Syla then pulled out her sword from the cloack, the bright metal shines as the sunlight was reflected into it. A momentary flash of light blinked and Syla began walking closer towards the group of bandits infront of her, followed by Errick and the rest behind.
"—Tch, acting all mighty when you're just a damn monster, it pisses me off." The bandit leader frowned and clicked his tongue in frustration as he finds Syla's bravery and confidence annoying.
"You three." He suddenly called as he turned his head towards the three bandit that looked like triplets with similar faces and was holding a dagger in both of their hands.
"Ha? You called boss?!" One of the triplet said eagerly.
"What is it!?" The middle one added almost immediately.
"An order!?" The last triplet also talked, it's as if their brain was also identical.
"..Go and make a mess out of that bitch, everyone else follow those three closely incase of the others trying to intervene." The bandit leader pointed his finger towards Syla before moving it to the side of his neck, swiping it across his throat as a gesture of beheading.
"Ooohhh!! I like that!" The middle triplet said with an eerie smile.
"We like that!" The left and right triplet quickly replied along with him.
Soon, the triplets held their daggers tightly and they hopped around, jumping forward in a continuous and zig-zag motion as they approached Syla, because of their similar figures and quite literally also personality, they can easily confuse anyone when they moved together.
"Watch out- They're coming.. That doesn't look like a good opponent.. Judging by how their body is slim and they wore little to no armors, they're most likely an agile fighter.. Be careful." Errick noted the triplets characteristics, thanks to his past experience of fighting many creatures or people that had similar appearances.
"It's obvious to us too.." Yveia responded as she raised her weapon of a Halberd to the same height as her chest.
"I doubt any of us had enough rest after fighting that drake.. And now we have to deal with this, heh- talk about having a bad day.." Anther chuckled, though his face clearly didn't took this matter lightly.
"I don't like how they're moving.. What is that, some kind of a wriggly abomination– Tch.. A triplet bandit, never seen one before.." Hilma said, she felt a bit disgusted by the triplets behaviour.
Syla glanced at the carriage behind her, Paroug was nowhere to be seen, it seems like he went inside the carriage and hid there, which made Syla a little relieved because she knew that Paroug wont be able to handle all of the bloodbath that'll happen a few minutes later.
Once she turned her attention back towards the bandits that was walking towards her, Syla decided to follow along and move forward aswell.
"Syla?!" Errick called after seeing Syla suddenly walking forward without any reason.
"Errick, i think that triplets is here for a duel, and their opponent is me. If you were to join in the battle, the other bandits around them wouldn't let you do so.. That's why, don't bother to look at me and just deal with whatever's infront of you." Syla said, her head still facing at the bandits, she didn't spare a moment to look Errick.
All he could saw was the back of her hair and the intense aura that she emits during her march.
'—I can't believe there's someone like her.. If she was a human, i would've assumed she's a noble that had received training.. But a demihuman, and she said earlier that she grows up in a secluded village deep in the forest.. Just how long have she been honing her skill?..' Errick thought.
.
.
Step!.
Syla stopped at just a few meters from the bandit triplets, their tongue was hanging out of their mouth and their eyes looked soulless, as if their sense of morality has dwindled into nothing but violence.
'I don't know how strong they are.. But im confident in my skill, i didn't train for more than a decade just to doubt my competence infront of an enemy..' Syla said to herself before releasing a deep sigh.
"Huuhh..."
"You." Suddenly, one of the triple in the middle pointed his finger at Syla.
Syla naturally looked at the bandit, confused as to why he was pointing at her.
"You're strong aren't you?" The triplet said.
"You're strong, i agree!"
"Your aura is heavy!"
"—Why do you think so." Syla purposefully asked to avoid direct answer.
"Our boss likely missed it, but you, that necklace.. You're an A-Rank adventurer." The triplet smirked.
"It's below S-Rank!"
"We never fought an A-Rank before."
"...How do you know, you can't see the plate, what if im a B-Rank or C-Rank?" Syla asked once more, she was startled by the triplets prediction, because Syla never even shown her adventurer plate to anyone yet, she always kept the plate hidden beneath her clothes, and with the cloak covering even more of her skin, accidentally taking a glimpse of her adventurer plate should've been impossible.
"Aha! That reply means you're most definitely an A-Rank, no adventurer wants to admit themselves as a lower rank infront of an enemy.. Unless they're trying to lower their enemy's guards by making them think they're weaker than expected." The middle triplet's smirk grew even larger, his face became more and more nonhuman looking as time goes on.
"You got tricked!"
"Middle brother are always smart!"
"Tck.. What a bothersome trio you are." Syla clicked her tongue, she couldn't believe that she had fallen into such trick, the thought of her strength being discovered by an enemy and yet they still hold the same confidence surprisingly pissed her off.
"A pretty demihuman like you should become a slut, not an adventurer– Good idea, we were just thinking of testing our limits, fighting an A-Rank sounds perfect." The middle triplet said before the other two beside him talked together at the same time.
"Don't make us bored yeah?"
SWOOSH!
And then, in the blink of an eye, the triplet suddenly disappeared from Syla's vision.
Gasp!
Syla's pupils shrinked as her heart went into panic mode, at the same time, the other bandits that were surrounding her and the mercenaries also began to scream, they roared and declared the beginning of their battle before charging straight at Errick and his friends.
CLANK!
The sound of two metal clashing against each other rang into everyone's ears, Syla instinctively leaped from the ground and raised her sword to her neck just in time as the rusty dagger flew into her direction, intending to cut her head.
Her body spun mid-air, dodging the other set of daggers that almost hit her, if Syla didn't do a back flip at that exact moment, her whole body would've been sliced in multiple parts.
Syla than adjusting her body in an instant, she landed on the ground without a scratch and soon she saw the triplets appearing around her, they've surrounded her on each side like a triangle, and no matter where she looked, they're all the same.
Facing three enemies that shared the same technique, chemistry, and brains are one of the most annoying thing Syla had encountered, since she only had two pair of eyes, she couldn't see in every direction, and often times, she was ambushed through her blind spots.
CLANK!
"GYAHAHA! WHERE YOU LOOKING AT!?" One of the triplet swung his daggers beside Syla, trying to slice her arms when out of nowhere, his attacks instead got parried with another loud clank.
"Huh!?" The triplet was surprised by Syla's agility, it's as if her speed was matching them and that she gradually adapted to their attacks.
"Tch! You still can't see this!" One of the triplet, whoever it was, middle, left, or even right. Aggresively pushed his legs to the ground, he dashed to the side and created a stream of afterimages that followed his movement, he then pushed his other legs to the other side, his series of dashes resembles a snake, and with his daggers being held tightly, he threw himself to the air and arrived at Syla, right where he wanted.
While Syla was dealing with the other triplets who also came out of nowhere, Syla's eyes momentarily caught a short glimpse of the bright light that were reflected by the daggers, it was coming from above her.
"–You're right THERE!" Syla shouted after parrying the attacks from the two triplet bandit and looked up.
Having enough of all the consecutive ambushes, Syla decided to play a little unfair. She raised her other hand towards the direction of the triplet that was going to attack her from above and summoned a fireball.
'A ball of fire.. Imagine it having a heat sensor! A fireball that follows anything with heat!' Syla said to herself as she imagined the magic in her head.
"MAGIC!?" The triplet was in shock upon witnessing Syla's magic, they had expected her to be able to use magic, after all most adventurers had experienced a life-threatening moments in their life, however what they didn't expect was her proficiency in magic.
