Chapter 107 - Chapter 103 : Multiverse

Like that, the meeting finally ended.

Most of them walked out with the same expression — the tight-jawed, stiff-shouldered look of people who had just learned their entire world was destroyed because a handful of maniacs wanted a "fresh start."

A few muttered curses under their breath.

Jill looked like she wanted to punch a wall.

Peyton actually did punch a doorframe on the way out.

Luke stayed seated, letting them cool down.

But when he finally looked up, he noticed something.

Alice and Jill were standing on either side of his chair… staring at him. Not angry. Not confused. Just locked onto him like two predators circling prey.

Selene stayed in her chair, arms folded, quietly observing with a small, amused smile.

Luke raised a brow. "So may I know why you two are surrounding me?"

Neither moved.

Alice crossed her arms. "We have a question."

Jill leaned in slightly. "A very important question."

Luke blinked. "Okay…?"

Alice and Jill exchanged a quick glance, then looked back at him at the exact same time.

"So tell us," Alice said.

"Are you the reason why our bodies feel strange lately?" Jill finished.

Luke froze.

"…Umm," he said slowly, "you know that sounded very questionable, right? If someone heard you two say that, I'd be dead from misunderstandings alone."

Selene let out a soft breath, trying not to laugh.

Alice wasn't amused. "Just answer."

Jill nodded firmly. "Yes. Say it."

Luke looked left, then right, trapped between two determined women.

And he already knew this conversation wasn't going to end simply.

"I'm indeed responsible," Luke said, raising both hands in a small surrender gesture. "If you're talking about your sudden powers, then yes… that part is on me. Anything else—nope, not taking responsibility."

Alice and Jill looked at each other.

That one sentence answered one of their biggest questions — how they suddenly gained superhuman abilities. But it also created another problem.

Luke wasn't even there when their powers awakened.

So how did he pull it off?

Jill leaned forward. "Alright then… how did you do it?"

Alice narrowed her eyes. "And don't lie. Did you attach something to us? Some kind of device? A tracker? Something that watches us twenty-four seven?"

Luke's eyes widened. "Whoa, hold up. I respect personal space. Stalking someone all day? That's creepy as hell. I would never do that." He tapped his own forehead. "Even I have standards."

Jill didn't let it go. "If you didn't attach anything, then how?"

Alice crossed her arms. "Yeah. We want the full explanation."

Luke sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to figure out the simplest way to explain something that would sound even stranger out loud.

"Alright," he said finally. "Since you want the truth, I'll tell you."

Both women leaned in, waiting.

This was the part that was going to surprise all of them.

And Luke knew exactly how crazy it would sound.

"It's also time for the truth," Luke finally said. "I'm from another world. I have the power to travel from one world to another, and I can grant abilities to the people I choose as companions. So yeah… that's the truth."

Alice and Jill stared at him, their expressions completely blank.

Jill was the first to speak. "Another world… like you're an alien?"

For Jill, "other world" meant "other planet," so naturally, alien logic applied.

Selene couldn't help it—she let out a small laugh. The scene reminded her of the time Luke explained everything to her and how confused she had been too.

Luke shook his head. "Not alien. I'm also from Earth. Just… not this Earth."

Alice raised an eyebrow. Jill squinted at him. Both looked equally confused.

Luke tried again. "There are many Earths across the multiverse. Different versions, different histories, different realities. Think of it like infinite Earths stacked on top of each other."

He made a simple hand gesture, trying not to sound like a science professor. "And I can jump between them."

Jill blinked slowly. "Stacked Earths… multiverse… okay. You lost me there"

Alice nodded. "Yeah, I'm not following that science explanation either."

Luke sighed. "Alright, simple version. When you stand between two mirrors, you see endless reflections of yourself, right?"

Jill and Alice nodded slowly.

"Multiverse works the same way," Luke continued. "Many parallel Earths exist side by side. Most people can't see them or travel between them… but I can."

Jill raised a brow. "Okay… that makes more sense than whatever science explanation you gave earlier."

Alice agreed. "Yeah, this one I can actually understand."

Luke pointed toward Selene. "And for the record, Selene and I are both from another world. That world has vampires and werewolves."

Alice frowned. "For real? Vampires? That sounds like something from a movie."

"Yep," Luke said casually. "There's literally one sitting behind you."

Both Jill and Alice turned their heads slowly toward Selene. She stood there with her usual calm expression, arms folded, completely unbothered by the attention.
