Chapter 478 - [LOM] 477: The Primordial Demoness Betrayed Again

"I'm not certain," The Primordial Demoness said, shaking her head candidly. The next moment, her voice joined with Tudor's in unison: "But since death is inevitable, why not make it grand and dazzling? If we can drag the entire world down with us, what a magnificent spectacle that would be!"

The atmosphere in the Mirror World shifted abruptly, with the Primordial Demoness at its epicenter. Clearly, her prolonged conversation with Alaric and Medici wasn't just for chatter... it was to buy time for certain preparations.

At the same time, an aura of extreme malice permeated the space, and the long-dormant Dark Side of The Universe appeared silently.

"Rather than fading quietly, you'd prefer to go out like fireworks? Honestly, if you weren't intent on taking the whole world with you, I'd actually admire that outlook," Alaric said with a smile. He suddenly snapped his fingers and stepped back, positioning himself to shield Medici.

"Didn't someone claim they were here to protect me?" Medici shot him a glance, his tone dripping with sarcasm, though he shifted half a step to ensure Alaric was fully within his protective range.

"What can I say? Luck's not on my side today... I didn't roll a Sequence 0. You can't expect a Sequence 2 to handle that kind of monstrosity, can you?" Alaric said with brazen confidence. He tilted his head toward The Ancient Sun God, summoned by his snap, and added, "Besides, I called in backup! That's how we summoners roll... our main body's fragile, but our summons are the real firepower."

The Ancient Sun God, dubbed a "summon," gave a wry smile but didn't protest. He turned his gaze to the Primordial Demoness, his expression growing serious.

"It's you!"

The Primordial Demoness, who undoubtedly knew The Ancient Sun God, showed a flicker of surprise upon seeing him. Then, as if realizing something, she said with sudden clarity, "Of course it's you! No wonder... no wonder Leodero, Aucuses, and Herabergen suddenly united. Only you could bring them together so seamlessly."

Tudor, having risen in the Fourth Epoch, was less familiar with The Ancient Sun God, but as the Blood Emperor, he wasn't ignorant of certain histories and quickly pieced things together.

"It's been a while, Cheek," The Ancient Sun God said with a sigh, his gaze on the Primordial Demoness devoid of sorrow or joy. "I never imagined you'd take on such an identity. Had I known, you would have fallen long ago."

The Ancient Sun God had indeed been unaware of the Primordial Demoness's true nature. Otherwise, Adam wouldn't have supported Tudor in the Fourth Epoch, nearly allowing this deranged pair to create a miniature Original Creator.

To such a mad and world-threatening existence, The Ancient Sun God's stance was always ruthlessly cold.

"How heartless, Sun God," The Primordial Demoness said, unsurprised by his words. She smiled, "No wonder Adam so easily chose to sacrifice Medici. Deep down, you're a callous man. 'God loves the world,' hah... but you love only humanity as a whole, not any single individual."

The Ancient Sun God didn't respond, merely raising his hand. A brilliant golden light erupted, dispelling the destructive force that had been silently eroding the space.

The Primordial Demoness's expression grew serious, tinged with excitement. Facing The Ancient Sun God meant a higher chance of failure, but it thrilled her.

Deep down, both she and Tudor were bellicose, driven by their pathways' instincts to conquer.

"Ugh…" At that moment, the Primordial Demoness sensed something. A wall of ice formed, blocking a blade aimed at her lower back. Though the blade was stopped, the attack wasn't fully repelled, and a foul energy seeped into her.

"Farbauti!"

The Primordial Demoness's voice was laced with disbelief as she repelled the Devil Monarch. Shocked, she demanded, "Why?"

Then, as if realizing something, she sneered, "Do you really think these so-called saviors will accept a sinner like you?"

"I don't care!" Farbauti finally spoke, his heavy gaze fixed on the Primordial Demoness. "Accepted or not, I've long been prepared to die. But I won't go down as a sacrifice for you and your lunatic lover."

Farbauti meant every word. Though Alaric had contacted him, he didn't fully trust the obviously dangerous figure or believe Alaric could save him.

Still, the Devil Monarch had agreed to betray the Primordial Demoness... not for any grand reason, but because if he were to die, it would be in battle against the Outer Deities, as he'd long prepared. He refused to be dragged down by this deranged duo.

"Both of you, I may not understand love either, but I'll say this: see a therapist. You're sick... seriously sick," Farbauti said, looking at the Primordial Demoness and Tudor.

…

While the Mirror World descended into chaos, in the real world, Amon, the King of Angels, had effortlessly subdued all the demigods.

Though some among them were Angel-level, to Amon, anyone below Sequence 1 was just a crunchy snack... though, of course, he wouldn't actually eat them.

As for where the Sequence 1s of Intis, Feysac, and other nations had gone? Let's just say never underestimate a Sequence 1's instincts or their ability to survive.

Such beings always had backup plans... tacitly allowing others to ally with the Primordial Demoness while preparing to surrender or flee if things went south.

Amon didn't care. He knew that whether their surrender was genuine or not, someone would teach them a lesson.

Those who could live as honest citizens would survive. But anyone harboring doubts and acting on them? Sorry, the Republic was short on high-Sequence characteristics.

Why did Alaric never care whether repentant souls were sincere? Because he never gave them a second chance... and sometimes, he'd even bait them into slipping up.

Those who could play the part of a good person for life were, in Alaric's eyes, distinct from true saints, but he could accept them.

With that in mind, Amon shook his head, glancing at the unstoppable rebel army. Estimating the time it would take them to seize Intis's capital, he fell into a brief silence.

Today's decisive battles weren't limited to Intis's capital. The situations in other nations were largely similar, though without as many demigods or a Primordial Demoness lying in wait.

This meant that after today, the war of revolution would largely conclude, leaving only some cleanup tasks.
