Those words sounded simple, but Pentos understood what they meant.
The Ambrose Family would no longer exist.
Its wealth, influence, name and position would all disappear. Even if some members survived, they would no longer be Ambrose.
Pentos looked toward Ethan.
Ethan had remained silent throughout the conversation. He simply watched Pentos with a calm expression, as if giving him time to understand the weight of the decision before him.
Pentos lowered his head again.
"My Lord... if I do this, will the remaining members be allowed to live?"
Ethan finally spoke.
"Those who have not taken part in the things Ambrose has done will not be needlessly harmed."
Pentos's expression relaxed slightly.
"But the people who have committed those acts?"
Ethan's eyes became cold.
"They will answer for what they did."
Pentos understood. There would be no mercy for the people who had spent generations using their influence to harm others.
He took a slow breath and then nodded.
