The teachers served as referees for each match, and all student council members assisted them in preparing for the competition. The first half was a match between the 11th graders. Cheers echoed throughout the school field—all classes were cheering for their representatives. The representatives ran towards their teammates, who were waiting for their turn to carry the red and white relay batons. Each 11th grade class leader encouraged their representatives.

"DON'T LOSE, CLASS 11-B, YOU CAN DO IT!"
"KEEP YOURSELF ON, BRIAN! BRING CLASS 11-FA TO THE WIN!"
"DURIA, YOU CAN DO IT! EVEN THOUGH OUR CLASS IS ALL GIRLS, CLASS 11-DA CAN DEFINITELY WIN!"
"JOYCE! DON'T LOSE! QUICKLY GIVE IT TO JULIAN!"
"Haa... Haa... Haaa..." Joyce's voice was breathless.
Joyce reached Julian's position.
"H-here... I'll leave the rest to you" Joyce said, handing the relay baton to Julian.
