His gaze fixed on a shadowed corner where the sound had come from.
And then he saw him.
Someone he never expected to find here.
"Sir… Sir Melchior?"
Sylene's breath caught in his throat.
Something was wrong.
Sir Melchior didn't look good at all.
There was something off about him — something deeply, disturbingly wrong.
Only then did Sylene notice the unconscious hybrid lying nearby. He didn't know what had happened, but the hybrid looked physically unharmed… just knocked out cold. The hybrid looks good...his delicate face sleeping soundly at the corner.
...why is Sir Melchior alone with this hybrid? There was sense of urgency and jealousy clouding his mind but Sylene focusing on the vampire before him.
And...Sir Melchior was not himself.
"Sir? Sir?? What happened, sir? And why is...a hybrid lying there?"
When Sylene had left earlier, Melchior had been offered wine by a noble.
His drink had been spiked. He should have been more careful.
