Chapter 296 - Planning to Head to Alola!

Chapter 296:

The daytime move was lively and bustling.

But that didn't stop everyone from having to return to the old Breeding House after dinner tonight.

After dinner, Hayashi Kaede came to Gardevoir's door.

He rubbed his head, the words on the tip of his tongue, yet feeling hard to say out loud.

But Gardevoir seemed to already know what Hayashi Kaede wanted to say.

It gently turned its body aside. "Gardevoir~" (Come in and talk.)

Hayashi Kaede entered the room.

After moving the cabinet away, Gardevoir's room looked much emptier.

Only the bed remained inside. The bedsheet was pure white, and the quilt was neatly folded in the middle.

This made Hayashi Kaede wonder.

Did Gardevoir use the quilt when sleeping?

"Gardevoir..." (What are you thinking about?)

Sensing its Trainer's thoughts, Gardevoir's face showed a hint of helplessness.

"Ahem..."

Hayashi Kaede felt somewhat awkward, weighing his words. "I wanted to talk to you about something."

"Gardevoir..." (It's about Steenee, right.) Gardevoir pinpointed it directly.

Hayashi Kaede wasn't surprised by this.

He just sighed. "Yes, Steenee cried today."

After this morning, when he called Steenee out of its room, he could clearly see the tear stains on its face.

"It must be missing its mother."

"Gardevoir..." (When I found it, it was at night. The three little ones were being chased by a Trumbeak. It was Torchic who stood in front of them. But by then, the three of them had already been together for some time.)

Gardevoir recounted its first meeting with the three little ones.

Hearing this, Hayashi Kaede grew more concerned. "Then it's a bit troublesome."

According to what Gardevoir said earlier, Bounsweet's mother was caught by a human.

But logically, when most Trainers catch Pokémon, they defeat the Pokémon first, then capture it in a Poké Ball.

In such cases, Pokémon who are inclined to travel with a human Trainer usually don't refuse.

But for a Tsareena, especially one with a recently hatched child, it would show strong resistance when faced with a capture challenge from a Trainer.

If it was still captured under those circumstances, it suggests that Tsareena probably couldn't put up any fight at all.

"I want to go out for a trip." Hayashi Kaede stated his intention.

Gardevoir nodded, its expression softening further.

It certainly knew Hayashi Kaede's purpose for going.

It also felt some regret and pity, wondering why it hadn't searched the area where it found the three little ones more thoroughly back then; perhaps it could have found Bounsweet's mother too.

Even if it couldn't bring her back, at least there would be some closure.

But now, quite some time had passed.

Gardevoir patted Hayashi Kaede's shoulder, feeling that since its arrival, its Trainer seemed to be gradually maturing too.

"Gardevoir..." (Since you've decided, go sooner rather than later. It works out, since you've already bought the furniture and other things today. I'll handle arrangements here after you leave.)

"Gardevoir..." (Also, take Dragonite and... it with you. Otherwise, I'd be a bit worried.)

"Okay."

Hayashi Kaede nodded.

The 'it' Gardevoir mentioned was naturally Mewtwo.

"If I'm not back within three days, remember to deliver the wine to Giratina."

Hayashi Kaede reminded it.

"Gardevoir..." (Don't worry, I can handle most things at home. If necessary, Indeedee can help me.)

"Okay."

Without excessive sentimentality, Hayashi Kaede left and found Steenee's Poké Ball.

After Steenee and Blaziken evolved, they no longer slept by the big tree.

Instead, they stayed in their Poké Balls for now.

He didn't plan to tell Steenee he was going to look for its parents.

Because it was uncertain if he could find them.

Telling it in advance and then failing to find them would only lead to disappointment.

Hayashi Kaede's Viridian Power gently enveloped the Poké Ball. Images of Steenee's past experiences, as it slept soundly, appeared in his mind.

A tropical forest, vines everywhere, a Tsareena, a Trumbeak, a Morelull...

Tropical climate...

The final image settled on a human who had traveled to the forest.

He took a liking to the Tsareena, so he sent out a Gothitelle, defeated it, and also used Hypnosis.

Then he captured the helpless Tsareena into a Poké Ball.

But Bounsweet was still too young at the time; it was hiding in a tree hollow, trembling as it watched the scene outside.

So it didn't see this human's face clearly.

But this was enough.

As long as he went to the Alola region and encountered this human, Hayashi Kaede's Aura would immediately identify him.

Putting the Poké Ball away, Hayashi Kaede went to find Mewtwo.

It was currently floating on the roof of the Breeding House, enjoying the wind.

Hayashi Kaede called it down.

The human and the Pokémon leaned against the doorway of the Breeding House.

"Want to go travel with me tomorrow?"

"Hm?"

Mewtwo floated down. "Where to?"

"The Alola region. Probably for a few days. Interested?" Hayashi Kaede inquired.

"Okay!"

This time, Mewtwo didn't ask for a reason, but agreed directly.

"Pretty boring here, isn't it?"

Mewtwo was silent for a moment, then nodded.

It was indeed quite boring. It didn't know what it could do here.

But it also didn't know where else to go.

Having traveled to so many places, each one was actually quite boring.

By comparison, being near Hayashi Kaede was better. At least here, its mind could be very peaceful.

Hayashi Kaede had an idea. "Want to learn cooking? I can teach you?"

Hayashi Kaede also understood Mewtwo's problem.

It was different from other ordinary Pokémon in this world, bound by familial or friendly ties.

Its proud personality made it difficult to interact with other Pokémon.

And its power was too great; it had no goals or pursuits for anything.

This created a sense of plain emptiness.

Mewtwo didn't speak, but still nodded.

"Rest early."

Hayashi Kaede patted its shoulder and didn't say more.

He needed to give Mewsome purpose in life, couldn't let it always dwell on such thoughts.

But this couldn't be rushed; he could think about it slowly later.

Returning to his room, Alolan Ninetales and the Eevees weren't asleep yet, and Serperior was lying on the carpet.

Hayashi Kaede played with them for a while before also falling asleep.

And after falling asleep, the scene before him subtly shifted...

"Jirachi~"

A clear voice sounded by Hayashi Kaede's ear.
