Bzzt!!
Bzztt!!!
Thwack!
Syla slapped her cheek with her left hand, killing the fly that landed on her skin as she clicked her tongue in frustration.
"There's more flies and mosquitos than before.. Is this place a swamp or what?!" She angrily said. "—Is it because of the Forest Bear that i killed earlier?.. That attracted these flies? Im not that far from the corpse, and there were less of them a while ago, so it could be that they're coming from all direction after smelling the bear carcass.."
'The smell will be unbearable soon, i should get going..' Syla thought. she fastened her walking speed and quickly got away from the Forest Bear corpse.
.
.
10 minutes later—
Syla was getting closer to the cliff, she could clearly see the walls now, and just as she had expected, the mosquitos and flies that previously were swarming her now seems to have decreased in number after she was far enough from the bear corpse. As Syla was taking her step carefully, she accidentally stepped on a stick, splitting it in half with a loud crack.
Crack!
Grakh!?
Grakh!?!
Greuk!?
When Syla stepped on the wooden stick, a quiet yet alerting groan was heard from a spot that was near her, there weren't just one of them that made the sound, but multiple. Knowing that there's probably a monster behind the bushes beside her, Syla who had her sword still within her grip, prepared for battle.
'From the sound alone.. There's approximately 3 orcs..' She thought.
Then, after waiting for a few seconds, the orcs appeared from behind the tree and bushes, they were in group, and unlike what Syla had assumed, the orcs were not just 3, but rather 5. The other two was seen eating on what seem to be a Grass Deer corpse when the three orcs came through.
Obviously, the three orcs instantly saw Syla who was standing infront, her sword still covered with the blood of their kinds, seeing as how Syla was all alone, the orcs didn't waste anytime before they charged together at the same time.
GRAAKHGH!!
GERURKKK!!!
"Seriously, there's too many of you!" Syla shouted as she leaped through the air and did a backflip while passing by the orcs, her eyes met with the orcs whilst her legs were above her and when she landed, Syla dashed forward straight into one of the orc's leg.
Swing!
Her sword cut through the thick limb and soon, one of the orc falls to the ground after its leg was cut off by Syla.
'Their attacks are all the same, i could defeat them with my eyes closed..' Syla said to herself.
The remaining two orcs that saw their friend being immobilized was enraged, and they roared before charging once more, their scream echoed throughout the forest as their thick legs thumped through the ground with a loud thud.
Syla also decided to dash forward, her sword's tip facing at one of the orc's heart as the two of them clashed, on one side, the orc swung its stone axe at where it thought Syla would be, but on the other side, Syla had already arrived infront of the orc, her blade pierced through the orc's heart and she dragged her sword upwards, slowly making its way to the orc's head as the blade cut through whatever it came across, skin, meat, organs, and even bones, it became a bloodbath.
The last orc, realizing that it had no chance of beating Syla, resorted to calling for backup, the orc groaned as if alerting the other two orcs that were eating and urges them to come.
GRAKH! GRAKH!
However, while it was calling for its friends, Syla secretly moved between its blind spot, and before the orc knew it, his brain was already cut by the sword's tip as it pierced through its head, killing it instantly.
"Phew.." Syla swung her sword in the air after killing the three orcs, her cloak was covered in blood, now more visible than ever, it's as if the cloak had changed color from black to red.
It doesn't need to be explained that Syla soom defeated the two orcs that were coming for her, in the end, Syla killed all of the orcs and walked towards the Grass Deer corpse.
.
.
"The antler's still there.." Syla said, staring into the poor creature that had already lost half of its body, either to being eaten or due to something else.
'I could've given this to Errick– Turns out.. The Grass Deers were killed by these orcs, and their population gradually shrinked, thus causing them to become rarer to come across.'
Syla looked into the sky, the tall cliff that she saw before is closer and bigger now, she could see a single flower growing at the farthest edge of the cliff, where the curved walls meet with the cliff's roof.
There were also a couple birds flying among the clouds, some of them looked bigger, quite similar to how a dinosaur would've looked like, while others looked similar to a normal bird, except they probably have an extra wings or a horn.
Bzztt!
Bzzt!!
Syla soon heard the familiar buzzing sound from the flies, they're starting to discover this corpse, and if she doesn't leve now, it will be a hassle to deal with the swarms.
"I should get going." She said.
The sun was still high, yet Syla already felt like she had done something for more than a day, although her stamina were still enough for her to keep fighting, it's not the same with her mental fatigue.
'I swear if there's more orcs–'
Grakh!?
Graakkhh!
At that moment, Syla regretted have thought about orcs in her head, as seconds later, more orcs started to come into her way, and they're all nothing but the exact same copy of all the previous orcs Syla had fought since the beginning.
Tired with all of the orcs that keeps coming, Syla didn't even feel interested in fighting them, instead, she felt mildly irritated and quickly killed the orc without wasting any time, the two orcs that came after Syla didn't even get a chance to fight back or swing their axe, their head was gone before they could do anything.
Thud!
Thud!
"Im getting closer to the dungeon, there's no doubt about it now, an orc dungeon really formed around here." Syla said as she walked closer to the cliff, trespassing multiple bushes and weaving through trees that had their branches lower than a kid's height.
Grakh!!
Gruekh!?
Greaakhh..
More orcs appeared infront of Syla, but this time, she was hiding behind one of the bushes, thankfully she wasn't found out yet and could observe the orcs quietly.
"They're growing in number.. Now there's 6 of them.." Syla whispered to herself.
"The cliff's is right around there, and if there's a lot of orcs grouping in here, that means they most likely came from that cliff.. I remember dungeons usually took the form of a cave, so if my guesses is correct, then beneath that cliff, there should be a cave entrance that leads to the dungeon."
Syla was about to attack the group of orcs, her sword was ready to kill, and her eyes was focused at one of the orc, as if it would be her first target.
Rustle!
But just as her right leg moved a few centimeters forward, Syla was startled by a rustling noise from the distance, it came from her left side and whatever making that sound, it was coming way faster than she thought.
'What is that!?' Syla was alert and stayed still, her plan of attacking now need to be delayed indefinitely.
Swoosh!
Grakh!?
SWING!
From behind one of the tree on her left, Syla saw a humanoid figure moving at an incredible speed, the figure moved in a straight line and caused the group of orcs to attack, his path was obvious and predictable, and yet the orc seems to be struggling. When Syla caught a glimpse of the figure while it was slowing down, she could see that it was a man, presumably in his 20's, and he wore a light armor with black long pants, his hair painted in cyan and his face looked rough, as if he had been ambushed before and survived with a claw mark on his lips.
'An adventurer!?' Syla thought.
The adventurer infront of ber skillfully killed the orc with his own sword technique, his movement eerily mimicking how a bear would fight, his swings were heavy, precise, and straightforward. He didn't rely on agility, he didn't dodge any incoming attack from the orc's stone axe, he instead faced it head on and parried the attack by his pure strength.
With just one swing, his sword cut through 3 of the orc's body all at the same time, killing them almost instantly before he moved to the other 3 where he also killed them fairly quickly.
Slash!
Slash!
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
'W- woah.. who is he!?' Syla was momentarily amazed by the adventurer's bravery and also confidence in his strength, she doesn't know whether to approach him or see him as an enemy.
But even though Syla was being quiet while watching the battle, she never expected to be shocked when she saw the man infront of her suddenly turned his head exactly at her direction, as if he knew that Syla was hiding there.
'H- huh!?'
