It all happened so fast, Ramiel couldn't even process it. One second, Calis was gasping for breath, and the next, he was being strangled by the last creature.
Ramiel's instincts screamed at him to act, but if he attacked now, there was a high chance his strike would kill the beast and injure Calis beyond saving… or worse Death.
"Damn it!" he cursed under his breath, frozen for a split second.

A glowing magic flew through the air, striking the creature dead-on. With a blinding flash, the beast evaporated into dust.
Two figures ran toward them, a young witch, cloaked in deep green, and a child clinging tightly to her side.
Before Calis limp body hit the ground, Ramiel darted forward and caught her with his inhuman speed. But she was still struggling, her breath was ragged, her body twitching.
Ramiel didn't think, he placed his mouth over his, breathing life into him. "His lips are soft, damn it, Ramiel, focus!, focus!"
