Aralyn looked around her.
She had been fake-smiling and greeting different people who were wishing her well, and she was already tired, tired of seeing unfamiliar faces, tired of nodding and laughing at things she didn't care about. Every five seconds, her gaze drifted back to the grand doors of the hall, silently hoping to see her soon-to-be husband walk in.
But to no avail.
The wedding would begin in an hour.
Maybe he's not going to come anymore.
The thought alone brought a small, secret smile to her face.
That would be for the best. If he just cancels this wedding… it would hurt my ego, yes, but it would be very good.
Aralyn was still lost in her thoughts when someone approached her, a guard, specifically.
"I greet you, my Princess, and congratulations on your wedding," he said with a bow. "Your father has asked me to inform you to return to your room and prepare for the main ceremony. It will begin in an hour, and you are to come out only when you are called."
