took our eyes off him, still seeing the looks on our faces, mainly the one on Kyra's, Noah raised his hands "While I won't say what happened, all I can say is be ready for Wooper in the upcoming gym battle."
Shifting my head down to look at Wooper who had a wide smile that took up half his face I could only silently pray for the gym leader.
After an awkward breakfast with everyone including the pokemon shooting Wooper and Noah looks we all packed up. Surprisingly Kyra released Duskull who didn't look happy to be out but still trudged along with us.
We continued walking until we reached a fork in the road, reading the sign. The direction on the left was a straight shot to Oreburgh city, while the one on the right was a detour heading to a small town.
We all shrugged, the conference was far off from now, we could spare some time for a detour, deciding to take the path on the right. The three of us were overlooking a cliff and in the distance we could see a small town with a big mansion in the middle.
Seeing the size of the mansion compared to the relatively smaller houses Kyra could only whistle, "that's a huge house."
Noah could only shake his head at the extravagance, "yeah, though I can't imagine what I would do if I had that much space."
"Same, but do you guys want to make this interesting?" I asked while looking at Noah and Kyra, "how?" they both asked.
"Lets make it a race, you two against me, the loser has to buy the other lunch and no using pokemon."
Hearing me Noah raised a question, "do me and Kyra both have to beat you for it to count as your loss or just one of us beats you?"
"Just one of you, so it's just a race between you and me."
"Hey!"
Seeing Kyra's raised fist I backed up, "but since I'm such a nice person I'll give you a head start."
Kyra still didn't look happy, but with the prospect of eating on my dime she relented, then recalled Duskull who passed out while we were talking.
With everyone ready I started, "three, two, one, go" the moment I finished Kyra hopped onto Noah's back, at first he stumbled not expecting Kyra's actions after he stabilized himself Noah dashed off.
I also wasn't expecting Kyra to piggyback on Noah, but out of the three of us with her being the slowest walker it made sense. After five minutes they were long gone, with them gone I moved towards the cliff edge.
As a gamer I had failed, upon entering I had never tested fall damage, looking down it was a pretty far drop, after taking a big swig from my water bottle aside from my clothes I stored everything in my bag then jumped.
As I fell, I felt the air rushing past me, all I saw was blurred images of the surroundings, then before I knew it I had met the ground.
If any passersby saw the scene they would be horrified then confused. One moment a girl was falling and upon hitting the ground instead of a body was a satchel in a puddle of water.
My head felt dizzy, aside from that I was fine, looking at my reforming body. I had one thought I should buy some red dye and scare Kyra, maybe I could get Misdreavus and Gastly in on it?
By now I was completely reformed, thoughts aside I still had a race to win, slinging my bag over my shoulder I ran towards the town.

"So what took you guys so long?" I said while looking at my poketch and tapping my foot. Pretending as if I had been there for a long time when in reality I had only been there a few minutes.
"How? How did you beat me, you never passed us?" Kyra said while standing over a disheveled Noah who was sprawled out on the ground.
"Beat you? You mean beat me, I carried you the entire time, you lazy bum."
"I'm not lazy, I'm energy efficient."
Not believing her for a second Noah having recovered some energy picked himself up , "uhuh, sure Kyra, so Hikari you won the race so where are we going?"
I shrugged, "I don't what's here so we're exploring and Kyra since Noah paid for the last time we all ate out you're paying for the full meal."
Noah once zombie-like at the thought of more walking visibly brighten and shoulder hugged Kyra, "thank you so much Kyra, I can't wait to order." While accepting her fate as the loser still Kyra smiled as she walked with us.
Unsuspecting the pain Noah would bring to her wallet.
The town wasn't that big. It was a semi-circle cut off by a lake, sure enough while we were walking we smelled food. The mouth watering smell of roasted meat, turning the corner we found a barbecue restaurant.
Moving inside the restaurant the first thing we all thought was people, the place was packed, any table that didn't currently have people was filled with dirty dishes, luckily for the hostess a bus boy came zooming out from the back and cleared tables.
"Welcome in, are you a party of three?" She said while grabbing some menus
Noah answered her, "yes we are, if possible could we have a booth?"
She nodded then she sat us down, "your server will be Carl", with her job done she went to the hostess stand. Looking down at the menu in my hands I was surprised while it wasn't too pricey but it wasn't cheap, looking around the portion sizes seemed reasonable.
Noah, while using the menu, attempted to hide the smile on his face started a conversation, "what are you two getting?"
Kyra pretending she didn't see Noah's smile kept her cool, "I dunno, it smells good so I'll start with some appetizers."
Nodding my head in agreement, we waited for a bit, then Carl our server appeared with some waters, "sorry for the wait, my name is Carl, are you all ready to order or do you need more time?"
As we looked at each other none of us said no, Carl seeing that readied his notepad, both me and Kyra placed our orders and with that done he turned to Noah. Before ordering Noah looked Kyra right in the eyes then turned to Carl.
"I'll have two number nines, a number nine large, a number six with extra dip, a number seven, two number forty fives, one with cheese, and two large sodas." With our orders taken Carl walked off.
"Wow Noah, you really went all out, thank you Kyra for treating us", I said while patting Kyra on the back.
While I was doing that, I noticed that Kyra's eye was twitching the entire time, as she stared at Noah, "what Kyra? Now you can use all that energy you saved when I carried you down an entire mountain."
Kyra could only keep her mouth shut, refusing to point it out because she was lazy. Because of Noah's large order we were stuck waiting for a while.
After a long wait our food finally arrived and seeing the full order in all its glory all of our eyes bugged out of our skulls, some of the other guests couldn't help but exclaim in shock, it took up the entire table.
"Hope you enjoy" was all Carl said before he left.
Seeing the size of the order I released Piplup, Noah, seeing this released his team. The moment Shinx was released he took in a deep breath, instantly drool started coming out of his mouth as he greedily eyed the table.
The main reason none of the other pokemon in our teams came out is because none of them were interested in real food, Petilil was a plant so the sun was her main source. While Kyra's team was all ghosts who feasted on emotions, mainly fear.
With all the food came tons of sides, except for Shinx we used the other pokemon to finish them.
Wooper was underneath the table eating orders of fries, along with one of the soda's Noah ordered, fun fact about Noah's Wooper he loved bbq sauce. He started slathering it all over his fries.
With our pokemon released we all dug in, in the end I think I went though an entire box of napkins, all of our stomachs were full and everyone was happy.
That was until the bill came, Kyra like me and Noah all of us could barely keep our eyes open. The moment she saw the bill the previously sluggish Kyra gained all her energy back.
"LOOK AT THIS, TWENTY SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR ONE DINNER!"
Noah, hearing the total amount, took the bill from her hand, giving it a once over he nodded, "no, no this can be explained." Noah said while pointing at the bottom, "with all the food I ordered I couldn't resist. The food was so good I ordered some sides to go."
"SIDES, SIDES, you spent twenty six thousand dollars on SIDES?!"
While Kyra chewed out Noah who ignored her by cleaning up Wooper's face I was laughing so hard my gut hurt, but it was totally worth it.
Eventually Kyra gave up, and paid the bill, while she wouldn't be hurting financially she never expected to spend that much on a meal.
With Noah's large order the entire afternoon had slipped by and the sun was about to set, not wanting to travel at night we all agreed to get a room. Because the town was so small, there was no pokemon center, though it wasn't a problem for us. We easily found a hotel and spent the night there.

It was around noon when I finally woke up, even Noah the early bird slept in, after spending a long time cleaning ourselves up we finally left.
After a few hours of walking, Oreburgh city came into view, looking down at the city there were two zones, one was a residential city area while the other was focused on mining. The whole city was surrounded by huge mountains, sort of like being in a bowl.
Standing side by side with my friends we all locked onto the gym near the mining area.
"Are you two ready?"
"Yep and ready to crush this gym" Noah said while rubbing his pokeballs.
"I'm ready to show the world the power of ghost types" Kyra said while adding a dramatic flare by covering half her face with one hand while the other extended making a grabbing motion as if she already had the badge.
"Then to Oreburgh city we go."
