The door closed behind "the Revolutionary" with a dull thud.
She walked down the long corridor without looking back, as the white lights on the ceiling flickered on in front of her before going out behind her. The silence in this part of the building felt unnatural. There was no sound of ventilation, no murmur from a nearby room, only the soft rustle of her clothes with each step.
It passed through each layer as if it were omnipresent, in barely a few minutes it reached the end of what was called infinity.
This one was different from the previous one. Its black surface had no screen, no handle, and no device allowing it to be opened from the outside.
The revolutionary woman simply placed her hand against the door, if you can call it a door.
A white light briefly crossed his palm.
When she entered, a metallic smell immediately reached her.
The play was limitless.
Several columns supported a ceiling so high that it almost disappeared into the darkness.
In the center, four large seats, three of which were already occupied, gave the impression of floating in the air, forming an incomplete representation of Fantasy Game.
Only one seat was completely plunged into darkness.
The others shone faintly.
The first on the left, a man. He was tall, far too thin to give an ordinary human impression, with a long, skeletal silhouette that seemed almost to have been stretched. His black hair fell around his face and further accentuated the pallor of his skin.
He didn't turn around when she entered; it was as if he were dead.
"The Revolutionary" continued to advance and settle in the only free space, letting out a breath of relief.
– what a bad woman
The voice was dry.
She stopped just as her ear was being drawn to the smell of deep decay, which rose to her nose.
– You could at least look away before you speak
The man gave a short laugh; he didn't seem to resemble his appearance on the inside. This man was handsome, shining with long hair and golden curls; his muscles were like they were carved from stone, but as soon as he opened his mouth, all this beauty became invisible.
Its name: vanity
– that you are being harsh with me
He turned around. His eyes were fixed on her.
He was directly on her left, framed by "old age" and she by "evolution".
– you might leave us early with all your back and forth
The revolutionary woman did not reply.
She finds him so boring.
– You continue.
He approached his seat.
His fingers moved through part of his seat.
– Let me discourage you, you won't find anyone to take you if you don't just accept it and stay with us.
He moved even closer.
– This is the umpteenth time already, you had me betting that this time would be different.
The revolutionary woman observed him for a few seconds.
– I never promised you it would be quick.
– You promised me that you would achieve your goal and laugh in our faces.
– I will reach it.
The response was so calm that it almost seemed to annoy the god even more.
He looked away.
– hhum
He gave a joyless smile.
A silence fell.
Vanity eventually returned to her seat and crossed her arms.
The other two were completely indifferent to their scenes; they individually seemed to be sinking into a deep sleep upon eternal beauty.
"The Revolutionary" turned his attention back to her.
The god was watching so intently that he could see right through her.
– Him.
– Mind your own business.
– He's still moving forward.
– You're really tiring.
– he has no will
The discreet smile vanished from the lips of "the Revolutionary".
– I never took away her right to choose.
The god burst out laughing and frantically beat his thigh while laughing heartily.
He pointed at it and went back to wipe it.
a non-existent tear
– Then why is he always where you want him to be?
She did not answer.
– You'll always make me laugh so much.
