Annalyn POV
I noticed it on the third morning when I got dressed.
The fit was different. Not dramatically, not in a way anyone else would catch from across a room, but I knew my own body well enough to recognize when something had shifted inside it. I stood in front of the mirror for a moment and placed one hand flat against my stomach and stayed there.
Three days.
A pregnancy at eight weeks should not be showing anything at three days past confirmation. The timeline made no biological sense, which was exactly what Selene had told me to expect, and knowing something is coming does not always prepare you for the actual arrival of it.
I found Matteo in the kitchen before the rest of the house was properly awake. He was standing at the counter with a cup of coffee, reading through something on the table in front of him, and he looked up when I came in.
"You didn't sleep," he told me. Not a question.
