Mavis had said this terminal could contact the resistance.
Sylene inhaled quietly.
"Sir," he began carefully, choosing each word. "I need to ask them. Sir Zephyr… they do need help. And you could do it—with your brilliant mind. But…" He hesitated. "I'm not sure. I need to ask first."
Mavis stepped in smoothly, easing the tension.
"Yes," he said, nodding. "As long as your intentions are pure, you can help the hybrids. They'll appreciate it. But… Sir Alden is a pureblood. You'll face some kind of discrimination. You see, the hybrids are traumatized—by humans and...by vampires."
Alden's expression shifted instantly.
