'Can he atleast respect the dead!? W- well, i guess i shouldn't be surprised.. Adventuring had always come with these kind of risks..' Syla thought, he found Fedhr's lack of empathy a bit worrying.
"That's the dungeon." Fedhr whispered as he and Syla peeked from behind the tree.
"Yeah, that's undoubtely a dungeon." Syla responded with a serious face. "What do we do? Just charge straight into it?"
"What? you have other plan?" Fedhr asked, he looked strangely confused as if he didn't know any other way than charging straight through the dungeon and killing anything around him.
"Well— Uhh.." Syla looked into the sky for a while, thinking about any possible strategy that she could use before entering, and although she suggested that they shouldn't charge directly, she was also lost for any solution that could be safer than just brute forcing it. "Damnit, i guess you're right.. Using fireball inside of the cave would cause it to crumble and buried us a couple feets deep into the ground.."
"You can use magic? Heehh, that's really convenient, i could only summon a gust of wind to cool myself." Fedhr said, he sounded surprised, but the only thing that changed from his face was his eyes that slightly widened.
"I don't need magic to kill some orcs, my sword is enough for that." Syla replied, her face turned cold as if she was ready to kill.
"Guess so, then let's go." Fedhr soon walked from the tree and he revealed himself to the orcs that were guarding the cave entrance.
Grakh!?!
GRAKH!!?
GREUKHH?!?
Almost immediately, the orcs turned their head and shifted their attention to Fedhr, he gripped his large sword as he saw multiple orcs charging towards him.
"You're quite strange huh." Syla said after seeing Fedhr moving alone.
Just seeing it wasn't enough for Syla, she had to get involved aswell, and that's when she also came out of her hiding and approched Fedhr, her sword was already in her hand she smirked at the incoming orcs that were about to be turned into a mince meat.
GRAKHH!!
GrUkhh!?
SWING!
THUD!
G- GRUH!?
SWING!
BOOM!
Syla and Fedhr moved together and they clashed with the orcs right infront of the dungeon entrance, Syla used her agility to cut down manh of the orc's head, her sword was still sharp even after all of the battles that Syla had gone through. Her flexible body allows her to dodge all of the attacks that were coming from the orcs, her upper half sometimes get bended into almost a 90 degrees angle while she swung her sword into one of the orc's belly, cutting a huge chunk of it and letting all of the blood inside to gush out like a waterfall.
Fedhr also showed a fair amount of strength, his thick sword allows him to overpower every orc that tried to attack him, he parried all of their swings until their stone axes were thrown away from their hand, that's when Fedhr launched a counter attack, he swung his sword horizontally, splitting 2 orcs in half from just one attack, he then continued to do the same to the other orcs and landed a vertical attack, his sword hit the ground like a grenade as the force that came from his strength exploded right infront of him. By the time he was done, the entire area around him and Syla was covered with nothing but blood, and corpses.
"Phew.. That didn't take long." Syla said as she wiped some of the blood on her face.
Her cloak was all torn and dirty from the fight, although she was confident in dodging every attack that was coming from the orcs, defending her cloak that's swaying in chaos was a different story, her body might not be hit by the orc's attack, but her cloak sure did.
'I would probably need a new one after this.. If it weren't for this cloak, my clothes would be the one that got torn apart.' She thought, appreciating the cloak that was given by Marrick as without it, she wouldn't be able to conceal herself and avoid washing her clothes after every quests.
"There's probably more inside." Fedhr said with a blank face, his eyes was focused to the cave entrance.
"Yeah." Syla replied, her face surprisingly isn't that different from what Fedhr made.
After cleaning themselves a bit longer and making sure that none of them got injured, Syla and Fedhr soon entered the cave.
.
.
Plock!
Plock!
The sound of a water droplets falling into a puddle was constantly heard inside the cave as Syla and Fedhr carefully watched their foots with each step they took.
The inside of the cave was dark, there was no light source that could guide them, but that is if they had to rely on something natural, and they all knew that this world is everything but normal.
'The cave is wider than i thought.. But its way too dark, i could only something that's within a few centimeters infront of me..' Syla mumbled in her mind.
Fedhr was following her from behind as Syla walked with a fireball in her hand, Syla remembered that fire magic wouldn't burn its caster unless it was released, like how a fireball that was shot beneath its caster could injure them, Syla thought that if she just kept the fireball in her hand and not shoot it anywhere, it wouldn't burn her, and she was right.
The cave was lit up by Syla's fireball, and the two of them walked slowly while trying not to trip between the uneven edges and terrains that filled the cave.
Grakh!?
Suddenly, a groan was heard near them, knowing that it could be an orc, Syla and Fedhr quickly prepared for defense, and when they heard the loud thumping sound of multiple footsteps, they realized that there might be more than just one orc.
"I don't know if i would be able to keep this fireball while i fight." Syla said.
Before long, a group of orcs came out from behind the cave wall that was supposed to be a turn, Syla and Fedhr watched as more orcs kept coming, and when they realized it, there was already more than 10 orcs that was charging for them.
"I get why its a dungeon now– they're restless and endless.." Syla scoffed while gripping her sword tight.
GRAKHH!!
GRAKH!
GRUKHA!!
"I'll handle it."
Fedhr was the first one to charge back, and just like before, he ran in a straight line and swung his sword horizontally, he unleashed a heavy attack that cuts even the air around as strong wind with the shape of the blade was thrown right into the orcs.
SLASH!
SLASH!
Fedhr killed 5 orcs in a single blow, showing off his strength that in all honesty, doesn't match his body build at all, although he looked somewhat well-built, it shouldn't be enough to be able to pull of something like that. Atleast that's what Syla was thinking.
"This is easier than i thought." Syla said, she didn't join the fight and decided to just watch while holding the fireball in her left hand.
GRAKH!!
Out of nowhere, an orc that looked like it was separated after Fedhr's attack suddenly saw Syla standing still, and it thought that she was an easy target, the orc ran with ita stone axe held high and was about to strike when his hand went numb.
Slash!
Syla had cut the orc's arm with her sword, she attacked while standing still and was still able to dodge the orc's attack by just sliding her feets to the side, since the orc was trying to land a vertical slash, Syla had a lot of room to dodge and counter attack by swinging her sword above to cut both of the orc's arms.
"You should've went for Fedhr." Syla said as she watched the orc that foolishly approached her fall to its imminent death.
