The war arrived all at once.
That was the part nobody had planned for adequately, including the people who had spent months planning. The Black Wolf structure collapsed overnight, and every faction that had been holding its position because the Black Wolves were holding the center suddenly had no center to orient around. The vacuum pulled everyone forward simultaneously, and what resulted was not a coordinated conflict with lines and objectives. It was every surviving pack moving at once with no shared direction and no shared target.
I was in the middle of it.
The entity had full control when the first wave of wolves reached the outer grounds, and it processed the battlefield the way it processed everything else, as a field of obstacles and non-obstacles, sorted by proximity and threat level, addressed in order.
I watched from the inside and I could not stop any of it.
