Chapter 232 - Chapter 223: City of Slaughter.

Chapter 223: City of Slaughter.

Tang San and his father had arrived at a small town.

This town didn't look large, but it had a strange atmosphere; everyone had a peculiar chill about them.

Tang Hao brought the disfigured and now-unrecognizable Tang San to the only tavern in the small town.

Inside the tavern, the air was extremely murky, and all the decorations were surprisingly black. Although it was daytime outside, a gloomy, dark feeling washed over anyone who stepped inside.

The arrival of Tang Hao and his son, Tang San, attracted many gazes, but most people merely glanced casually. A little surprised by the disfigured Tang San's ugly and repulsive appearance, they paid no more attention.

Tang Hao found a spot in the corner and sat down with his son. A waiter in black clothes with an indifferent face walked over. "What would you like?"

Tang Hao said coldly, "Two Bloody Marys."

The waiter's expression didn't change in the slightest as he turned and walked away.

A moment later, two cups of turbid liquid were brought over. The liquid was dark red, emitting a strong, pungent, bloody smell, as sharp and acrid as fresh blood.

Tang San frowned, but Tang Hao picked up his cup and drained it in one gulp. He then looked at the unrecognizable Tang San and said, "Drink it."

Tang San didn't hesitate, also picking up his cup and draining it in a single motion.

The liquid was a bit salty, with a hint of sour astringency. The strong bloody smell instantly permeated Tang San's senses of taste and smell.

Only after seeing him swallow it did Tang Hao reveal the answer. "This is a cup of human blood."

"What?"

Tang San's expression changed slightly. No wonder this stuff felt so familiar. When he was disfigured by Tang Hao's punch earlier, wasn't the blood filling his mouth of this exact same taste?

Although he knew he had drunk human blood, he didn't vomit it out like in the original novel. After all, he knew that since Tang Hao had made him drink it, it clearly wasn't just to mess with him. Perhaps this was the condition for entering the City of Slaughter.

Seeing that Tang San's expression only flickered for a moment before he became indifferent, Tang Hao felt an inexplicable chill in his heart. He recalled Tang San's demonic appearance in the previous video… However, he knew he had no path of retreat. He could not possibly give up on Tang San. To get revenge, he still had to rely on this son.

So, forcefully suppressing the discomfort in his heart, he gestured to the people sitting around them and said, "Kill them."

As soon as these words were spoken, all eyes in the tavern immediately focused on the two of them. Everyone's gaze towards Tang Hao turned strange.

"..."

Tang San didn't speak. After experiencing disfigurement and being made an enemy of the world, his heart had turned to iron and stone. He couldn't be bothered to maintain that facade of kindness anymore.

What are the lives of others to me?

However, before Tang San could make a move, the numerous guests swarmed forward, surprisingly attacking the father and son first!

Anyone who gathered in this tavern basically knew some inside information about the City of Slaughter. Because of this, the people here were all desperados—the kind of villains who deserved to be executed ten times over.

Seeing that Tang Hao wanted to kill them, why hesitate? Just go for it.

But unfortunately, although these people were fierce, their strength was lacking. Even the current Tang San could easily deal with them.

His soul rings lit up around his body, and the entire tavern was instantly filled with a layer of crystalline blue. Thick stalks of Blue Silver Grass protruded from the ground, their hard, conical spikes piercing one body after another.

In an instant, everyone inside the tavern, including the waiter, was slaughtered by Tang San. The stench of blood filled the air.

As the soul rings retracted, the Blue Silver Grass vanished with them. Corpses fell to the ground, and fresh blood stained the tavern floor red.

Tang Hao was unusually calm about this. He nodded and said, "It seems I still underestimated you. Remember, upon entering the City of Slaughter, you can only rely on yourself. I won't be by your side, and I certainly won't protect you. There are no friends or companions there, only enemies. Kill anyone who poses a threat to you. Obtain the annual championship of the Hell Slaughter Arena, and I will come for you then."

After hearing this, Tang San nodded, then stood up, walked to the tavern's bar, and kicked it heavily.

The kick, infused with soul power, directly shattered the bar into fragments that scattered everywhere, revealing the ground beneath.

"The entrance to the City of Slaughter should be right here." Tang San looked at the ground, and the Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul appeared in his hand. He slammed it down heavily.

With a bang, a huge hole appeared in the ground, and a gloomy, cold wind blew up from the cavern below.

Having finished, Tang San turned to look at where his father had been sitting but found that Tang Hao had already disappeared.

Without hesitation, he leaped down, jumping directly into the darkness. His body was instantly enveloped by the darkness and swallowed by it.

After falling just a few meters, Tang San landed on solid ground. He didn't need light; his Purple Demon Eye could see everything clearly in the darkness. This was a long passage that sloped downwards, a gloomy aura continuously blowing across his body.

When Tang San had walked some distance, a cold voice suddenly came from all directions, "Welcome to the City of Slaughter. This is the capital of Hell, a world filled with slaughter. Here, you can obtain everything you desire. The price is your life."

His steps faltered for a moment, then he continued forward. After many twists and turns, a light appeared ahead—it was an open doorway.

As he walked closer, he could vaguely hear noisy sounds coming from within.

When Tang San walked out of the passage, a group of knights in full black armor appeared before him. The leading knight held a long spear.

"You have violated the rules."

The low voice sounded extremely cold, as if it wasn't spoken from a human mouth. The one speaking was the black-armored knight seated on his horse.

Looking at the hundred-strong knight legion before him, especially the leading black-armored knight holding the spear, Tang San couldn't help but feel his pupils constrict. He felt a powerful pressure emanating from the knights, and a sense of life-threatening crisis welled up in his heart.

The current Tang San was different from when he entered the City of Slaughter in the original novel. Back then, his strength had already reached the Soul King level, approaching the Soul Emperor level. Now, he was only a Soul Venerate, a difference of almost two major cultivation realms. Yet the strength of Terror Knight Scott before him was at least that of a Soul Emperor!

How the hell was he supposed to fight this?

"Defeat me, and you can enter the City of Slaughter!" Terror Knight Scott said coldly, waving his other hand to signal the knight legion behind him to step aside.

Then, with a squeeze of his legs against his warhorse's belly, Terror Knight Scott charged out like a bolt of black lightning.

Mid-charge, Terror Knight Scott thrust his spear forward. With a cold roar, it tore through the air with a piercing whistle as it aimed for Tang San.

Facing the charging Terror Knight Scott, Tang San knew he had no way to retreat. He could only grit his teeth. He had to fight!
