Mil slowly pulled Yoru no Kiba from Morgan's body.
Blood dripped from the blade and struck the stone beneath them.
The storm continued raging above Noctharis.
Purple energy still lingered around Ragnorak as the dragon hovered over the ruined beach.
Morgan lowered his head.
"James... you did well."
His voice was quieter now.
"But I think it is time to finish this chapter."
Mil tightened his grip around his sword.
Inside his mind, his thoughts became heavier.
I don't even have much left now.
My powers are slowly fading because of using the dragon...
I can't do much now.
Ragnorak suddenly charged.
The dragon opened its enormous jaws.
A wave of fire erupted toward Morgan, illuminating the entire beach in orange and purple.
Morgan didn't move.
He simply stood there.
Still.
His thoughts drifted.
Dad...
I know I was not the strong one.
But I am not the weak one either.
Above him, the clouds began gathering.
They twisted into a strange formation, leaving only the moon visible through the center.
The moon slowly turned red.
Then the entire sky followed.
Crimson light washed over Noctharis.
Ragnorak hovered high above.
Mil remained standing below.
But something felt wrong.
He could no longer feel his soul.
His breathing became quieter.
Morgan stood with his face lowered.
Ragnorak's fire approached.
Then—
it stopped.
Mid-air.
The flames remained frozen in front of Morgan.
Morgan slowly raised his head.
"I thought I wasn't ready."
A faint smile appeared.
"But I always was."
The atmosphere changed.
The wind stopped.
The waves stopped.
Even the storm seemed to hold its breath.
Morgan whispered:
"Final Testament: The One."
Mil's eyes widened.
Yoru no Kiba suddenly trembled.
CRACK.
The blade shattered into pieces.
The waves remained completely still.
Everything seemed frozen.
Then Morgan disappeared.
In the next instant—
he was standing beside Mil.
BOOM.
A single kick sent Mil flying across the beach.
He crashed through the palm trees.
Ragnorak roared from above and began descending toward Morgan.
But Morgan moved.
One punch.
The dragon was sent straight into the sea.
CRASH!
The ocean exploded around Ragnorak.
Mil slammed into the ground.
Dust surrounded his body.
He struggled to move.
Morgan slowly walked toward him.
"James..."
Mil lifted his head.
"You did well."
Morgan stopped in front of him.
"But I am not the level of you."
Mil suddenly grabbed what remained of his blade and attacked again.
Morgan didn't move.
CRACK.
The blade shattered once more.
Mil stared at the broken pieces.
Morgan looked down at him.
"This is my Final Testament."
He raised his hand.
"It's a power where a user awakens their deepest energy..."
The crimson aura around him intensified.
"...and uses it."
The air around Morgan distorted.
"Your power is nothing in front of mine."
Mil struggled to stand.
Morgan's eyes remained fixed on him.
"James."
His voice became cold.
"You are going to die."
He pointed toward the ocean.
"Your dragon is somewhere in the sea."
Then he looked back at Mil.
"And you are here."
Mil's breathing became heavier.
Morgan continued.
"My powers come from my deepest emotions."
His aura grew darker.
"And for that..."
"I have to accept my deepest emotions."
Mil stared at him.
"How did you do this...?"
Morgan's expression hardened.
"This is the power only the strongest have."
Mil remained silent.
Morgan raised his blade toward the crimson sky.
"You were good, James."
The moon illuminated his silhouette.
"But not the best."
Morgan lifted the blade higher.
Mil couldn't move.
Morgan looked down at him.
"Au revoir, James."
The blade came down.
SLASH.
The crimson sky flashed.
Blood splattered across the palm trees.
Silence.
Mil disappeared beneath the darkness.
TO BE CONTINUED.
