Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Aunt Effie

After finishing my preparations for the day, I go downstairs for breakfast. But when I enter the kitchen, what I see leaves me speechless.

What leaves me speechless is Aunt Effie herself, she doesn't do anything special, she just stands above the stove and makes breakfast, but her movements, her body language and her smile is what leaves me stunned.

Aunt Effie's external appearance is completely opposite to mine. She is beautiful, her beauty is comparable to that of the goddess Aphrodite from ancient Greek mythology.

Her body is voluptuous with full curves, her brown hair is long and silky, her eyes warm and expressive like the sun, and her smile so divine that could resurrect the dead.

But what makes her stand out is her character. When I want to talk to someone, she is always there to listen to me, when I need advice, she's there to give it to me and when I need help with something, she's there to help me.

For me, she is the best guardian, and I'm truly grateful to have her in my life.

But she had also sacrificed many things to take care of me.

I say this because even though she's forty-five years old and still beautiful, Aunt Effie never got married.

I don't know whether she chose not to marry or if I'm the reason she didn't. Whenever I ask, "Why haven't you ever gotten married?" She always gives the same reply: "No man is worth my time ….well, almost no man." And each time she says the last sentence, she looks at me with that strangely seductive smile.

If I didn't know her well, I would say that Aunt Effie likes me, but that's impossible, besides the fact that we were related, there's a relative age difference and furthermore there's nothing about me that would make a woman desire me.

Nevertheless, I want to show her how deeply indebted I am to her, and I intend to help her in every way I can.

As I think about all this, my aunt turns to me with a smile and says.

"Good morning nephew, did you sleep well?"

"Y-yes, i-i s-slept w-well."

I try to answer Aunt Effie as calmly as possible, but since she's still in her nightgown, which is quite revealing and accentuates her curves, it's difficult for me to look at her and speak clearly.

Then Aunt Effie asks me, with a suspicious and worried tone.

"Are you sure you slept well, because your face is red?"

'and whose fault is it?'

Because of the embarrassment I feel when I look at her, my face becomes red. As I try to keep my thoughts to myself, I answer Aunt Effie's question as naturally as possible.

"Y-yes, I feel fine,my face is red, because I slept well, anyway, what are we having for breakfast?"

Trying to hide my embarrassment, I quickly change the subject, but Aunt Effie notices. She pauses for a moment, studying me to see if I'm hiding anything. Then she answers my question as if nothing were wrong.

"Today's breakfast is omelette with fresh onions, toasted slices of bread with peach jam and orange juice for you and coffee for me."

When Aunt Effie lists the menu, I hear my stomach growl. Honestly, her cooking can surpass even a five-star restaurant chef, but her talent in cooking is not the only thing that makes her food uniquely delicious, it's also the ingredients she uses.

Almost all the ingredients she uses for her meals are coming from our farm, for example the eggs for the omelette come from our chickens and the fresh onions from our vegetable garden, while the peaches for the jam come from our orchard, the same goes for the oranges. The only things that didn't come from the farm are the bread and the coffee.

As I think about all this, Aunt Effie asks me to do something.

"Stathi my boy, can you set the table?"

I answer Aunt Effie enthusiastically.

"Consider it done, Aunt Effie."

With that said, I move to set the table

After I set the table and we ate breakfast, Aunt Effie and I sat down at the table to digest the breakfast and we started talking.

"Are you ready for your first semester at the university?"

I answer Aunt Efi's question with an uncertain tone.

"Yes… I guess."

Aunt Effie then says something to me with a joyful tone.

"Good. I talked to two of my old friends, both professors at your university, and they told me that if you ever need anything, you could go to them, ok?"

When I hear what Aunt Effie says, I become surprised and I asked her in a curious tone.

"I didn't know you had such friends."

When she hears my question, she answers with a confident expression.

"I have a lot of friends, you know, from almost every profession, and they're all very good people."

I'm curious about the friends she mentioned before, but right now I'm even more curious about those two professors, so I ask her about them.

"About those two professors… have I ever met them?"

Hearing my question, Aunt Effie looks at me with a playful smile, teasing me for a moment before she finally answers.

"You met one of them when you were very young. I don't think you remember her."

When she tells me that I know her, I try to remember, but I can't recall ever meeting a professor. So I ask her about it.

"Who… is it?"

"You'll find out once you get to the university. For now, I want you to take care of the animals before you leave. Don't worry about the rest, I'll handle the other farm chores, okay?"

I answer her in a neutral tone.

"OK, Aunt Effie.

With that said, I prepare to go outside to take care of the animals.

What I don't know yet is what Aunt Effie said about meeting this professor. It's going to have a greater impact than I anticipated, and it will change everything about my university life.
