Celix's laughter broke out suddenly and loud, mocking , it clashed with the sound of the rain still dripping from the eaves. My whole body stiffened as I sat inside, listening through the thin wooden walls. The sound grated against my nerves, sharp and cruel, like nails dragged slowly across glass. The rain outside felt endless, as if the night itself refused to move on, trapping us all inside this moment.
"What's so funny?" Matteo snapped at him, his voice rough, dangerous.
Celix tilted his head, his tone sharp as a blade. "I was only thinking… both of you were so busy earlier having sex, that your moaning almost disturbed me. Don't you think it's amusing turning into enemy quickly?"
