Icarus landed amongst a mass of clamouring swords and shouting humans who were locked in combat with dozens of green skinned, short, stalky goblins.
"Get in formation! We must not let them reach the village!"
The goblins howled and clamored at the group, their were three tanks in front barely managing to defend the archers and mages.
Meanwhile there were several rogues and warriors scattered throughout the goblin horde, on the verge of being overwhelmed but for the most part managing to just barely survive.
Icarus hovered above the battlefield, looking for a group of goblins that wasny near anybody.
Suddenly a huge group burst from the stone mouth of the dungeon which was an ivory coated unassuming cave that, had their not been nearly one hundred goblins spraying out of it.
Icarus shouted at a nearby rogue who was frozen in fear.
"GET OUT OF THE WAY!"
The rogue who was hooded and wielding two daggers snapped back to reality and jumped back, Icarus instantly fired off a pillar of flame.
Roasting the goblins by the dozen as they screamed and fled wildly from the entrance of the dungeon, Icarus supposed even goblin slayer would be proud.
However to his amazement the sheer amount of goblins dying actually quenched the massive roaring flames, however the others had already been killed by the group behind him.
The ones that weren't killed fled in all directions, none toward the village so they were ignored or picked off by archers.
As the rest of them stared at him in shock, the tank that had been commanding them, a large heavily armored man with a large auburn beard and greying brownish-red head of hair stepped out to greet him.
"Well, it seems you are a more capable mage then anyone else here. I'm Bjorn, and you are?"
The man extended a hand and a warm smile, but Icarus wasn't paying him attention any more.
The blood flow from the dungeon hadn't stopped.
In fact it had reached their feet just now.
Bjorn stepped back and put a hand on his sword, evidently ready for battle.
Icarus readied a magic bullet.
From the dungeon, a pair of red eyes stared out.
And then another.
And a third.
When he saw them all there were four pairs of eyes in total.
Three massive serpents attached to the body of a black goat, the goat stood on massive muscular legs and it's eyes faced forward, indicating that this goat was no herbivore.
It's horns branched up and twisted sickly around, the tips of them ended just before the goats eyes.
The three serpents that grew from where the goats back and tail should be were also looking at them.
Without waiting for an order Icarus fired his magic bullet.
The goat roared and a shield defended against the attack, the three serpents glowed a sickly green light and the goat roared again, three massive streams of poison shot from the serpents jaws, the converged and formed one stream.
Bjorn jumped in front of him and blocked the attack, the poison was splattered in all directions around them and melted the ground it touched.
The ground was not all however as bjorns shield also melted in his hand, and he quickly threw it away.
Icarus also grimaced as he heard screams sounding out from behind where those who had been hit by the acid were likely to be melting where they stood.
He could not take his focus off this battle for one moment however.
Bjorn sheathed his one handed mace that he typically wielded alongside his shield.
From his back he drew a massive battleaxe that shone in the moonlight for a moment.
The pair of them stared down their very-lethal adversary, looking for any opening available, however between the four heads and dozens of weapons the realized the would need to take the initiative.
"Left." Icarus muttered.
"Right!" Bjorn shouted.
They shot off in their respective directions, their movements followed by the serpents heads, the goat however did not follow their movements.
Cockyness? Foolishness? Confidence? It was unclear why, maybe it was simply satisfied it's other half was focused on it. And it was focused on the group that stood before it.
However that left a crucial opening.
An arrow wizzed out from behind the trees and slammed into the middle serpent.
The serpent flopped to the ground lifeless, dragging in the dirt as the goat roared, emitting a huge shockwave and j
umping away.
Icarus smiled from the bush he had been knocked into, "three more."
