Well, this is awkward. Hello everyone! Gravemind here.
Remember almost an entire year ago, I said I'm back? Well, I thought I would be, but life had different plans. Lots of stuff happened, combined with further disappointment with WebNovel, and I once again couldn't bring myself to keep writing. At the very least, not on this platform.
Things have changed, though, and I've always regretted dropping this story. I finished another book in the meantime and started a new one as well, but neither of them gave me the same feeling as this one. One way or another, I Cultivate Fear Itself is somehow attached to me on a deeper level. I mean, it was the first book where an artist tried to scam me. But I digress~
Jokes aside, I decided to do something I didn't expect I'd do. I went back to chapter one and rewrote it. Then chapter two, chapter three, chapter four... until I finished the entire Act One. 370 pages, 78,000 words.
To put that into perspective, the previous version of the entire published story had a combined word count of 73,000 and was nearing the end of Arc Two. I've taken the entire conflict between the Han, Lan, and Xu families and really expanded on it. Re-reading will feel fundamentally different, hopefully in a good way. You will see Han Ye do more planning, manipulating, exploiting... and he will also have a worthy opponent. Characters will be more intelligent, and it should feel overall... more believable.
The plan is to release the books once I finish all 3 of them. The reason is that, at this point, my life is kind of unpredictable, and I frankly don't know how long it's going to take. Releasing on a seasonal basis, with multiple books coming out at once, at least guarantees me that I can have a daily schedule during specific seasonal periods, without interruptions.
I will not be giving false promises again, so we will see where this takes me.
